  1. Drat, there's already eight! Then again, @Malgonious Don't suppose you'd consider having substitutes in case folk can't show? -Thorvn
  2. Thorvn was seen snoring off in the distance, having been swindled in earning favor with others.
  3. Fun fact, save your zerker axes for the future, they may not be apart of the loot table anymore but they still exist until breaking.

  4. " I may of not Known Knox for too long, but I can definitely say he will be remembered in my book, alas- Knox falls to the curse of responsibility. You will be missed."
  5. Daily reminder to be patient for plugin updates, far as I know we only have two devs so.. 'v ' Yes.   -Thorvn

  6. 9/26 minipatch: Minotaur charge attacks can now be blocked to absorb full damage and knockback at the cost of disabling your shield for several seconds, trying to tank the hit results in guaranteed downing with 14 damage in full iron armor while the knockup still exists and makes it borderline execution. Be warned, these monsters are still extremely powerful.
  7. Rejoice, a proper hunting guide has finally been published!~

  8. "Hear ye, Hear ye, the second Edition of the Atlas Hunting Codex Has been released to the public masses" Announced Thorvn from the Cloud Temple booking section, the dark robe-worn highlander brandished a burgundy hard covered tome with golden bordering. The front-page of the book had a golden leaf edged firmly upon the top right covering. The purpose of this post is to increase awareness of the hunting plugin and provide a field guide to those who use it, after all what good is a hunter without knowing its target? As some will know, finding the hunting mobs of Atlas can be a tedious task, hence why you talk to the huntsmaster At cloud temple, he's to the left of the soul-stone, towards the western wall : This is the location in cloud temple where you'll spend your time preparing for hunts. The hunting master (Npc behind Thorvn) Gives you detailed information on the current hunting monster. Some say the man's name is Gregorovic "I just call him Greg sometimes to piss the old fart off." (The target resets every six hours on the hour, so if you feel stingy about fighting Gravens and you want your Nuller nuggets perhaps come back at a later reset, who knows~ You might just get that paycheck early.) "But Thorvn, i've got over three dozen pelts in my chests and don't want to keep them any longer, will he take my legitimately procured goods?" Indeed, he shall! Behind the npc is a whole load of shops filled with various monster bits varying from Nuller glands, Minotaur horns, Bandit skulls and even Golem parts! Warning, Side effects of active hunting may include but are not limited to the following: Bloodloss, broken and or loss of limbs, lower life expectancy, sudden urges to go on exterminations of exotic species, urges to hoard absurd amounts of Minae, and- Horrific death. If any of these conditions concern you, feel deathly ill or weak in the knees, you may consult a temple monk for a prescription to GET GUD. Now, you're probably all ready to go on your hunting adventures and want to jump into the fray- but lets be honest, Are you really going to dive into a pit of Bog beasts naked and with no armor? Recent studies have shown that 76.42% of hunters who go on tours naked end up dying at least twice a session! You wouldn't want to be part of that majority right? You'll want a checklist and lucky for you Thorvn is here to help you prepare! Here is a short list of things you'll want if you wish to make It back from hunts: As standard, you'll want a full set of iron armor, Minotaurs will rip you apart if you're caught dead wearing nothing but casual clothing! Along with this, you'll either bring a shield and iron sword (Several) A good stack of food too, bow and arrows optional accessories. On your offhand and for you more risky, min/maxing hunters an item called Kip's lucky pebble. "But Thorvn, why would I want to bring small rock to big fights? You told us not to die!" Indeed I did, but are you sick of not picking up enough rare drops and wish to improve your odds? Start here!: (Unfortunately due to budget reasons and lack of detail for kips lucky pebble, i'll provide my own edited example) The main thing you want is +1 luck, This item costs 2400 minas and is wielded in the offhand/shield slot. You can buy it at the magic emporium within Cloud Temple. it affects the drop-rate and stacks with- The price of this item is 5000 minas, consider it a long-term investment, (note: book passives last until the map changes, so consider it semi-permanent). Tired of carrying so many swords your back breaks? Want more inventory space that'll make the difference between life and death? Look no further than- This book details on general vital points upon both humanoid, feral and even undead beast! A perfect early pickup to bring those kills up up up! The book costs 8000 minas, a hefty sum with a good benefit, paired with an iron sword this'll bring its damage up to 6.8 more than enough to kill direwolves, bandits and bogbeasts in three hits. -Thorvn approved. "Theres a book for killing better? Now what about taking less damage?" A bystander questions out. Ah! Good question, this book might not be the most useful but it's better than nothing no? Ten percent might not seem like a-lot but if you're getting hit by bandits or minotaurs and theres a good five, seven hearts worth of damage this'll on occasion save your bacon, for 6000 minas, this is a debatable buy, would recommend with enough spare minae. Last of the books is something that will help you keep your insides from going on the outside! This book costs 4000 Minas and extends the amount of time spent downed by a maximum of twenty seconds, good for those events where everyone is freaking out and running about while you scream for he-bleed out, yes- bleed out. Anyway.. now that we got the fundamentals out of the way, heres a short- yet full list of the monsters you'll be facing in compressed format. The following monsters will be named in alphabetical order, level of difficulty, profit, and drops, values may be subject to change. 12 Monsters to date In Atlas: BileSpitters, Boggens, Bog Beasts, Bandits, Boars, Direwolves, Gravens, Harpies, Minotaurs, Mirrorslimes, Nullers, Rogue Golems. Have you ever hated spiders? Have you ever hated poison? We now you can vent your frustration for both in one package! Introducing the Bilespitter, small spiders that shoot off caustic venom and ensnare your targets, you'll be screaming for the holy order to purge the heretic infused evil within minutes! (Bows advised.) Drop values are 2 and 45 Minas respectively, Bilespitter Eyestalks and Bile extract. Boggens: Supposively these have a hidden book drop that acts as another passive, what we do know is- it's hella valuable, along with the fact Boggens stealth and ambush, they're awfully annoying to go up against, you've been warned. Boggens have no standard selling drop, making them slightly un-amusing to go after. Bog Beasts are low risk, low reward monsters that spew upon in an area upon death, they're fairly weak and come in packs, on hit they apply hunger, so be sure to pack some more food. Standard drops sell for 5, 20, and .3 minas each respectively. Mandibles, Livers and Rotten flesh, considered a good start for newbie hunters. Bandits live in groups and attack with arrows and axe, due to some recent tariffs they no longer drop any berserker axes, shame. On hit for either axe or archer variant they reduce your armor value by a considerable amount, try kiting and dodge if possible. Standard drops are 2 and 15 minas each, Bandit sigil and Bandit Skull. Next on our list are Boars, they're no different than your average swine only they're more ferocious and have a craving for knees! Eheh.. just kidding, they're really fast pigs that charge at you, sometimes you might find a stray Boar lodged in a tree, we call those 'ascended' Standard drops are valued at 8 and 50 minas each, Boar hoofs and Exquisite Truffles, also they drop a healthy sum of raw pork upon death. (1-64, 32 might be soft cap.) Direwolves travel in pack mentality, these might actually replace Nullers entirely for cash and have a multitude of uses, upon hit- Direwolves howl out, spawning four in a box formation around the main wolf, if uncaring enough you'll be overwhelmed in seconds: Go for water, it'll slow them down considerably and make them much more bearable. Drops are valued at 2, 10, and 80 Minas respectively. Direwolf pelts, Direwolf Teeth and Direwolf Heads, don't tell the druids! Gravens are spectral undead beings who prefer to travel in pairs and fight with tiny flying demons, these demons are awfully weak and mainly serve as a distraction, Graven's drop Ectoplasm on occasion and have slowness arrows as well, they pierce shields- so don't bother, try to stay on the move. Ectoplasm is currently valued at 20 minas each. Next on our list is harpies, besides being annoying buzzards that rain bladed quills, these are actually a decent source for feathers AND arrows, along with their skulls that sell for 40 minas each, these beasts are good training for those who wish to dodge with more reaction compared than taking full hits, Not dying for dummies book recommended. Minotaurs, All my nope- recently tested with four people minotaurs can possibly wipe out an entire group, they're known for fierce charge attacks that can knock people several feet high! (even when blocking with a shield) and make considerable damage. Upon being hit by a charge attack the hunter's armor is much more weaker (completely nullifies it, compared to bandits reducing it by a flat amount.) Minotaurs can also not be knocked out of a charged state once starting, even with direct arrow-fire, it's either kill or be killed for these brutes! Minotaurs drop two things, minotaur horns, which value for 20 each, and on occasion normally leather. Mirrorslimes are particularly dangerous by yourself, you either get a buddy to kill the mimic monsters (Because if you hit them you take full damage, even with armor) or bunker down to tank the hits with lots of food and patience. They drop two items, slimeballs and Ethereal ooze, the ooze sells for 50 minas each, this was a recent improvement to increase slayer activity! Just don't bring a friend who actually dislikes you, y'never know if they might slash at your body by accident.. The former head piece, nullers! Tiny venom filled insects that burrow in sandy regions of atlas, their neuro-toxin is weak yet potent enough with plenty of buildup to take down the most hardy of people, (armor isn't advised since the status goes through defense, milk buckets are advised, several since they can act as anti-poison, just bring food and several swords.) The two valued drops are chitens and venom glands, 3 and 60 minas each respectively, ah.. the glory days gone by, I curse those for over-farming Nullers and driving the demand to an all time low.. Last but not least, Rogue golems! They might sound hulking but they're a healthy source of iron and exercise, the mounds of wrought metal hurt decently in full iron armor and upon hit sometimes expell air based energy that causes the target to levitate, these projectiles can be hit to be destroyed, fight from low ground up incase you find yourself at disadvantage. Three drops, scrap metal, cores, and iron ingots in bundles of 16. 4 value for scrap metal and 100 for cores respectively. If you followed this book, you should probably of survived several encounters by now and accumulated a vast variety of wealth, remember in Atlas, the world is your oyster! Only you can influence how the world works and how much dedication you decide to put within its boundaries. (Ooc note: Will add updates as Sporadic influences balance changes and the like, if you have any questions pm Jdesarno or look for Thorvn Bronwyn In atlas, have a nice year~)

  13. "Welp, time to continue working on the security bunker." Thorvn yawned out in bemused fashion.
  14. A loose scripture is found, clumsily kept up-top one of Thorvn's private study lounge, In what looked to be musky red ink displayed: Personal recordings of not limited to: Finances, households, civil state, employment. "As of the current year of Atlas (in ooc time, 9/19) I've decided to keep a personal census to record property and status should one day death, disease, or uncanny rival take me from this mortal world I shall leave belongings for others." The note paused with a sloppy indent towards the most recent period, a clear sign of self thought for the highlander, Thorvn loosed a soft gasp from his maw, resting chin upon right limbed knuckle in immature thought for a few passing minutes, twirling quill to distract from the thought of loosing to the mortal coil seeming to enforce writers block. As time passed, surely the self proclaimed Huntsman would come to, expression distraught, childish even. "Anyway.. starting from fundamentals: Wealth: around Eleven thousand Minae, expecting less due to tailoring requests along with armor-smithing payments, One well established shop within Holm's front market, stocked with a variety of goods from Iron to arrows, surprisingly cheaper than most, nae won't make much difference, it'll only attract more customers t'a Holm, as planned. Household property: "Nae expecting people to be too happy findin out I've have multiple Holms- The text seemed purposely crossed out. HOMES- not.. Holms.. Idiot Thorvn.. Non surprisingly, within Holm, one residence within the cloud district with full furnishing. Halsworthy: One home within the walls towards the church graveyard, minus the lack of bodies, t'was a relaxing abode." Misc: "Around where Red keeps his Llamas. Well.. My and Kalina's Llamas now, due to his illness, damned be elven malaria- Off point- one Hovel refurbished to act similar to a fallout home in case of wartimes, distress- or meditation. Civil state: The column at first looked blank- though upon further inspection written upon small texted, timid toned writing. As far as i'm aware, nobody wants me dead yet~ Employment: Ah.. this is an easy one indeed. Within Adria I work with Red's- well, the Atlasian Merchant Collective for llamas, mainly breeding and caravaning, tis good work at times~ Haven't done much lately though.. Within Holm I personally volunteer as a brigade guardsman, the current title of recruit and a shining example within the ranks, I've no intention of leaving unless personally asked to, in respects. And.. the most amusement i've had since watching someone get hung from Haense: Self employed hunting. Be It golems, bandits, tiny rats- fock it, even swarms of direwolves theres nothing super-natural that'll put me bones down for good- well.. minus a frost wyrm but that's a story for another time." As the writing trails off, so does the increasing lack of ink within Thorvn's reserves, he'll have to restock the personal supply for the next month. (Who knows, perhaps this'll be a monthly log to make sure that Thorvn's still kickin.) As one would say in kind tone: 'Do unto others as they would to you' this Is the highlander's guideline for self pride, not for glory or boastfulness, but to be a well abiding citizen of Atlas, and all of its people. (in an ooc note: If you've taken the time to read this, I congratulate you for taking Interest in a novice's progress, I hope thee have a wonderful night, day- evening, week and remain vigilant with your friends and family, being positive always can bring the best out of people, even in unpleasant situations. You can't kill optimism, even if it nips at you in response for it.)

@Man of Respect Legit, you should make a direct argument to bring back Nexus. @Legoboy7984 Why not equalize? With enough moderation and tweaking It can be incorporated in every day activities, If Nexus grinding really was that much of a problem why haven't people tried solving the issue? last I heard they just got rid of it without finding any counter-balances, of course, i'm a month old newbie. I wouldn't know~!

  17. So as most have come to know I've been on Lotc for a month- without much hope of a custom skin considering i've had to pull the currents from different sources online, anyway- down to the point. I'd like to have a skin made (Hell, perhaps several with different variations to suit the character) For Thorvn, having tried previous people with no success in previous attempts, so i've devised an offer. Skin Request : An upward payment of 3000 minas per skin upon completion with moderate-fine detail included of character: Thorvn Bronwyn 2000 Minas per additional skin variation of Thorvn Bronwyn with, but not limited to the following: Masked variant, Unmasked Variant, Un-hooded Variant, Un-hooded /w mask Variant, Armored Variant, Robed variant. If Interested, Pm Jdesarno on the Lotc server when he is present, or consider pulling aside on discord: jdesarno#4834 Thank you- have a lovely day for reading this request. Hail Falafel.
  18. Yes I was wondering If I could pick up several skins? Perhaps we could talk on specifics in the future. jdesarno#4834 for easy contact.
  19. i'm staring at these statuses and i'm wondering:

    What the hell even happened?

Not that i'd know any better, two more days of dxp~ Thorvn will actively return on the thi- Crap player own farms are on the third.. FOURTH!..

  20. Agreed. People are going to defend both sides regardless, be it the dedicated roleplayers or the crap-posting pvp goons of the server, this is justified in its own right. If that happened, just like nexus, won't people scream out in the fourms? Oh wait, we still have that. A little change would be the start of something greater, I support this thought.
  21. Added twitch prime on lotc @marimbamonk Keep up the nice content!

Just saw this, thank you for the support!

  22. Don't feel bad, I installed two iron doors for my house in Halsworthy.
  23. Speaking mainly from a new player's perspective, i've not been on the server a month and already noted these issues, hell day one I went to Haense when It got raided and got executed in the square for not paying 1000 mina. I can attest that raids can potentially kill off rp, since 'pvp goons' have a habit of mugging new-players on the roads from what i've heard, and personally seen myself. Raiding does have it's problems yes, so does mugging, villany etc, etc not a single thing is perfect. But from a fresh look, 'don't log in if you don't wish to be raided' really? I've noticed that being an excuse from a variety of things from banditry to pvp and let me implore you my two cents: It's bloody inconsiderate. I've said my piece, not everyone's going to agree, nor are they going to disagree, we've just have to live on with what we've paved for ourselves, change doesn't happen overnight, I agree that raiding has problems, but alas- i'm only one person.
