  1. I'm not up to detailed snuff about how Shapeshifting magic functions, but knowing what I do about it, Tahariae's magic would not. It's like turning the soul back into clay and briefly reshaping it to be another animal, where Ferals turn into big furry doggyfuckers which are unnatural hybridizations between mortal and beast.
  2. That's how it always should have been. If it was accepted lore in any other form it was an oversight and incongruent with existing lore standards.
  3. 1. Tahariae magic will harm them while mid-transformation/transformed. There's no way to skirt around that. Azdrazi superior forms are harmed because it's a metamorphosis (even temporary!) and a physical impurity, a flaw to the Descendant's form. 2. No idea why Xan magic would've harmed them in the first place. It's pretty clear within its lore that it harms Dragonkin / dark things. 3. While the Feral affliction is a major twisting of the soul, I guess there's some dumb 'deity clause' in Ascended lore since they rewrote it? I'm not entirely certain about Patrons being considered under that, but I suppose there's room for a case to be made. So Tahariae magic will harm Ferals, that's the end of it unless Tahariae magic itself changes.

  5. This lore aims to contradict a bunch of previously established lore regarding creation and other Aenguademons, and does so without a lot of actual writing or justification or explanation as to why.
  6. This is interesting. It's good, too. It's mechanically functional, it has a neat aesthetic and you have exemplary intentions and purpose with it. It just needs a little more oomph and adjustment to better fit in with the jigsaw puzzle of server lore we have. I've had two large magic types passed through with flying colors-- I'll call myself skilled at making lore like this. If you're interested in a bit of help in getting this passed through, hit me up on discord at Archangel#5516, I'd love to help.

  9. Pretty good idea, though in the end if this gets rejected you always have the option to stick it to the LT and do it anyways because it doesn't technically need acceptance
  10. It's a Dark Art. 'Dark Arts' on the server don't specifically refer to anything evil, Dark Arts are all common with one another in that they function by manipulating the present material forces of the world around us. Lifeforce, blood, the soul, etc. This is opposed to Voidal and Deific magics which rely entirely upon the influence of a power outside of the material world.

  13. Hello it's me here to provide leadership insight as usual So, about two weeks ago the team came to the consensus that Fi was a magic in desperate need of something to be done with it: we don't like to just shelf things immediately and our priority is first and foremost to rewrite, restructure, and refit a piece in a satisfying way so that it may continue its life on the server as canon lore. It was determined that Fi would have an attempt at being rewritten (yet again, making it one of the most re-written magics) before we took any drastic action like just removing it from roleplay. Fi suffers from a problem that anybody familiar with League of Legends' game theory will understand: it's non-interactive. It offers little to no counterplay for the vast majority of magic roleplayers on the server, because like it or not it's a large demographic. I see it to be a fundamental flaw within the magic's nature that its purpose exists to seemingly just abate the magic roleplay of anyone who's not a Fi' mage and that's not something I agree with happening. It's not really fun to get throatfucked by someone who's able to cancel out any and all forms of magic, especially when you're the sort of mage who already has broad weaknesses to other archetypes on the server. So, for this reason, we moved forward with communicating with the active Fi' community about the idea of a rewrite. Which, at the time, was none of the people speaking about their own Fi' mages and input on this thread. In fact, every single person involved quit because they wanted to see nothing change at all with a perceivably broken and unfun magic, except for Rella. So! Don't scream and shout and spit and bite at her, she's the only person who stuck through and wanted to comply instead of crying like a toddler. While I unfortunately didn't get to look over the full rewrite for posting, groundwork was still done. Lulu, if you're interested in partaking in the rewrite, you can contact any of the aforementioned people Thomas named, myself included.
  14. Wayfinding Written by Bagley There are those arcane practitioners who do not find themselves falling into the niches of combative magics, warding or what other schools - all of which Wayfinders might simply dismiss as nonsense. Instead, these wizards dedicate their lives to the ferrying of peoples across the various planes of material existence. While some contemporary scholars refer to it as Arcane Navigation, its practitioners prefer the term Wayfinding and label themselves as Wayfinders. Many of these specialized magicians take up the trade as captains and are most always found at the helm of some manner of vessel, the means of their transport. How does it work? Wayfinders are finely attuned to the magical currents that naturally occur within the world. These currents, known in the colloquial jargon of the Wayfinders as the trade winds. These currents will often lead to places in the world where the fabric of reality is thin, allowing for Wayfinders to puncture the layer between the physical world and the Veil. When this occurs, it culminates in magical storms which envelop the region and allow for the Wayfinders to skirt the edge of the Veil, resulting in the transportation of single vessel and sometimes even entire fleets from one reality to another. What purpose does it serve? The Wayfinders fill a certain niche in a world split quite literally into two halves. With both civilian and government ventures making such travel extremely profitable, wayfinders are eager to facilitate. They are commonly employed by nation-states, mercantile charters or freelance groups to work their magics and are becoming increasingly relevant in the modern era where commerce serves as the lifeblood of all things and wanderlust captivates a great many, opening the lands of Axios to a much broader world and a great many places otherwise unreachable without the skillful hand of a Wayfinder. This lore's purpose is to justify the interplanar travel between the two halves of the material world we live on. It is simple and vague due to this-- it will never be used by players, and is simply for flavor.
