1st Brigade, the Empire’s Hammer The First Brigade is the largest in the Imperial State Army. Composing of several different companies. They are based in Providence, and are tasked with defending the Imperial Capital and garrisoning the Bastion. Mostly made up of Infantry, they are the backbone of the ISA. First into battle they are given the honor of carrying the Imperial Standard. The Brigade is made up of three companies with several specializations that can be picked. First Company Composed of the basic infantry of the Empire, these men serve as the main body of the 1st brigade. They are filled with battle hardened soldiers, and are given the honor of carrying the Imperial Standard. Included in this brigade are the houndhandlers tasked with the training and caring for the Imperial Dogs of war. Second Company The Imperial Grenadiers are the pride of the 1st Brigade. Composed of elite shock infantry, who are given the newest and best of the weapons from the fifth Brigade. They are often tasked to deal with missions alone and with limited supplies, but through their training and skill they achieve their goal. In order to become a grenadier one must achieve the rank of Private First Class and pass through the Grenadier training course. Third Company The newest addition to the 1st Brigade, after a long period of inactivity the Imperial State Navy is reborn in the form of a third company. Stationed in Henry’s Wharf they maintain and sail the Imperial Naval ships. Billets Drillmaster - In charge of handling training for the whole regiment, they must prepare the ISA for battle. They organize who is leading which training and set up a schedule. Taskmaster - Gives tasks and missions for the soldiers, they must keep the ISA busy with events. Quartermaster - Most likely the billet with the most work; they equip the Imperial Army, keep the storage filled, and record all material. House of Lords Ruling on House Carrington 18th of Harren’s Folly, 1821 With the recent announcement from the Baron Wilhelm of Carrington, that their younger brother Simon Bastille is in fact a bastard of their father born out of wedlock. The House of Lords summoned Baron Wilhelm, Simon, and their mother Anna Henrietta of Purvia. Claims Simon Bastille is actually the son of Baron Charles of Carrington and his mistress Eudora Mildred. Meaning they are in fact an illegitimate child and should be removed from the succession. Wilhelm presented a letter supposedly from their late father confessing to an affair and having a child with Eudora Mildred. Defendant’s Defense That Wilhelm and his mother Anna Henrietta lied and conspired against Simon to disown him. The letter supposedly from the late Baron Charles didn’t include the actual name or gender of the baby. Nor did it list a day, meaning this could be any child or one not known. The Duties of the Nobility 703.02 clearly outlines that “The duty to maintain the faith of Canonism within their estates, to maintain orthodox views, and to uphold clerical teaching and law within their estates.” The defendants claim this was broken when Anna Henrietta also encouraged her other offspring such as Wilhelm to hide said details if these claims were true. These hidden factors have prevented the young Simon Bastille from repenting to GOD for his status as a bastard as well as introducing him into society as a peerage when he was in fact not one. Thus, not only had Dame Anna Pruvia lied to fellow peers when it came to introducing her ‘son’ to society as a nobleman. Ruling After long testimonies and hearing from both sides, the House of Lords met in private to debate the matter. They ruled that Simon Bastille was in fact a legitimate offspring of Baron Charles of Carrington and Anna Henrietta, but also that Wilhem, along with their mother knowingly and willingly lied, presented false evidence under oath. As such, in a majority opinion they saw to punish Wilhelm Lucius d’Arkent by stripping them of their title, and passing to the next in line. Their brother John Leopold d’Arkent then refused and instead it was granted to the youngest brother Simon Bastille d’Arkent. Anna Henrietta was stripped of their Dame title as well for her part. With the recent letter published by the Baron of Carrington concerning Simon’s parentage and legitimacy, the House sees fit to rule on this matter as its power to settle inheritance disputes and legitimization. The House of Lords will allow both sides to present their evidence and cases concerning the legitimacy of Simon Bastille. The date and time of the hearing will be decided privately with both parties. House of Lords Ruling on Viathan Aleksandr Othaman 8th of Sun's Smile, 1821 Following a letter sent by Kelhus Vladimir Othaman to the Lord Speaker of the House of Lords, within the letter Kelhus claimed their older brother Viathan Aleksandr Othaman was in fact illegitimate and a pagan. All parties involved were summoned to the House of Lords for a hearing to settle the matter. Claims Kelhus claimed their brother was in fact a bastard born out of wedlock by their late father Sergei Othaman. They reported seeing their older brother Viathan slip away to perform pagan ceremonies and was in fact a member of the Red Faith. Defendant’s Defense They proved in a letter from the former Countess-Consort of Valles that they were in fact the legitimate son between Elizabeth Azareal Winter and Sergei Othaman. Claimed to be in fact a devout canonist, and denied any links to the Red Faith or pagan worship. Ruling After hearing both from Kelhus Othaman, Viathan Othamn, and their grandfather Count Erik of Valles. The House of Lords debated and ultimately remained unconvinced of the claims made by Kehlus Othaman. They found Viathan Othaman in fact the legitimate son of Sergei Othaman and a true Canonist.
