If you told everyone to pk after a public death or for the sake of progressing a story you'd easily loose half the server or more in due time. People love their first characters esspecially if you play it for several years, they become apart of you. Some people just wouldn't play lotc anymore if their main died, me included. There should be some thing that happens but pk is not necessarily needed in my personal opinion, and to each his own opinion on said topic.

Personally, this is just my opinion, you should only not pk after death for 3 reasons. 1 it's a pvp fight, not an honour duel but say pvp bandits. 2 if there was some blatant powergame from them or 3 if it was OOC targeting without any rp reason. However, that's in a perfect world where people don't care way too much about their special magic.
