  1. Maimed and still yet recuperating after the boomsteel attack, Father Cyril Eloi Halcourt would be read the bull bedside as he simply gazed out the window. Many good men had made an arduous journey, only to have perished on the fateful day of the Diet. Before the attendant left, he would send word through them to Jude II, congratulating him on his ascension. Eventually, he would get a scribe bedside to see a proper letter written to the man...

  3. Cyril writhed bedside after the bombing in Karosgrad square, his teeth falling asunder from his mouth each time he opened it to wail. Such madness befell the church...

  5. Forgoing the Foolhardy: A Call to the Diet of Karosgrad A depiction of apprehensive Canonists at the Call for Crusade by Owyn III in Providence. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ To the faithful laity of the Holy Mother Church, Since the time Laurence Jrent has assumed the robes of the late High Pontiff James II, controversy and scandal has wracked our Church. Despite his pride and vanity, he ascended - and despite his breaking of Canon law and contempt of it, he remains. Fashioning himself a Crusader-King for years now, it should be no shock that he now attempts to justify the title by calling for a Crusade at the first offence. Despite facing 11 Inculpations, offending the Crowns of the Canonist nations, and fierce disdain for the concerns of the laity, he bids us to battle. Truly, why do you suppose it is not the Fidei Defensor speaking for themselves, but this man racing to call for a Crusade that is the official reaction to the events at the Palace? It was not a matter of unity, but being first - Laurence is an opportunist and sought to have the first and last word on the matter. Perhaps it is not the opinions of any Crown that concerns him... No longer is it appropriate for us to abide by our indolence and allow him to divide and terrorize the Faithful in his overt and brazen desire to secure for himself a legacy derived from worldly hubris and subjugate the Church and Faithful alike to his ambitions in becoming as a second John of Darfey. After meddling so deeply in Secular affairs, and clearing the Lord’s Church of the worried cries of pious and faithful Canonists, we seek to right these wrongs before more become martyrs and our Cross falls further from grace. Heed the call, Clergy and Kings, to the Diet of Karosgrad at the Basilica of St. Henrik. Presided over for our safety by the fair Koeng Henrik II ( @Rudi) of Haense. May we venture no further from piety, and lay to rest these issues that degrade our temporal authority, and close with a prayer: O Saint Emma of Woldzmir, you who fought schismatics that threatened the very fabric of our Holy Mother Church, grant us now valor and the will to forever fight against the Evil Deceiver that has infiltrated The Church. Let us not be afraid to take up our swords and defend what is true and right. Pray for thy Church, pray for the Canonist nations, and pray for unity for our sake. Through the prayers and intercessions of the holy prophets, The Mother of Peace Saint Julia, Saint Emma of Woldzmir, Blessed Seraphim of Leora, and of all the saints, Lord have mercy on us and save us. Amen. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ An invitation is delivered to each ordained Canonist clergy, as well as the Holy Orenian Emperor (@Hunwald) , informing them that they are invited to the Diet of Karosgrad. Laity are allowed to spectate, with permission of the Guard. ((Saturday February 6th, 4PM EST))
  6. "Important considerations..." Cyril Cardinal St. Publius said, his brows furrowed even after he was done reading. "Some of these events, no one can be pleased with in good conscience. I pray Benedict continues to represent Jorenus so well - some of the best and brightest hail from Haense."
  7. Opting to sit in silence and not disrupt the proceedings, Cyril looked upon things quietly. Perhaps it was being shaved that led him to be incognito thus far, but he chose to arise finally - he spoke rather briefly. "Brothers, I will not assail your sense with long winded speeches to explain each of these: I.) NAY: There has been no question, until the the Pontiff has been the subject of an inquiry, about the state of Canon law. We recently added many laws and clarified many of these issues at the end of James II's reign, and if Owyn felt so inclined, he could have amended these so called issues he saw not long ago. II.) Aye: These Archdiocese can easily represent, generally, the largest conglomerations of traditionally Heartlander and Highlander Canonists. III.) NAY: Simply having those assuming the roles given to them issue a mission statement should make clear what they are doing - why restrict what they do further? IV.) NAY: It is foolish to make such a sacred matters more lax because there was not due diligence done on affirming miracles of current Saints. It's those Saints that need review, not the measures we have used for time in memorium to decide them! V.) NAY: Imagine if John of Darfey possessed this power... No. Owyn's conflict of interest here as well, to rush for such a motion before his own inquiry, shows that this is not a matter of reinforcing temporal authority, but his own. This, as well as the first proposal, make this rather apparent. VI.) Aye: Papal brief are informative. VII.) NAY: Hardly necessary, simply affirm them in the Bulls should you wish. IX.) NAY: Had you cited this, the first proposal, and the fifth back to back, one would assume you hold Canon law and its verdicts in contempt. XIV.) Aye: A sound idea. XV.) Aye: Perhaps some clarification is due, though I generally agree. XVI.) Aye: This proposal addresses the Canon Law question coherently - and legally. I would abstain in favour of another, should one have a simpler or more transparent method is suggested. XVII.) NAY: Let a sinner do their due penance, let the tithes collect the minae we need. Seating himself again, having outted himself to his peers, Cyril would keep his arms crossed, eying whomever else spoke afterwards.
  8. Think this was the spoon you meant but I agree yes
  9. [!] Word would spread quickly across the lands - that of charges against a Clergyman. Following the news of Cyril Cardinal St. Publius’ arrest, one might assume it was his. Alas, they are not - the missive penned by him against the reigning High Pontiff, and reading as follows: [!] Owyn’s 11 Inculpations Or: Each breach of Canon Law committed by Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa An acolyte pinning Owyn’s 11 Inculpations to the door of the Basilica of the Ascent of Ex. Godfrey, 12th of the Deep Cold 1803 Hark good folk, for I alert you to the many crimes of he who reigns as Owyn III. Crimes against the very church he supposes he runs in good faith. Let yourself not be duped, and us all bring to light these crimes - with prayers that they shall be taken to court. They are as follows: Book I, Title I §9. This codex is definitive and binding. No power shall contravene or alter it, unless it be instituted in ecumenical council. Regardless of the legitimacy of his claim to the High Pontificate, Laurence (also referred to as Owyn III) still remains a subject of canon law, as established in the Council of Providence. Title V, Chapter Two §4. Entry to a church is free and unlimited to the faithful. On numerous occasions doors to the basilica in providence have been locked, Cyril Cardinal St. Publius was barred entry to the Basilica in Providence and forcibly removed, orders prompted by Laurence. Furthermore, no other clergymen have held services other than Father Dima and Cyril in said Church since the inauguration of Owyn III, aggravating this issue. §5. All acts of worship may occur in a church that has been consecrated. Cyril was holding mass, but this was interrupted by those sent by Owyn III to detain and forcibly remove Cyril from the basilica. He and the flock were prevented from concluding the sermon or holding a prayer, himself removed and arrested for the petty charge of trespassing. Title II, Chapter One §3. A person who practices dark magics or devilry has committed a crime Laurence’s reanimation can only be due to the acts of foul devilry, the work of Iblees. This has led to his insistence of hiding from the public and acting through agents whilst feigning illness. §12. A person who conspires or attempts to commit a breach of canon law has committed a crime. - Addressed with the following charge. §13. A person who encourages or commands the breach of canon law has committed a crime. Laurence orders his clergymen to disregard canon law in regards to the laws that he has broken, by doing this he encourages others to break Canon Law. Constantly flouting these laws has led to his clergy to follow suit. Be it the several Canon Laws broken by Pontifical Chamberlain to publicly humiliate Princess Henrietta, or the innumerable times they clergy have been asked to lock the faithful out of Churches without just cause, it goes without question they operate with no regard or outright contempt of Canon Law. Title II, Chapter Three §4. A person who unjustly prevents a pastor from exercising their authorities or celebrating sacraments has committed a crime. Cyril is an ordained clergyman with the ability to hold mass, but he was unjustly prevented from exercising this authority when Owyn III’s men forcibly ejected him from the Basilica of the Ascent of Ex. Godfrey. §5. A person who insults or threatens a cleric has committed a crime. He had also unreservedly insulted and spoke ill of several attempting to seek reconciliation, slandering without reserve Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, Father Dima, the deceased Father Goren, and Father Alfred. Had Johann Cardinal Vuiller been a cleric, we would include his threats and insults to him as well. §12. A person who misuses ecclesiastical authority for the furtherance of personal interests has committed a crime. Several questionable appointments and insider trading of positions of the Church have been brought to light with the inclusion of many freshly ordained cronies as those who have questioned Laurence’s virtue are removed. Furthermore, innumerable folk without any prior experience or connection to the Church have supplanted long standing loyal members from their positions, such as Johann Vuiller for one Armande-Phillipe. Title III §8. Terms of penance are issued as a means of purification and the rectification of the spirit, not as a form of vengeance. Laurence demanded that Johan’s penance be that he resign from his position for his involvement in the so-called schism, he requested this penance be public also. This penance does not fit the confession as it is an act of vengeance to humiliate the Cardinal and circumvent a just course of action. Furthermore, it came to light that after receiving this penance, that he demanded as the terms for reconciliation was the resignation of Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, showing a clear conflict of interest from Laurence. Title VI, Chapter Two §4. It is forbidden that one who has obtained the clerical state should be returned to life by magic. The reanimation of Laurence after the events in the gardens of the Basilica in providence contravenes canon law. With many witnesses, this is irrefutable - and is an ongoing flouting of the Canon Law he had so recently approved himself. Should he believe himself to be righteous, let him accept trial as Father Dima and myself accepted his. Good men of the Church, none of us are above Canon Law - form the court necessary to see this justly addressed, lest we all be damned. Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa, consider this your summons to court. In Nomine Dei, Cyril Cardinal St. Publius
  10. "You would assume they would have some discretion after all of the scandals they have managed to partake in so far." Commented Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, readying for a wedding. "How wayward they are - perhaps they did not invite her to confession, because they had no use of manipulating her with penance. A shame on our Church."
  11. Though the issues of the day - of the years now still weighed heavily upon him, Cyril's spirit was not broken. For there was a light shining in the darkness, that light being GOD.
  12. In Layman's Terms How Cardinal Albarosa removes dignity from our Church. Ridiculous missives have been a point of pride for this Church. The delusions were so elaborate that they would write essays on them. I do not want the good people to misunderstand what I am to say - I, Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, along with the fair laymen of our Church, do not recognize the authority he presumed to have over our fair Church, and call now to question what Canonical legal authority that it is maintained upon. Upon the Cardinal being confronted during the catalytic protests, and with over a hundred folk decrying his name, he could not face these matters himself, cowering behind poor Manfried Cardinal St. Julia and Amadeus Cardinal Sutica. Injudicious were their efforts to give me pause. Without any self awareness, he held the masses in the same contempt that they held him. Within the gardens of the Providence Cathedral, I was assailed - and prevailed. Foolishly, I was beset upon whence I was to reconcile these differences. Having sought the protection from the men of Eastwood and the Goats of Sedan, we bested these would be assassins. To everyone I have to ask: How could a man, drenched in such sin, have any virtue to speak of? Defining virtue differently from me, it was quickly asserted it was his political acumen that the Church required. After naming a mule after our late Empress and having all his privileges revoked over petty matters, do note that his secular abilities themselves were grossly overstated, and unrelated, to the office he tried to hold. Those very same Cardinals he cowered behind in Karosgrad had asked me to give up all of my authority for the sake of peace... For the sake of peace? Verily, children of God, while I have respect for these two Cardinals, compromise with Iblees’ puppet on their false Pontificate Throne is not a peace any good Canonist seeks. How now do they suppose there will be peace, when it is only ignorance to his heinous acts that prevented outrage to them? Against all odds, we were acquitted in the very trial he arranged in regard to our actions and the Apparition of Seraphim. They then, in pitiful anger, accused me of being involved then after his death. Not only does he besmirch my name, the very Cardinal he is justly to acknowledge, but this foolish assertion besmirches the name of the entire Church. Only he had a motive to see him die, presumably for failing to give his unjust verdict. Despite this all, I have shown patience and mercy, to not allow a schism, hoping reason would reign supreme. As evil does though, without just arms seeking to vanquish it, the spread goes unchecked - he has invited Cardinal Vuiller for an audience, only to manipulate him into resignation. Vindictive over the triumph of justice, he ridded the Church of virtuous men. In layman's terms, we do not and will no longer entertain Laurence's farcical Pontificate. In Nomine Dei, Cyril Cardinal St. Publius Father Dima Carrion
  13. Name: Cyril Eloi Halcourt Age: 42 Gender: Male Experience: Mountaineering on Mont St. Catharine, travels across Norland, pilgrimages across many lands - all of which I can elaborate on with you.
  14. "Perhaps he could not hear from within the Church, but he had not the support of the people of Haense - had he faced that crowd, he would have known better." Said Cardinal St. Publius to his peers, themselves all weary from the protests, trial, and ensuing drama. "Had his head popped out the door, perhaps he would have shared the fate of his kinsman who assailed his own daughter in the square - the most violent act of the day. What shame! His men ought to be honest with him, this missive seems to come from a place of delusion."
  15. "Praise be to Lawyer Hubert - you would assume Seraphim appeared before him too, so impassioned were his prose." Commented Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, a broad smile splaying across his visage before returning his gaze to many more missives that reached him over the day's events...
  16. Receiving the missive, Cyril Eloi Halcourt would be appalled by the claims of Beatrice - the aide in which he humoured at James II’s final moments. He would begin down the rabbit hole by sending her a letter...
  17. Or so he had thought, the courier meant to deliver his vote seemed to have never found his way to Providence...
  18. Riding out towards Norland, Cyril Eloi Halcourt reflected after he had cast his vote, amazed by the things he had saw by James II's side as he passed. "What say you then, Father - is it the end of an era?" Inquired a nosey carriage driver to the aloof looking man. "With the turn of the Century over Tuvmas time, our Holy Father's passing..." Reclining, he would sigh as he looked out the window and pondered for a time. "Yes... Let us hope it is the bright dawn of something new."
