[!] Word would spread quickly across the lands - that of charges against a Clergyman. Following the news of Cyril Cardinal St. Publius’ arrest, one might assume it was his. Alas, they are not - the missive penned by him against the reigning High Pontiff, and reading as follows: [!]
Owyn’s 11 Inculpations
Or: Each breach of Canon Law committed by Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa
An acolyte pinning Owyn’s 11 Inculpations to the door of the Basilica of the Ascent of Ex. Godfrey, 12th of the Deep Cold 1803
Hark good folk, for I alert you to the many crimes of he who reigns as Owyn III. Crimes against the very church he supposes he runs in good faith. Let yourself not be duped, and us all bring to light these crimes - with prayers that they shall be taken to court. They are as follows:
Book I, Title I
§9. This codex is definitive and binding. No power shall contravene or alter it, unless it be instituted in ecumenical council.
Regardless of the legitimacy of his claim to the High Pontificate, Laurence (also referred to as Owyn III) still remains a subject of canon law, as established in the Council of Providence.
Title V, Chapter Two
§4. Entry to a church is free and unlimited to the faithful.
On numerous occasions doors to the basilica in providence have been locked, Cyril Cardinal St. Publius was barred entry to the Basilica in Providence and forcibly removed, orders prompted by Laurence. Furthermore, no other clergymen have held services other than Father Dima and Cyril in said Church since the inauguration of Owyn III, aggravating this issue.
§5. All acts of worship may occur in a church that has been consecrated.
Cyril was holding mass, but this was interrupted by those sent by Owyn III to detain and forcibly remove Cyril from the basilica. He and the flock were prevented from concluding the sermon or holding a prayer, himself removed and arrested for the petty charge of trespassing.
Title II, Chapter One
§3. A person who practices dark magics or devilry has committed a crime
Laurence’s reanimation can only be due to the acts of foul devilry, the work of Iblees. This has led to his insistence of hiding from the public and acting through agents whilst feigning illness.
§12. A person who conspires or attempts to commit a breach of canon law has committed a crime. - Addressed with the following charge.
§13. A person who encourages or commands the breach of canon law has committed a crime.
Laurence orders his clergymen to disregard canon law in regards to the laws that he has broken, by doing this he encourages others to break Canon Law. Constantly flouting these laws has led to his clergy to follow suit. Be it the several Canon Laws broken by Pontifical Chamberlain to publicly humiliate Princess Henrietta, or the innumerable times they clergy have been asked to lock the faithful out of Churches without just cause, it goes without question they operate with no regard or outright contempt of Canon Law.
Title II, Chapter Three
§4. A person who unjustly prevents a pastor from exercising their authorities or celebrating sacraments has committed a crime.
Cyril is an ordained clergyman with the ability to hold mass, but he was unjustly prevented from exercising this authority when Owyn III’s men forcibly ejected him from the Basilica of the Ascent of Ex. Godfrey.
§5. A person who insults or threatens a cleric has committed a crime.
He had also unreservedly insulted and spoke ill of several attempting to seek reconciliation, slandering without reserve Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, Father Dima, the deceased Father Goren, and Father Alfred. Had Johann Cardinal Vuiller been a cleric, we would include his threats and insults to him as well.
§12. A person who misuses ecclesiastical authority for the furtherance of personal interests has committed a crime.
Several questionable appointments and insider trading of positions of the Church have been brought to light with the inclusion of many freshly ordained cronies as those who have questioned Laurence’s virtue are removed. Furthermore, innumerable folk without any prior experience or connection to the Church have supplanted long standing loyal members from their positions, such as Johann Vuiller for one Armande-Phillipe.
Title III
§8. Terms of penance are issued as a means of purification and the rectification of the spirit, not as a form of vengeance.
Laurence demanded that Johan’s penance be that he resign from his position for his involvement in the so-called schism, he requested this penance be public also. This penance does not fit the confession as it is an act of vengeance to humiliate the Cardinal and circumvent a just course of action. Furthermore, it came to light that after receiving this penance, that he demanded as the terms for reconciliation was the resignation of Cyril Cardinal St. Publius, showing a clear conflict of interest from Laurence.
Title VI, Chapter Two
§4. It is forbidden that one who has obtained the clerical state should be returned to life by magic.
The reanimation of Laurence after the events in the gardens of the Basilica in providence contravenes canon law. With many witnesses, this is irrefutable - and is an ongoing flouting of the Canon Law he had so recently approved himself.
Should he believe himself to be righteous, let him accept trial as Father Dima and myself accepted his. Good men of the Church, none of us are above Canon Law - form the court necessary to see this justly addressed, lest we all be damned. Laurence Pruvia-Albarosa, consider this your summons to court.
In Nomine Dei,
Cyril Cardinal St. Publius
