The issue with this is that gold is, in itself, almost useless on minecraft. Sure you'd have a fixed amount but there'd be no way to actually give it value, because it has very little on its own.

  9. In a dark cell, deep in the Luciensport Keep, the frame of a once lively man is found cold on the ground. He is clearly underfed and malnourished. Upon closer inspection the warden would deem him to be dead. The once prominent Archbishop of Cistercia was starved in the name of "heresy." Having liked the Bishop, the warden took the papers on his desk and published them, as the old fellow had instructed. I write this to you, the God-fearing people of the Empire, on the first day of my imprisonment. It is with great sorrow that I must relinquish my place on this earth. I assume that I will soon be killed. I am considered a threat to this false Pontiff and his henchman Peredono. Before my leave of this world, I would like to address the events that led to my imprisonment. Peredono had invited me to his keep to discuss our current state of affairs. He mentioned his distaste for Tobias I and asked my opinion of "His Holiness". I stated that "GOD will denounce this man(His Holiness) in time," in an effort to keep my true opinion vague. This statement, though it sounds traitorous, is grounded in truth. Just two weeks prior to this event I had caught Tobias I and an unknown male High Elf inappropriately fraternizing in the empty Luciensport cathedral. I was afraid for the future of our church should such a sodomite lead it, but I did not have evidence of this event. After all, who would take my word over the Pontiff's? Now, sitting in my cell, I realize that it matters not. GOD knows and sees all and Tobias I shall be punished in Hell. My final prayers will not be for my soul - it is pure - but for the soul of Tobias I. I hope that I have served you well, people of the Empire. DEUS VULT. Signed, Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Archbishop of Cistercia, Dean of State, Patriarch of the Synod and High Judge of the Court of Common Pleas
  10. I, Johannes Vos de Ruyter deny to admit to committing heresy, speaking blasphemy, and agreeing to plot about the murder of His Holiness Tobias I. Tobias I is incompetent, a sinner himself and unworthy of the Pointificate. Let a fair trial determine his worthiness and mine own.
  11. =\\ An Official Statement From the House de Ruyter //= It is with great sadness that we, the House de Ruyter, officially announce the disappearance of our relative Publius Bracchus de Ruyter. He has not been seen for nearly 3 months, now, and is presumed to be dead. Publius Bracchus de Ruyter was the Archchancellor of the Holy Oren Empire under the Emperor John I, may he rest in peace. His service to his country is immeasurable and his loyalty will go down in history. For this reason, we ask that the people of Oren show their gratefulness to their brother-in-arms Publius Bracchus by providing any information on his whereabouts or death. Those that provide information leading to his/his body's location will be lavishly rewarded. Deus Vult, Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Archbishop of Cistercia, High Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, and loving son of Publius Bracchus
  12. Luther Sullas considers making a return.
  13. Archbishop Johannes Vos de Ruyter of Cistercia officiates the ceremony despite his loss in the election. He seems dutiful, not grateful, but certainly dutiful and serene in the face of his one-vote defeat.
  14. Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Archbishop of Cistercia rises to the podium. His voice is clear and concise, cutting through all other side conversations. "Men of GOD, salutations. I, Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Dean of State, Archbishop of Cistercia and Pentarch of the Synod formally announce my candidacy for High Pointiff of the Church of the Canon. On this unfortunate day one of our own has fallen. However, we cannot cease to carry the word of GOD around the world and worlds beyond: The Church of the Canon will prevail in spreading His truth. In my time with the Church, I have gained valuable experience in both the matters of Theology and Administration. I ascended to the humble position of deacon with my revolutionary thesis "Citing the Canon." This thesis is not a statement of opinion on current events based on scripture, but rather it is a practical peace of work which will be used by men and women of God all around the world until the end of time. My time as deacon was short - His Holiness Everard the Second said that he noticed a drive in me that was potentially the future of the church. And so I rose to priest. He insisted on being my personal mentor and remained so until his unfortunate assassination, which included the death of Archbishop Adrian, who's Bishopric of Courland I was chosen to inherit despite my young age of thirty four. In Everard's time I was also elected to the Curia as Auditor of the Tribunal and to the Synod as a Pentarch. As Pentarch of the Synod, I elected the late Pope Lucien to the Pontificate despite numerous threats from those who feared his ascent. I knew in my heart that his work ethic would save the demoralized and powerless Church of the Canon. I was correct. Chruch activity standards were strengthened and Luciensport was constructed. In his time, I was transferred from Auditor of the Tribunal to Dean of State, trusted with the gold and funds of the Church. I was also transferred from the Bishopric of Courland to the Archbishopric of Cistercia which encompasses Vandoria. This transfer of bishoprics is a statement of my trustworthiness and effective ability to govern and lead. Vandoria includes the heretic lands of the Caliphate, where the great Lucien trusted myself to convert the populace and build a lasting legacy in the land. God's word is spreading in Vandoria, and so I trust that my grand track record in the Church will lead you to the right choice for High Pointiff - myself."
  15. "God Bless Pope Lucien. DEUS VULT!"

  18. After visiting Sanctuary, Luther Sullas would share his thoughts with his colleagues. "Despite our great precautions against impurity and the development of a Malinorian-esque state, we have failed. Meaningless scepters are waved around in a city infested with inferiors. The truth is, impurity has prevailed. The mali'thill race will go extinct and the development of a generic Elf will be complete within a century. maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, my colleagues, I take my leave now, to safeguard what is left of the teachings of Larihei."

  21. A quick response is penned. This is to be resolved with the investigator, Auditor of the Tribunal, Peredono. - Bishop Johannes of Courland
  22. A Public Statement: The Dean's Recommendation of Investigation It was through a whisper that my suspicion first arose. An elderly woman in the Felsen Square was telling of Seahelm, a town in the Norlandic region of Vailor, currently ruled by The House of Ruric. Her story was truly chilling; it spoke of pagan-worship and barbaric manners. Obviously I was already well aware of the issues prevalent in that area relating to barbarians and pagans, but that is not what caught my attention. At the end of her tale she mentioned that a Church had still not been erected in Seahelm despite House Ruric's declared loyalty to GOD, blessed be his name. I thought nothing of it - an old wives' tale, surely. Later in the week, as my mass came to a close and the congregation of St. Adrian's Chapel rose to donate their coin to GOD's cause, I heard yet another whisper from sailors in the congregation. They spoke of the godlessness of Seahelm, a petrifying town in the North. I inquired with them as to why they were categorizing a holding of the Noble House of Ruric in such a dark light. Their answer was simple - they had no Church to worship the almighty GOD for the sailors stopping by their port, much less for their own people. I was doubtful of this anecdote, but the lady in Felsen Square had told a similar story and so I decided to investigate for myself. Upon arriving in Seahelm, the evidence struck me immediately, before I had even entered the city itself. A large sign was lettered with the words: the All-Father is judging Who could this All-Father be? Certainly not the Lord God, for that is not his name. I decided to explore the frigid city of Seahelm further before drawing any conclusions. Sure enough, there was an auction house, a humble bank, and many a home. The city did not look barbaric in any way and was clearly civilized, surely the work of the Noble House of Ruric. However, there was no church. I walked throughout the city thrice and could not find a single Canonist House of Worship anywhere. Simply put, this is a crime against GOD. It is for this reason, Monsignor Auditor, that I recommend a full investigation is opened on the House of Ruric, this so-called All-Father, and their lack of a proper Church. ☩ Deus Vult ☩ Signed, His Eminence, Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Bishop of Courland, Dean of State in the Curia, Cardinal of the Synod, and High Judge of the Court of Common Pleas
