    Being a GM isn't a popularity contest, and I would never want to see it become one. The community, if they hold strong feelings regarding an applicant, explain why. "+1 this guy!" doesn't give me the information I need. Here's to going forward, hopefully you guys heed my suggestion.

      A fair argument, but the trial knocks out the ones who don't live on to the expectations.

      GMs are also shaky on choices sometimes however we know that they at least deserve the chance to do the trial because it is just that, a trial. It's a period of time where we take people and see how well they work in the position and with the team.
