Structured RP is better than Free-Form RP. Change my mind?

Structured RP: Roleplay that has mechanical benefit behind it. Examples of this would be tabletop role-playing games where roleplay exists and allows mechanics which show what you are capable of. In Dungeons and Dragons, lets say your character has the ability to use magic missile as a wizard. This does an amount of damage based on a hierarchy which is earned through experience and time as well as player choice. Turns are set in structure in order to create a working equivalence based on psuedo-randomness through dice. This imparted math allows more unbiased and percentage based skill on factors gained through play rather than imparted through word of mouth.
Free-Form RP: This is what LOTC has. It is strictly roleplay with no math or non-arbitrary based system. While a system is inherent with things like magic, there are multiple loop-holes created to pass this and things are decided by roleplay which is then argued between the constituents. This player-confict which is the biggest downside to free-form is within lotc is revolved by PvP in a majority of cases. You will have people who were objectively better at something in both time+experience, however will still lose due to a difference of opinion. Instead of logos, there is pathos. While some people try to maintain logos within a conflict, this quickly devolves due to two vastly different opinions based on their own real-life experience which its only benefit to free-form is a falsely-random integer included which most of the time will end with the two neutral parties duking out with pvp. The main difference between this and something like DnD or MnM, or any other tabletop is that you have the roleplay thereof with a good game master, and a non-partisan representation of the fight due to actual character-skill rather than factors involving the person. Free-form is needlessly pedantic and creates un-necessary hostility.

GMs should stop over-moderating.

I wish we did not have an ultra sensitive community so we could down vote people again.

I’ve recently found the Hamilton Soundtrack, and this is my current jam:

Here's my solution, let's get rid of pvp, and let's get rid of RP. That's right, let's become a build server!

That face when developers will tell YOU what YOU want. Literally from what I've seen so far a developer's only argument has been "I don't want to deal with its upkeep. . ." I mean hmm. . . that almost sounds like you saying you don't want to do your job doesn't it?

@Its_Just_Leap You're right, they did sign up for it and it's their prerogative on what they want to do with that. If you want to change that, join the team and not only fix nexus, but keep it updated. It's unrealistic to make volunteers commit to something that not only isn't efficient in their viewpoint with the time allotted, but to push something for mechanical features that could be better programmed. Most of the playerbase for lotc happens to be people between middle school and college. Many of the coders are either in a high school program in coding, or working for a A.A. or B.A. in computer science or computer information systems. Between family, friends, school, work and programming for this they have priorities whether they're MIA or not. I'm a programmer and almost came back on the single premise of just doing coding for lotc. Programming is a very meticulous task, and I personally don't believe it a very comforting to treat the small coding team with this respect. "That face when developers will tell YOU what YOU want. Literally from what I've seen so far a developer's only argument has been "I don't want to deal with its upkeep. . ." I mean hmm. . . that almost sounds like you saying you don't want to do your job doesn't it?" If your complaint is that they have a problem with upkeep over a single plugin is difficult due to the way it was programmed, then instead of advocating of a return from nexus maybe you should try pushing an agenda of making something similar that their more familiar with having been coded differently. You could simply be a proponent of specific features that you would have re-implemented rather than sit here and drone on about a flawed point.

I'm sure as hell there isn't 36 staff directors. https://gyazo.com/92fb5ef4adb7373a195a4365fd026a77 So how has my appeal been viewed over 36 times when according to the staff, only directors can see it?

I didn't want to PK, I have to admit that I am disappointed that the group and in some respects individuals involved in my characters death either don't PK or are defending not PKing which appear to be under the same circumstances I was in. I may have not liked the fact my character died and I might have thrown salt at the people who did it but I still followed through with the PK. I find it a bit disrespectful towards the RP I put in not to see t i t for tat.
