Normal Highelves are mostly like generic Elves. The Haunlore Elves or however you spell it are a spin off culture of the Highelves that promotes purity and all that. However they are not the Social norm nor are they a requirement to be a highelf. They are merely a culture you can integrate into. This is an official stance on the subject.
