Definitions
Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! Plagiarizing will result in the automatic denial of your application!
What is roleplaying?: Sorta like acting; but without a script. You play as a character; taking into account their background, personality and traits.
What is metagaming?: Dramatic irony but in a game. You know something that the character doesn't, but metagaming is where the character somehow knows something he/she is not supposed to know; or does not come by it in a logical fashion in their environment. Sorta like GoT characters knowing when they will die.
What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Another form of meta-gaming, but where the abuser does not take into account of the environment and laws of the game, but instead just does something for self-interest. Sorta like being inconsiderate kid. An example is "Player X steals money from Player Y". A more acceptable version is "Player X (with no skill in thieving), sneaks up to Player Y with the desire to pickpocket" and "Player Y, (having a reputable experience in catching thieves and is a guard), aims his crossbow at Player X's head).

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.)
Born from a brief fling between a Hanseti warrior and Farfolk woman (1523), Douglas was sent to an orphanage at Nordwen at a young age and raised as a highlander. His lack of parentage rarely affected him though; finding solace with his fellow orphans but it left him unbound to any tradition or anything whatsoever. Due to his free lanced nature, Douglas worked at a tavern as a waiter and a budding tavern musician during his teens to earn some pocket money and serve his interest as a no-good busybody. Occasionally he would hear a maddened wood elf complaining about his mushrooms, dwarves fretting over a new gold mine, hearthlander couples accusing each other adultery, and observing a lonely dark elf downing shots of strong alcohol whilst muttering to himself. He would sometimes listen to Orc banter prolonged enough that he would return back speaking gibberish Blah to his fellow confused orphans as a joke. He was an laidback foolish boy back then, and still is. After reaching his age of maturity, and being tired of getting punted out of the tavern for his high pitched voice during Hanseti sing-alongs, Douglas quit his job and enlisted himself in the Orenian army at Felsen after hearing of the recent victory over Grandaxe Keep (1541). After the Empire of Vanderguan was established (1542) and the siege of Kal'Ordholm was underway, Douglas after a year of military training was sent from Felsen as reinforcements. Witnessing the carnage that had taken place of the armies present, he realised his rash decision as a fallacy, but was still a fool at heart; he luckily survived even only with his year long training and returned back to the capital, defeated along with the remnants of the Orenian army to Felsen.
For 5 years he served in the Army after being dishonorably discharged for "behaviour unsuited of a soldier"; he slept with his superior's wife. While he was admittedly swayed by the charms of the nobleman's spouse, he purposely did the act after being tired of all the violence he has seen over the years. His rash nature led him to the wooden houses and hay roofs that caught his attention; he lived and worked at the farms in Wayrest during daylight, learning the ways of cultivating life. Life for him though was not always honest. By night he learnt basic merchantry and alchemy from a apprenticeship in a hideout at Newport Boulevard with a shady and twitchy cambist who secretly dealed potions and forged currency in the black market. Life was all good for him living for his interests; until he committed adultery (again) with a well-liked fisherman's wife and was shunned by the community, kicking him out of Wayrest. At the night of this unfortunate event, he found his master entangled in a sea of vines at their hideout; which he assumed was probably from a angry conned druid. He knew it was his master as it always twitched slightly to the left. Before he stepped out of the overgrown hideout, for the first time in his life, he stopped and thought about the last time he went where the wind took him. He remembered the blood of his fellow soldier's corpses during the ruined siege and how their hair could be dyed so red. He seriously considered where he should go next. However mosquito flew to his neck and he slapped his neck instinctively; and all thoughts about blood and gore turned into "ugh blood sucker...ew mosquito guts". Being the laidback fool he was, he wandered to Ilthilien as a traveling bard, with hope he would find something interesting like the things he used to listen about.
