The Eternal Library of the Mali'aheral stands stark and silent as you delve deeper into its more obscure crevices. The nigh-infinite pages, some centuries in age, are stacked as neatly as possible. Some books are arranged by subject, or perhaps in alphabetical order. Yet many others are simply placed pell-mell inside the shelves, where some poor, beleaguered librarian simply gave up. As you pass by the shelves of books one by one, you spot one particularly old tome standing out from the others.

PBcgw6m.jpg

Unlike the mad organisation of the books around it, this one sits on its own upon a finely-decorated wooden podium. The cover of the book is made of a worn leather, upon it a faded picture of a stony-faced high elf gesturing outwardly at those who would look upon it. There is no title upon the spine, nor cover. High elves, after all, do not tend to explain that which should be obvious. Whoever would come to view this book obviously already knew what its contents contained.

Being unable to suppress your curiosity, you pull open the tome to examine the contents. The first page, arguably the most faded and yet still the most ornate, would be hard to read for the untrained eye. Yet were you to struggle through the cursive and beautiful lettering, it would read as thus--

The Bloodline Archive,
the written record of pure families within Haelun'or.

The purpose of the Mali'aheral is within the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Our philosophy stems both from our minds, and our blood.

Silver elves take heed: for the recording of one's family ensures the continuance of our people's health. Scribe your lineage for all to know, and ensure our prosperity for all eternity.

As you turn the first page, the lettering is almost immediately different than the original. Multiple family lines are shown on each page, and there is plenty of room for more additions. Shall you add to it?

This topic could be argued as semi-OOC due to how it's set out. Basically, it's a good place to describe your family bloodline and traits that tend to be passed down! Also, it's kinda neat! A few things that should be mentioned:

1) A family tree. There's a good/easy program for making these on
familyecho.com
2) A short recountment of the history your bloodline has. Maybe it's just a direct rip from the last VA you did or something. Doesn't have to be long, though!
3) Physical and personality traits that are unique to your bloodline!

4) If you're not a pure high elf citizen of Haelun'or, you can still make one here if you want to. Arguably so the pure ones may avoid you! :P
5) Anything else you think is relevant! I'll be doing my own on this first, so everyone has something to work off of if they're confused!

SULLAS

"Diligence in the face of ignorance."

SVGkzSK.png

37SuXr1.png

History

The Sullas family as it is has it's origins within Aegis, where a high elven couple made their way to Al'Khazar to work as managers/civil servants. These two were the parents of Lucion Sullas, whom both died during the great migration to Asulon, along with Lucion's two siblings. After a period of wandering, he came across the first iteration of Haelun'or, and has not left since. He was the only member of Haelun'or’s original government to have never been a citizen of Malinor.

He climbed the social ladder of Haelun'or, and quickly became a member of the Silver Council. After taking the position of Okarir'indor, he soon met his wife Celia Windsworn, and went on to procure a number of spawn. All of whom commit suicide, with the exception of Ionia Sullas.

Lucion Sullas continued to be a part of the High Elven governing body ever since his original appointment. During periods of political inactivity, his word carried a degree of authority regardless of his position. It is yet to be seen if the rest of his family will make a similar impact.

Traits

Those of the Sullas family tend to have tall faces, with hair ranging in lighter-greys to whites. Sometimes (rarely) one might come with blonde hair. Their heights remain average for high elves, around 6'3"- 6'6'', and tend to be thin, and pallid.

A Sullas is slow to anger, but easy to irritate. Magic, being only a recent addition to their family repertoire, is not one of their strong suites. The sciences tend to interest them far more. They have an eye for research, and a highly inquisitive disposition.

The Asul’Ailer family traces it lineage back to the realm of Asulon, descending from Juliet Sullas and Aranwe Lazul. As a result of their marriage, Celaena Lazul was born, and later married Arlanthir Asul’Ailer, son of Faenir and Ariana. Celaena and Arlanthir both lived actively in Haelun’or for some time; Arlanthir working as Councilman while Celaena ran an apothecary and practiced medicine. As a result of the Haelun’or schism in Asulon, Celaena and Arlanthir were forced to split from the Silver State. While living in Malinor, they birthed their sons Ceruberr and Saeldur.

Ceruberr was the first of the family to return to the path of purity in Lin’everal, advancing to Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild and holding an active influence within the community. After the destruction of Anthos, Ceruberr convinced his brother Saeldur to leave the Mages Guild and become a citizen of Haelun’or to help progress the family. Both Ceruberr and Saeldur have resided as citizens of the State since, continuing to actively practice their magic alongside other studies.

In terms of physical appearance, common traits include lengthy platinum colored hair accompanied by eyes of varying shades of green and blue. Asul’Ailer’s also exhibit pure mali’aheral traits such as a tall and lithe frames and fair pale skin. Their builds have developed over time from a slightly more muscular physique to a more nimble form due to their scholarly pursuits.

The Asul’Ailer family differs from many traditional mali’aheral families by leaning more towards the liberal side of High Elven culture. Most Asul’Ailer’s are curious, logical, and altruistic, having a desire to help others without want of reward nor praise. Despite these traits they continue to hold purity in the highest regard, and seek to further their own knowledge and progress in a variety of fields. As a result, many of the Asul’Ailer line have taken a considerable interest in the arcane, alchemy and politics. The Asul’Ailer family strongly values balance, the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya and the protection of their kin, and are not afraid to take action to defend those they hold in high regard.

The Aeléyèlsa Family

"Security in sufferance."

69fbe6424cddb49e6ca1ac4c0de4271c.png

Origins

Spoiler

The oldest recountance of a member of the Aeléyèlsa family is that of Aurea Aeléyèlsa. Her life chiefly consisted out of wandering the great world of Aegis and living in Laurehlin. Upon marrying Ker’Athri, they created the following Aeléyèlsa, Vallel’Yuln, or Yuln for short. The crossing to Asulon was made, yet not all stories can be happy. Aurea was soon brutally murdered by Mori. Yuln was left on her own.

Having grown up away from the Mali'Aheral population, young Yuln travelled around with a Mali'Ame for a while, learning the skill of archery from him. Their ways parted and shortly thereafter she travelled to the silver city to learn more of her lineage. She settled there and learned the Mali'Aheral ways, but some part of her roaming freedom always stuck to her and would lead to problems later in her life as she couldn't fully fit herself to the perfect Mali'Aheral standarts.

For a time she lived there peacefully. Watching the city being constructed around her, the process piqued her curiosity. While she watched this process she also travelled a lot. Unknowing of her mother's fate, she often ventured into the Moriquessir' caverns as she found that race fascinated her. However when tensions got high between their two races, her visits became few and far between until one day they were all gone.

Meanwhile she had become more involved in the construction of the city and had begun helping. Under orders of the city's leaders she renovated and reinforced the entire city wall. In the later parts of this process she even designed parts of the city's defenses, this was the beginning of her later career as architect.

During this job she got to know the city's farmer, Delonna. While they didn't initially talk much, eventually they became friends and she would often try to help him through hard times. Though this their relationship became more than friendship and they became lovers, eventually marrying him. From this marriage came the latest member of the family, their daughter Lelien.

Lelien was raised and educated by the highest standing Mali’aheral one could find in Haelun’or and quickly became the youngest Tilruir’indor there ever was at the age of 26. Years passed and the Mali’aheral made their way to Anthos. Yuln made friends with the wrong people and she got into complications that led to her becoming a monster, a Fjarriauga. The relationship between mother and daughter diminished nigh immediately. The relationship between her and her husband, however, did not.

The downfall of Lin’everal and the death of her partner, Acaele Lazul, caused Lelien to take up action within the Tomb. She stayed devoted to her position as Tilruir’indor, but decided that more had to be done to regain the power and glory the Mali’aheral once had. Lelien ran for Sohaer, and won for no one dared challenge her. Throughout the entirety of Lelien’s uprise, Yuln stayed sheltered in a cave.

The time of the Fringe was a horrid one. Sohaer Lelien Lazul frantically tried to keep Haelun’or a bastion of peace, yet was quickly undone. She stepped down in shame, and married Eleron Sylvaeri. The couple only lived for an Elven day before Lelien was beheaded and Eleron burnt at the stake by humans. Lelien was the last Aeléyèlsa, and the chance for another to come around is slim. Yuln is still alive, but infertile the way she is.

Some time later in the lands of Vailor, Lelien found herself exiled from her people due to the controversial disappearance of the Eternal Library (formerly constructed by her) following Lelien's defeat in the Sohaer elections against one Kalameet Izalith. During this period, she did reside in Oren where she encountered the former Sillumir, Avenel Synalli. Lelien later produced a child to the Synalli by the name 'Valmir'.

In light of Lelien's severe disapproval for human (specifically Orenian) lifestyle, she chose to take Valmir to Haelun'or very shortly after recovering from her pregancy. There the child would be raised by his grandparents, Vallel'Yuln and Delonna who at the time served as Tilruir'leyun and Tilruir'indor of the Silver Council for the next ten years until they were eventually forced to depart from the Silver City in order to aid the Izalith family's endeavour to found the new city state of Celein, serving as the main architectural and building forces alongside the other houses, Siil'crux, Setheren and Acal'elor.

Some time later Valmir, currently residing with Avenel (the court wizard of the Savoyards) in Oren was contacted by Lelien, whom extended an invitation to the pair to move to Celien as a family alongside Vallel'Yuln and Delonna. The following years were difficult in the wretched city - resulting eventually in the seperation of Avenel and Lelien and the return of Valmir (In his adolescence at the time) to his grandparents' care.

Traits

Spoiler

The most striking trait of an Aeléyèlsa is the orange hair dominant in all of the bloodline's females. Eye colour ranges from sapphire-blue to the occasional jade-green. They very often possess ears longer than the average Mali'aheral. Personality wise, the Aeléyèlsa’s are kind and loving on the outside and to those whom they care for, yet ruthless to those who cross them.

Bloodline Tree

Bloodline Origins

Spoiler

The Glaeus bloodline starts with a more reclusive lineage… The Vul’athri.

The Vul’athri family long lived isolated from the rest of the High Elven folk. In their eyes, the rest of the Mali’aheral were of doubtful purity and they would not deign to live with them.Vellulaei’thill Vul’athri is the first of his family to rejoin High Elven society.

There are few recordings of their history that are still possessed. One of the most important is the tale of Trelingor Vul’athri, son of Fralan and Trolli Vul’athri.

Whilst he did marry, he had no other interest but the pursuit of purity. As he grew older he became paranoid and began to doubt the purity of those around him. In his final years, when he led the noble family, he liquidated all remaining members but his son. He eliminated his wife, her parents and his brother. Unfortunately his parents were already deceased.

He raised Galamil Vul’athri and Vellulaei Vul’athri  properly and taught them the true values of the Mali’aheral.

Vellulaei Vul’athri soon met Praiten Glaeus, a man of very few words and they conversed making the capstone of the Glaeus family, Serai Glaeus. The Glaeus bloodline was one that prefered seclusion for many years, just as the Vul’athri did. Serai grew disdainful of her fellow high elven compatriots, finding them to be far from the path of purity. Although, she eventually met an elven man named Dreagor who took on her family bloodline name. Together, they got married and had Imin Glaeus and Gildor Glaeus, two of the most patriotic high elves from the Silver State of Haelun’or. The oldest, Imin Glaeus was a musician before he was called into the Vigil… a wanderer of sorts. He would reluctantly join the this new high elven order to protect the values of elven culture and eventually would become the head of this order. Although, his time in the vigil turned him bitter and resentful of impurity. Ironically, his resent would eventually result in his demise. One day, the Vigil captured a high elven prisoner who carried a wood elven baby. Imin couldn’t stand the fact of her impurity and took it upon himself to end the baby’s life with a stab. Little did he know this baby belonged to a Dreadlandic prince and knowing he was to be slaughtered before many of his friends he sacrificed himself to be executed.

His brother Gildor is another story. He joined alongside his brother and eventually would rise to be an officer. However he was put on a Celein outpost, making him grow resentful of other Vigil soldiers due to the harsh forest heats and wilderness attacks. Nonetheless this experience made him a hardened combatant and survivalist, as he soon after took the rank his brother once had; along with joining the council, becoming the builder of Haelun’or. The other family members… well that is a tale for another time…

For Glaeus blood runs deep and strong...

Bloodline Physical Traits & Personalities

Spoiler

The Glaeus bloodline runs deep and strong back to the first high elves in existence.

The Glaeus bloodline falls into the trend of having golden hair and blue eyes...while very rarely some possessing white hair, and a thicker physique just as The Vul’athri have before them for many generations. While many of the Glaeus bloodline can keep a keen tempered head and only attacking with precise power at perfect times when they see fit like a snake; Some are impatient and do not like to waste their time with whatever they seem unfit to use their time. Their height usually rounds out at about 6'0-6'3 for females, and 6'3-6'6 for males.

Physically, they are strong boned and thicker than most high elven ‘thill families due to the Vul’athri’s selective breeding within their families; Only the purest and strongest survived. So pure in fact, the main bloodline it is not unheard of having golden eyes, which they attribute to the perfect symbol of their purity and connection to the golden pools.

3d.png

Golden eyes of a Glaeus.

Those who have these eye colors are usually attributed to be great leaders and these Glaeus’ are held with high regard and respect. A Glaeus must always be born with golden or white hair, This is shown as a sign of utmost purity within the family and strength as a whole.

Personality-wise, the Glaeus bloodline seems to fall into two categories. One is quiet but has potential for furiosity, and the other is ill-tempered and tends to complain.  They wear loose (sometimes ornate) wilderness esque clothing to show their pride of their mastery of the elements and exercise their skill outside the walls of the city of Haelun’or. They tend to not trust those around them and always keep a watchful eye for any dissidence or betrayal. No matter how small they will always see this as a personal attack on them or their family.

They are (in their minds) the purest high elven family through selective breeding there is.

Bloodline Traditions

Spoiler

This section is dedicated to the traditions that the Glaeus family have made from their own experiences and those passed on from the Vul’athri bloodline. This includes their uses of poison.  Many see this as odd but they admire how the snake, so small, can kill those much bigger with their venom. Those who escape the wrath of a Glaeus must always keep an antidote. Another tradition, inherited from the Vul’athri family, is the act of liquidating family members. Selective breeding has a nasty side and those unfit or impure in the bloodline may wake up one day in a bat of acid.

Bloodline Connection to Vul’athri

Spoiler

This section is to remedy the connection between Vellulaei Vul’athri and Praiten Glaeus for it is caste in mystery. Old books state they were once together for a time or maybe until they both died. Yet other sources say their relationship was one of unbalance. Whatever it may be, this is where the Glaeus family started under their reunification with the Silver State and not in seclusion any longer.

Bloodline Color Scheme

Spoiler

This section showcases the color schemes the Glaeus bloodline exercise. These colors are red, gold, black, green, brown and white. Red symbolizes their pride in their pure blood running through their veins. Gold demonstrates their love of their connection to the golden pools. Black shows their wisdom of many things, from high elven culture to basic survival techniques exercised within the bloodline. Green shows a love for nature and the arcane. Brown portrays their love of  their mastery over wilderness. White expresses their purity.

Nirn

"Learn to see with the mind"

-Origin-

Spoiler

The Nirn family begins in the time of Aegis, with the union between Etharion Nirn and his wife Laûna.
This couple, was engaged in trade, being very influential in the community at that time.
Of them they were born Erundur Nirn and Diherôth Nirn, these two brothers learned the art of the magic, because the commerce did not call the attention to them. They joined the guild of magicians under the tutelage of the archmage Cataris, thus they became great magicians.

Diherôth Nirn, had great talent for magic, Cataris fixed on him, and began to train him in a personal way.
Erundur, did not stay far behind, his research, his cold mind and his ability to analyze the advantages of his surroundings made him a fearsome magician ... but he did not get along too well with Cataris, so he did not receive the same attention as his brother.

Erundur left the guild of magicians, because he wanted to forge a family. In Haelun'or he met his future wife, Valadhiel, with whom he married and had three sons and a daughter: Loranthir, Yas'uil, Ecthelion and Valya.

Erundur and his brother had distanced themselves, for Diherôth had remained affiliated with the guild, fulfilling their longing for power.

One day, a letter from Diherôth came to Erundur, in this, his brother wanted to have a conversation alone in a place near the guild of magicians.

Arriving, Erundur passed through the guild and learned that Cataris had died, then went to meet his brother.

In this meeting, both brothers faced each other, for Diherôth wanted to force Erundur to join him to create an association of dark magic, Erundur refused and Diherôth attacked him with a spell that Erundur responded with another. Finally, both died.

Currently, the family does not have as much presence in the community as before and there are few members interested in magic, but it remains a respected Haelun'or family.

-Traits-

The Return

Dragaar Aldirar, being born of Illitran and Cypris Aldirar, returned to the silver city of Haelun’or with the intentions of serving as any member of the bloodline have in mind. Once returning, he had obtained a home for himself and Liranni, immediately joining the Weeping Blades as a base to server. Unfortunately Dragaar found the guardforce leadership lacking and found himself unable to sit by, eventually challenging and succeeding, thus taking on the title of Okarir’tir.

Appearance

Within the Aldirar family there are a small range of possible appearances that one may find themselves, however the mainline and most dominant traits found within the family are pure snow white hair and various shadings of purple irises. Whilst the eyes tend to stick between the dominant shades of purple, or the lesser seen shades of blue, the hair of Aldirar can be anything from the dominant snow white, to wizened glittering silver, and even gentle wheat like blonde.

Culture

The bloodline’s words encapsulate the very culture that is cultivated within the family, every member is expected to situate themselves within the silver city of Haelun’or, and find themselves a position of work within. Any member who has ever put their loyalty or their service elsewhere are blackmarked and disowned from the bloodline, disallowing them any right bearing the name. As the family holds such high value upon loyalty and service, so too is leadership of the family passed onto the member who holds a higher position of service within Haelun’or, rather than through children and first borns.
