Hm. So, this is a little awkward lol. I woke up today, and found out that I need to replace the description I provided with a farm more in-depth description Hellfiazz prepared but never posted. So, here it is. 100% of the credit goes to Hellfiazz for this information, and yes I have his permission. Sorry for the confusion this may cause.
The Scaddernak
One of the mightiest beasts in the known world, the Scaddernak is a fearsome creature that has earned its place in the Orcish psyche as symbolic of themselves: resilient, strong, and relentless in its fury. They resemble vastly overgrown scorpion-like monsters, though to describe them so does not quite do them justice.
Physiology:
Upon reaching adulthood, an average Scaddernak will be 40 feet in length when laid out from front of pincer to end of stinger, though will generally be 25 feet when active, and roughly 15 feet wide. They have two large pincers that are easily capable of severing a mortal in two, and have been used many a time to batter down stone walls in sieges and the like, as well as eight very sturdy segmented legs. Their stinger, a large portion of their total length, does not actually contain any venom glands and is instead used as a massive club-like appendage by the Scaddernak. They instead have venom in their Chelicerae, or mouthparts, more similar to a spider, which is potent enough to kill an Olog within an hour if it enters the bloodstream, and can even act as a horrifically strong corrosive in high concentrations. Their carapace is exceedingly thick, made up of a nigh impenetrable chitin that can resist even the bolts of ballistae, and can only be pierced by conventional weaponry around the Scaddernak’s mouth or underbelly. The chitin itself can be used as a very effective if unmalleable form of armour, if one is able to get access such a coveted material. Generally, they are of a black colour, but their have been uncommon cases of red, sandy, and even dark blue scaddernaks.
History
Scaddernaks have had a long history of interaction with Orcs, dating back to the first days of the Orcish race. The first taming of a Scaddernak was done by Krug himself, who managed to subdue one of these great creatures. He named this Scaddernak Lurgoi after his son, Lur, who he bestowed the beast onto. However, most interactions between the Orcs and Scaddernaks have been conflicts, with Orcs hunting the Scaddernaks and having many casualties afflicted upon them in the process. For a long while Scaddernaks verged on extinction with the only known remaining being the now legendary Lurgoi, though more recently they have began to rejuvenate their population under Orc stewardship.
Taming and Ownership
Though there are some instances of Scaddernaks being tamed, this is an extraordinarily rare occurrence due to the overwhelming difficulty and danger of the process. Such a thing involves forcing the Scaddernak into submission multiple times, which without an immensely strong sedative is almost impossible to do without rendering the beast unconscious, or worse, dead. As such, most domesticated Scaddernaks have been raised by a mortal from hatching.
Scaddernak eggs are generally gained from an already tame Scaddernaks nest, which are as expected far easier and safer to access. In theory, a Scaddernak can be stolen from a wild Scaddernak, but this will almost certainly result in the thief’s death after a very vengeful adult hunts them to the ends of the earth.
