Caldarin would find the note and sigh, "There goes another one, hopefully he comes back this time." He looks over t he rest of the note and his eyes narrow. "I haven't talked a lot to Berr... Perhaps there's more to him than I originally thought. It is unfortunate that Toren has exiled himself though, he was a great El'Tir."

Finally reading The Last Apprentice series. Don't read it after dark, seriously.

Read it and you might find out. :P

Caldarin Elmir Daeharith Basic Information Nicknames: Cald, Cal, Arin Age: 127 Years Old Gender: Male Race: Wood Elf and/or Mali’ame Status: Alive ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Description Height: Caldarin is 5 foot six and ¾ inches tall. Weight: Caldarin weighs approximately 122 pounds, though that number is dramatically increased when he is wearing armor. (Armor as general rule is usually heavy). Body Type: Caldarin is slightly muscular under his clothing, however he has a smaller body type in general that sometimes makes people underestimate him. He is not the most physical person ever and prefers to focus on solving problems with his mind rather than brute force, that slightly owing to the fact he is not amazingly muscular or strong. Eyes: Caldarin’s eyes are a dark, deep green filled with wonder, curiousness, and a wish to explore the natural world around him. Hair: Caldarin’s hair is slightly longer than shoulder length and light brown in color. He keeps his hair braided when he is on duty so as not to have it as something to be easily grabbed onto in a fight. Skin: Caldarin’s skin is slightly tanned from hours in the sun, especially his face. His body slightly less than his face because he wears armor the majority of the time. Markings/Tattoos: Caldarin has no markings or tattoos on his body besides a small symbol for the Daeharith family on his right leg, right above the ankle. Health: Caldarin is in average health for a Wood Elf his age and currently has no ailments. This will be updated over time if he gets sick, has the flu, etc. Personality: Caldarin is usually calm and accepting, but can be angered by small things that build up over time. He’s very irritable without rest or sleep over long periods of time, or if he’s having a generally bad day. Caldarin believes that all things deserve a right to live as long as they have not committed any crimes and/or done an act that deserves a fitting punishment above or equal to death, such as murder, or abusement of children (or generally those who may be lesser than you). He does his best to uphold that but will also follow the rules set out by Laureh’lin and the legacy of the Wood Elves. Caldarin generally tries to stay out of trouble and do his best, and is usually annoyed or slightly bothered when he falls short of a mark he knows he can reach. He is by nature peaceful but will not hesitate to raise arms in a necessary situation. Inventory: Caldarin usually keeps a supply of bread or dried meat on hand, as well as his shortsword. He also usually has a small pouch of salt on his belt when wearing armor for the sake of defending against Frost Witches if necessary. He also on occasion keeps a small journal/logbook on hand to write down notes or important things he notices that might be of interest to the higher-ups of the Sirame. Further Details: Caldarin has a mostly Wood Elven descent with some High Elves mixed in every now and then, that being the reason that his face is slightly more angular than the normal Wood Elf’s, though not exactly like a High Elf. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Life Style Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Cernunnos and Cerridwen Religion: Caldarin does not necessarily worship the Aspects, but holds them in high regards and reverence. Alliance/Nation/Home: The Reformed Kingdom of Oren, Province of Laureh’lin Job/Class: Caldarin is a regular member (El’Haler) of the Order of Sirame, an order serving as an active guardforce and military for the Province of Laureh’lin. Title(s): El’Naeri Profession(s): Caldarin’s Professions are as follows by rank/skill: Promising Miner (Main), Promising Woodworker (Racial), Promising Lumberjack (Second) This will be updated if/when Caldarin receives his third profession upon playing for 250 hours. Special Skill(s): Caldarin has no special skills. Flaw(s): Caldarin does not have a very high opinion of himself and believes that the only people who really ascend the ladder of authority or go on to do great deeds are those who are prophesied or chosen specifically rather than just trying and working hard to get there. This opinion is slowly changing as time goes on and he grows older and less naive, however. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magic Current Status: Caldarin currently knows no magic but may eventually look into in the future. Arch-type: N/A Sub-Type: N/A Rank: N/A Weakness(es): N/A Strength(s): N/A Current Spell(s): N/A ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Weaponry Fighting Style: Caldarin’s fighting style is more relying off strategy and striking at the right moment rather than brute force. He attempts to use pressure points and weak spots to take down his enemies. He fights with a very fluid style, trying to slip by or getting out of the way without actually having to block and risk long extended interactions in which the possibility for him losing are much greater. Trained Weapon: Caldarin is trained in basic archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat. He is slowly getting better the more he is with the Sirame. Favored Weapon: Caldarin favors the Shortsword, Hand and a Half Sword, or the Longbow. Archery: Caldarin has just basic Archery skills but is learning quite a bit more from the Sirame than he did from on his own. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Biography Parents: Father: Cedric Daeharith (half High Elf, half Wood Elf) - Alive Mother: Leai Daeharith (Mali’ame) - Alive Siblings: Aura Daeharith - Deceased (Died in Athera) - Brother Children: Caldarin has no children. Extended Family: Caldarin has no important extended family, but considers Ravondir Silverblade, one of his very close friends, almost as a cousin. Pet(s): Caldarin has no pets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ History Caldarin Elmir Daeharith was born in the year 1395 in Asulon to Cedric and Leai Daeharith. He grew up in Malinor and was content with his family’s very average place in Wood Elven society. He was well educated and learned how to read, write, and do basic math. He was very scared and traumatized during the later events that took place on Asulon and was frightened by the prospect that he had to leave everything he had ever known behind to leave for Anthos. His uncle, Amras Ancalimon, had been killed near the Cloud Temple while the descendents escaped Asulon. This didn’t help Caldarin’s situation because Amras had been his favorite relative other than his parents. He greatly cared for his younger brother when he was born in Anthos and was a great help to his parents with the young Aura Daeharith when they left Anthos on the boats. Aura was what helped with his trauma from his early life and seemed to be what allowed Caldarin to put his life back together. Aura never remembered Anthos because he had been too young at the time. Caldarin had however lost many friends in the floods on Anthos while the Descendants evacuated. By the time Caldarin got to Athera he understood more about the process of moving and why they had to keep leaving so often. Darkness had always followed the Descendents, from Aegis onwards. He tried to put his life more into place and solid, following in the professions of his parents as woodworkers and fletchers. He worked under the High Elves, fleeing with his family when the Mali’aheral and Human war broke out with Oren coming out on top. Caldarin rejoined the Province of Laureh’lin when it had become more stabilized and was a citizen in the Province when the Descendents were driven out of Athera and continued on to the Isles of Vailor. Unfortunately, Caldarin’s younger brother, Aura, was killed in one of the giant worm attacks. Caldarin had not confirmed his brother’s death, so he left his family when they got in Vailor, searching frantically for Aura. He eventually accepted that Aura had not become separated from the Mali’ame and that he had been killed on Athera. This saddened Caldarin quite a bit, as his parents were now too old to have any more children. His emotional mood was always mostly downcast after he accepted the fact that Aura was dead. Aura had been trying to become a Dedicant and join the Druidic Order, and had been with them most of the time during the war between Haelun’or and Oren, and Caldarin had decided that was a safe place for him. When Aura was killed when the Druids were also fleeing, Caldarin blamed the Druidic Order for his death. He doesn’t hate the Druids as a whole, he just has a small grudge against them as he understands it isn’t fully their fault. Caldarin also blames himself for Aura’s death and not taking more care of him and watching over him when he was with the Druids in the Fiandria Mother Grove. Caldarin moved on slowly to join the Order of Sirame for the sake of protecting Laureh’lin and trying to restore the peace and might of the Wood Elven people, vowing that he would protect people from the same fate that had befallen his brother. Caldarin also met his very close friend Ravondir Silverblade when joining the Sirame. He is still in contact with his parents but now lives in the Sirame barracks in Laureh’lin. He hopes that in the end everything will turn out successfully for what remains of his family and extended family after the events that had taken place throughout the multiple realms of Asulon, Anthos, Athera, Vailor, and all in between. He wishes to continue fighting against the darkness that threatens to consume the Descendents and that has always haunted his family. Caldarin has slowly rebuilt himself as an El'Naeri of the Order of Sirame and it’s now difficult to get him to talk about his past as he prefers to concentrate on the present and future rather than the unfortunate events of history. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Artwork At the moment there is no artwork for Caldarin.

"Hmm..." Caldarin reads the flier. "I have no written works to contribute. However, I may eventually aspire to write a few." He takes one of the fliers down as a reminder and carries it with him back to the barracks in Laureh'lin to put on the wall next to his bed. He then heads back off on patrol throughout the city.
-
Caldarin finds a flier and decides to visit the shop later that day. He stops by to pick up some sugarcane in early evening , as he is in the process of creating a personal book to take notes on certain maneuvers and people visiting Laureh'lin for the Sirame. He smiles at the shopkeeper as he purchases his goods, "Thank you."
-
Caldarin would read through the notice quickly, "Good to know," he mutters under his breath. "I should probably get a copy, just in case." He heads towards the Sirame barracks, going to ask for an extra copy of the document.

Should I apply for AT? What do you think?

We're at rank 47! Wow! Ten ranks in...what, 36-48 hours? That's amazing! -
This would probably be very difficult to code, but if we could get the plugin and resource nodes working, I think it's a great idea! A place where if players of a different race are there long enough, it automatically switches to their allegiance. This would make trade & a very well functioning economy in RP more important, i.e. Oren (who in this example will have wheat) will give bread in exchange for coal from Urguan (who will have stone/mining stuff). Like a once or twice per IRL week tax thingy for the miners and farmers. 2 stacks of bread per week, and in response 3 stacks of coal, depending on how valuable the resources are at that time. I like the idea in general, though it could be very hard to implement.

Aura sighs, another Dedicant having been made without himself even considered. Even the druii seemed to barely notice him, though he did his best to be heard. He supposed he would just be content to sit in the library and read books, since no one else ever seemed to be there and it was a good place to think. If there had been one place he would've liked to stay, it would've been the Fiandria Mother Grove, though it seemed that even there everyone ignored him and deemed himself, like many other children, unimportant. ((I'm gonna be helpful, Earendur made a new Dedicant: Dedicant Aldrick Thistlebeard (samuraishampoo)! If you could add him to the list, that'd be great)).

Aura sees the note, knowing who Leyun is. He has a slight understanding of who Malin is, but knows naught of the full history of the Elves. He decides he'll give any piece of information or writing he finds on the topic to the Apple Druid.

Out-Of-Character Information The simplest section of the application. Answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit more. Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication! What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - william3677 is my Minecraft username, no capitals whatsoever. How old are you?: - I am 11 years of age. Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - Yes, I have indeed roleplayed on other minecraft servers! Celestial Dreams, Mythic Ages, Uthrandir, and Wayward Realms. Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): - I have, many months upon months ago, I think. I’m not sure I could even find the application now, as it’s from at least six months ago. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. However, in my previous applications I stated I was 15. I apologize for lying, as I thought it would be good at the time, though I am in truth 11. If this gets me denied, I won’t be angry at you. I do hope you don’t use my age against me though, as that would make me upset. How did you hear about us?: - I learned about this server originally through Candle, one of the original players from 2011 who played one of the Sages of the Ascended, even though I've heard they no longer exist. I've also heard this server mentioned multiple times by others when they talk about Minecraft RP, since it seems to be the biggest and most popular RP server out there right now. I was also drawn here by the Insomnic's wonderful Let's Play. What do you think the server will be like?: – I’m hoping it will be a wonderful RP experience. I’m an aspiring writer (Though I’m still working on finishing my started novels)…And RP usually inspires me, whether with the situation or even the environment it might be going on in. I really hope this will be as great as everyone says it is, though I have seen a few negative reviews, I’m hoping those were people who just didn't like other players on the server or weren't fond of it because maybe they broke the rules and got banned. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yep! What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - No Moderator Shopping. Seriously, people do that all the time, and it’s the most annoying thing I've ever encountered next to harassment. Harassment/cyber-bullying is a very dangerous thing and if not handled correctly it can make both sides of the argument explode. I’ve seen the negative effects of cyber-bullying and sexual harassment first hand, as it has happened to my friends, and once, on another server, to me. I sincerely hope this does not occur on LoTC and if it does that it will be punished. Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?: - Of course. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): - So, when you’re talking about mechanical RP, since I do have a question, do you mean such as in a siege, if we place a ladder on a wall, the actual block, we’re allowed to climb up it, but if it’s just there RPly and wasn't actually placed as a block, we’re not allowed to climb it? Just wanted to clarify. Definitions These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is the act of taking on the shoes of another person and pretending you’re them. You’re taking on a whole different personality with traits different than yours in real life, because roleplay is meant to be fun for everyone involved and for you to be whatever you want to be, rather than your plain old boring self you probably think you are in real life. What’s metagaming?: - Meta-gaming is the act of using OOC (out of character) information that you may have learned over the forums, teamspeak, skype, etc. and then use it for your personal gains IC (In character) that you’re character would have no way of knowing in the first place. If I see the character ‘Alex’ in chat, but I’ve never met them before, I just can’t say “Hi Alex,” as that would be meta-gaming and using information my character didn't actually know if I had never met Alex before. What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming has a variety of ranges. It can go from forcing people into RP they don’t want, or not letting them respond to emotes and then you killing their character without ever giving them a chance to defend themselves. It could also be emerging into the world with a fully developed character and not being able to change. If you saw someone die and you’re still a child, you might be thinking, “Eh, okay, I just watched someone’s head get chopped off. Whatever.” When actually, if your character’s personality could still change and get scarred, what you actually might say is, “…Y-you…You…You just…You killed that man!” You’d probably be stuttering and scared, maybe even crying depending on the age of the child you were playing. Or if you’re playing a grown man, you’re a fully developed character that you just created who can’t get scarred by anything and his wife and two children die, and he doesn't care at all. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. What’s your character called?: - Aura Daeharith What race are they? (And sub-race if applicable): - Elf; Wood Elf What gender are they?: - Male How old are they?: - Aura is 21 years of age, so would appear to be a young adult to any human though among Elves he is still considered a child. Give us a highlight of their past, what life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, etc. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Aura was born like every other elf child, and he was raised in the lands of The Fringe. He grew up with most elvish customs, his normal childhood ending when the draught descended on the Fringe and began killing crops and animals. His parents died first of illness, having been grateful enough to Malin that they had given all their remaining food to their child. Aura mourned them for many days, remaining at the empty house and barely eating or drinking before he realized his food supplies would eventually run out and he would have to be on the move to find others. Aura fled to the main population of wood elves, Lin’ame, which unfortunately, was also suffering from the draught but had not gone so far as to evacuate yet to Thales yet. He naturally fit in with the other children that had suffered the same fate as him, and they often went door to door trying to find food or water when their supplies ran low. Eventually he passed a beggar, much like himself. This beggar had no coins in their container that they carried around asking people for things, but a loaf of bread. The beggar smiled down at Aura kindly, “Child, why are you without food, like many other children in this city?” “Because,” Aura said simply. “There is no spared food for us, so we are left to fend for ourselves while the drought spreads.” “You are right, very right,” the beggar said, chuckling to herself, “There is food spared for us, and we are not left to fend for ourselves. The drought spreads, but the food and drink has not been taken from us, it has been merely used for others in a similar condition as you and I. It is scarce, and so it is passed around as equally as possible.” She broke the loaf of bread in half, handing it to Aura. “Why…” Aura stared down at the bread, “This is yours, and you should keep it. I’ll find someone else…You’re a beggar like me. You shouldn't be giving away the small amount of food you have managed to scrounge up…” Aura trailed off, realizing the argument was pointless as the beggar didn't move to take the bread back from Aura’s hands. “I will not keep it, child. How old are you?” The elven woman asked, tucking the other half of loaf of bread into a pouch at her side. “Twenty-one…” Aura said in response slowly. The woman simply nodded her head. “Then you do indeed deserve food and drink. Look around you, none of us prosper. Open your eyes to the world and the pains of others besides you. They suffer much the same fate. I must go now, farewell, child.” And the woman swept away without another word. Quite the odd one, Aura thought, but decided she was right. Others besides him had no food and were in much the same situation as him. Children had lost their parents or gotten separated from them in the confusion and panic of the draught, women wept as their husbands died of dehydration, and their children died of starvation. Soon after, they set sail for the island of Thales and to hopefully prosper there, Aura being one of the last to board a ship and look one last time at the Fringe, where he had been born and lived for many years. Then he looked around the boat, “She was right. She was always right. There are many others who have more needs than I do that are not taken care of, and I will help them to the best of my ability.” The kindness of a child can go a long way, as even Aura’s story proves. He searches the streets of the new Lin’ame, either trying to find a group or family that will take him in, and food and drink to last him the day. If he finds others that have suffered, he will often share the small rations he gets and make sure they eat before he does. If he dies of starvation or dehydration, then that’s what it’ll be since someone else lived instead. And that’s what Aura believes is more important. He still mourns the loss of his parents and Lin’ame, and he knows naught of whatever happened to the elven beggar who had spoken words of wisdom to him. (If there is anything wrong lore wise with my backstory, please let me know. I’ll be sure to edit it ASAP). What are they like? (Personality): - Aura is generally very outgoing and tries to make friends with a lot of people, his personality is cheerful most of the time, but if you make him angry he’ll just ignore you. You can trust him with a secret and he’ll keep it, but if it’s not a secret the world will know, especially if they ask about it. He tries his best to help those that need it, but he also likes to verify both sides of the story. Such as if a fight breaks out and someone gets injured, before helping them he’d figure out whether it was just a brawl or if they were a thief or murderer. What are their ambitions?: - Aura, being a child, really doesn’t have all that many ambitions. If anything he would want to help the elves regain order, as they are all separated and don’t particularly like each other at the moment. If he could not do that, he would hope to learn how to read and write, as those are both skills he does not have at the moment. Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Strengths (Special skills): -Being a young child, he often can influence adults into giving him things that he normally wouldn’t be able to obtain easily as an adult such as food. -He tries to use his wits to solve his way around problems, though most of the time his solutions don’t work and end up making the problem worse in some way. Weaknesses (Things they’re bad at): -Has never learned to read or write. -Hasn’t learned any ancient elven, as Aura is a child. -Lacks physical strength. -Has never learned to fight and in doing so would probably fail miserably at even attempting to punch someone. Give us a description of how they look?: - Aura looks around the age of maybe a ten or eleven year old, though being an elf he is actually twenty-one. His skin tone is fairly tanned, as he’s outside a lot and enjoys playing in the woods, also like a lot of children. (Yay generic children character). He wears a forest green cloak, and has dark brown hair, his long ears protruding from it. He has cyan eyes and is fairly short for an elf, though he is not done growing, as elves age slower than humans. Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - http://imgur.com/a/WK26Q I hope the link works, as I could not directly attach an image.
