Since when are these few npcs trying to make MINECRAFT mechanical combat on this MINECRAFT roleplay server be seen as a bad thing LOOOL. there's more to MINECRAFT than a chatbox.

orcs, including shamanism and cultural stuff, is all very pointed inward and self contained
its hard to motivate other playerbases and players to join you if it’s so much of the same and innovation only comes from “are we Warcraft orcs, elder scrolls orcs, or warhammer orcs today?”
blah hard requirement removal is a BLESSING because wanting players to make serious characters with depth when they sound like they eat glue is really hard. good luck tho hope you guys survive maybe try eating some halflings !

I feel like as time goes on we're starting to see less and less consistent, passive RP in the activity hubs and more and more afk standing or running around in circles - I feel like every time I try to RP with strangers they're either totally afk or there's just no interest at all. I've always experienced the opposite with post-map transitions where RP seems to be at its peak, but with Braevos it still feels like we're at the end of last map when RP momentum was at its lowest. Might be really anecdotal and I could just be not trying hard enough, but has anyone else experienced this?

as said above— discord has absolutely gutted dynamic rp.
EVERYTHING is organized through discord. “EVENT AT THIS TIME. make sure you do this. THIS channel has everything you need in it.”
the worst part tho is because it’s standard practice, if you don’t do it, ur settlement will probably not do as well as others.

in reality I think from the top down LoTC would thrive more if the powers that be didn’t frame this as a political sim but as city states struggling for survival in a cruel world
player pop would make more sense and you wouldn’t have stupid kingdoms that are ghost towns and **** measuring
you’d also be able to do away with tile hoarding and vassal spam for the sake of “””activity””” and muh buffer against whatever is being coalitioned against
