  1. New forums changes now remind me of my borderline post-to-rep ratio. Thanks.

You're welcome, my fellow repaholic. :^)

  2. Right, so as a dude who's been cough not afk fishing cough for the last few weeks, and admittedly slacked off because I hit Legendary, I have a few things I'll like to add my two cents in. I think this idea is great. If it this was actually implemented, I'd cry tears of blood because I want to experience leveling with these things. This idea has potential to make fishing interesting and addresses the concept of fishing as of its current state as stale and bland. But there's a few illogical things slotted in here that Imma comment on. Say for the Fly fishing rod, doesn't really make sense on why catching smaller fish is a handicap. If ya cook it it's gonna be the equivalent of a normal fish. And for the sturdier fishing rod and the lure fishing rod, it sounds like enchanters would be useless to fishers already, cutting the ties of a possible social interaction. Also, in real life different methods of fishing and rods catch different fish, yes, but with the simplicity of MC fishing by itself, you might have to conform your ideas to match it to such. Making things more complex than it already is will just make it a hassle, since I see no reason why this should be implemented since it won't bring anything good into RP. Brevity isn't that bad sometimes. Great idea. I like how you connect the chef profession deeper towards fishing, as well as the new connection of a blacksmith, das gud. More EXP is always welcome as well. I love the idea of fish breaking out of cages, maybe we can have a swarm of silverfish coming out when opened haha. But be a bit more specific on how basic nets are different from the cages, because again, why would we want larger fish when we can have loot. This seems like over complication to me, and it'd just make things a hassle. Sweet. Only thing though, why breeders? I like how you implement more professions like earlier, but this makes no sense. Breeders breed worms ?!?!??! Tbh Most fishers want their fish stacked, since the logic of 'hur hur armour can be stacked SO WHY NOT FISHIES DUR DURR' is pretty legitimate, unless the specifications of the fish matter. Which they don't since you can manually stack fish. I know fish have an expiration date that separates them, but seriously, cook a bunch of fish together and it's renewed. It'd be good to suggest why 9 or 18 fish are special enough to be kept in a bag, and rather not stack the fish, which leads me to question the purpose of the big and basic bags in comparison to the stacked bag. In all, this is a good idea. Spicing up a profession is always good. But most people do fishing for two things; caskets and the grappling ability. Fishers advocate for better casket drop rates along with other professions, and you're making our grappling ability limited, which is eeeeehhhh since I sacrificed RP time to psuedo fly around places. Appeal to the fishers, my friend, because we need a good reason on why over-complicating certain aspects of our profession (which I do understand is to make it more realistic, but Nexus is hated for taking too much of player lives. Making things more realistic = increased complexity, which will only make the grind longer, and like I said earlier, more of a hassle) is equivalent to limiting grappling, which most of us grind for and take so much time out of our RP time. Edit: I'll sacrifice grappling for better treasure chests. Kudos to Squirt.

  5. Skype: You have it MC Name: DouggyTheDog Persona: Douglas Aasim Holger Skills: Basic organisation and MC book writing knowledge. I also can sort things out on excel and thus act as a bookkeeper. Do you use TeamSpeak (Y/N): N. I live in a dormitory, so going on TS disturbs others. Sorry ;P
  6. Douglass jabbed his quill into a freshly gutted inksack, scribbling over the parchment with illegible strokes. "I, Douglass Aasim Holger, support the creation of this charter." (IGN: DouggyTheDog)
  7. (What I imagined the trio to look like after the first part of the post) Somewhere in the Sutican docks, Douglas felt a pleasant shiver on the cheeks of his buttocks.
  8. Skype or Discord: ryanjit.s.kairon (Skype) Character name: Douglas Holger Character desc: Douglas is a human, more specifically a rugged looking Highlander. He is half-Farfolk, half Hanseti; the former is seen by the colour of his dark brown grey skin, the latter is presented by his well defined chin and grizzly stubble. However with his more predominate masculine features, his outlook would seem more childish and arrogant, often wearing a sh*t eating grin. He has an average build, nothing that well defined due to just being a wanderer. He sports spectacles, as well as brown eyes and hair that is straight and shaggy. He is dressed in orange robes like look as if they were from the north (think like Northern Water Tribe attire from The Last Airbender), and a light brown satchel slung over his torso, full of healer's supplies. Extra picture desc: Look resembles this guy http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/stormlightarchive/images/c/c6/Kal_Syl_ex-m.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160725030201 Pose reference(It helps me make it faster): Something casual like this: http://img02.deviantart.net/547d/i/2016/177/7/2/college_goop_by_konoira-da7sbkm.png Face reference(If you have something specific in mind): You're the first person to draw me art, and I have nothing specific ;D Do you love me?: Here's a crappy poem proclaiming my love. Enjoy. Commies are Red, Smurfs are Blue, You commission great art, So take my damn <3.
  9. +1 I mean, have you read her character desc on /pers?
  10. MC Name: Douggy_ RP Name: Alpin Reasoning for Applying: Quickly skimmed through the lore, it clicked better for me than the other clans out there. Plus, I like how DF are related to Dark Elves somewhat, it's going to make RP interesting. Do you accept to follow the rules of playing a Doomforged? Yes Bloodline: Dormin's line (I'll change the skin accordingly if have too.) Parents (Optional, only if you are playing a current member's child): N/A
  11. "Squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak" He'd have heard of it. News of the newborn had reached Sutica delayed, but he heard the news. His favourite guide during his days as at the Grove had given birth. Happy days, happy days, he'd thought, with sweat beading on his forehead. Promptly after whacking his friend Alex on the head for not telling him about the news in the Aureon household, Douglas had kicked his closet down with gusto, and gazed at the pink beneath it with a grin. Oh, she's going to love this. I might be a bit late, but I knew my mascot days would come in handy. And that was how a grown man running frantically in a pink-dragon costume would come about; the quilt had been squeaking like a hyperventilating mouse as he ran. Oh, although I didn't greet Lad- Miss Ara during her wedding. That may be a problem.... He'd wave to the El'Naeri manning the front gate as he rushed in, unaware of the guardian's melancholic mood, veiled by his own excitement. Aureon household...Aureon household...where did Alex say it was again? Before he took a step to search, his ears would twitch and pick up the air of gossip. Abruptly halting, his foot halfway in the air. His eyes would be forcing themselves out of their sockets, his pupils expanding. "Squeak...squeak...squeak..." If you were at the tavern, you may have caught the weird sight of a figure clad in strange attire; it's head would be drooped, shoulders slouched, and was trudging slowly through the stone street. The person manning the costume would have his face shrouded by a shadow. However, an aura of gritty anger and resentment of sorts would surround it, and you'd hear the muttering of curses tremble in the air, juxtaposing it's childish appearance.

  13. *The notice flutters haphazardly from it's red-sanded corroded metal of a nail, it's blanch yellow form having lost it's sheer edge; as if nibbled by a church mouse. It was part of the scenery in the bustling district, flapping annoyingly from the wind and busy street. As it does complete revolutions both clockwise and anti, a shadow would descend on the wind-milling parchment, halting the noise of beating paper for but a brief moment.* [Under the faded ink text of the notice and the various unique signatures, a small, neatly printed name would appear inferior to them; only liable to read if you'd squint hard.] "Douglas Holger"

  15. IGN: Douggy_ Brief OOC Explanation as to why you want to be a Cleric and/or part of the order: I'm a newer member that has joined, I'm quite snuggled in with how RP works, but I'm not so sure about interactions and pers interest's as much. I'm frankly more comfortable with a more 'devoted to a deity' type for my first character; as I've always played either healer or shamans in RPG's. I got revoked by the Druids though, but I still want to continue as that type. [IG Info] Character’s Name: Douglas Holger Age: 40 Race: Human (Highlander) Are you aware that becoming a Cleric is a life changing event?: Yes Why do you want to become a Cleric?(IG Perspective):
  16. Doug

You dropped it really suddenly, like out of nowhere, but have a nice 3 weeks mate.

  17. FORMAT MC Username: Douggy_ Character Name: Douglas Holger Race: Human (Highlander) Age: 37 Gender: Male Skin (Or reference picture) : http://prntscr.com/bzqkob Description of Pose or Action: Doing something stupid Any details or w/e: He lieks playing instruments (especially the flute)
  18. Out-Of-Character Information Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication! What’s your Minecraft account name?: Douggy_ How old are you?: 17 What timezone are you in?: UTC +5:30 Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Yep Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Hostile and Toxic behavior, directed any anyone or on any medium, will not be tolerated. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): Nope How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: From a friend (michaelrotov1234) Link(s) to past Whitelist Applications (If applicable): N/A Have you logged into the server yet? (You cannot be whitelisted without logging in at least once): Yep I did. Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! Plagiarizing will result in the automatic denial of your application! What is roleplaying?: Sorta like acting; but without a script. You play as a character; taking into account their background, personality and traits. What is metagaming?: Dramatic irony but in a game. You know something that the character doesn't, but metagaming is where the character somehow knows something he/she is not supposed to know; or does not come by it in a logical fashion in their environment. Sorta like GoT characters knowing when they will die. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Another form of meta-gaming, but where the abuser does not take into account of the environment and laws of the game, but instead just does something for self-interest. Sorta like being inconsiderate kid. An example is "Player X steals money from Player Y". A more acceptable version is "Player X (with no skill in thieving), sneaks up to Player Y with the desire to pickpocket" and "Player Y, (having a reputable experience in catching thieves and is a guard), aims his crossbow at Player X's head). In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?) Douglas Holger Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male Character’s race: (you can find all the playable races here.) Human Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 37 (at 1560) Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Born from a brief fling between a Hanseti warrior and Farfolk woman (1523), Douglas was sent to an orphanage at Nordwen at a young age and raised as a highlander. His lack of parentage rarely affected him though; finding solace with his fellow orphans but it left him unbound to any tradition or anything whatsoever. Due to his free lanced nature, Douglas worked at a tavern as a waiter and a budding tavern musician during his teens to earn some pocket money and serve his interest as a no-good busybody. Occasionally he would hear a maddened wood elf complaining about his mushrooms, dwarves fretting over a new gold mine, hearthlander couples accusing each other adultery, and observing a lonely dark elf downing shots of strong alcohol whilst muttering to himself. He would sometimes listen to Orc banter prolonged enough that he would return back speaking gibberish Blah to his fellow confused orphans as a joke. He was an laidback foolish boy back then, and still is. After reaching his age of maturity, and being tired of getting punted out of the tavern for his high pitched voice during Hanseti sing-alongs, Douglas quit his job and enlisted himself in the Orenian army at Felsen after hearing of the recent victory over Grandaxe Keep (1541). After the Empire of Vanderguan was established (1542) and the siege of Kal'Ordholm was underway, Douglas after a year of military training was sent from Felsen as reinforcements. Witnessing the carnage that had taken place of the armies present, he realised his rash decision as a fallacy, but was still a fool at heart; he luckily survived even only with his year long training and returned back to the capital, defeated along with the remnants of the Orenian army to Felsen. For 5 years he served in the Army after being dishonorably discharged for "behaviour unsuited of a soldier"; he slept with his superior's wife. While he was admittedly swayed by the charms of the nobleman's spouse, he purposely did the act after being tired of all the violence he has seen over the years. His rash nature led him to the wooden houses and hay roofs that caught his attention; he lived and worked at the farms in Wayrest during daylight, learning the ways of cultivating life. Life for him though was not always honest. By night he learnt basic merchantry and alchemy from a apprenticeship in a hideout at Newport Boulevard with a shady and twitchy cambist who secretly dealed potions and forged currency in the black market. Life was all good for him living for his interests; until he committed adultery (again) with a well-liked fisherman's wife and was shunned by the community, kicking him out of Wayrest. At the night of this unfortunate event, he found his master entangled in a sea of vines at their hideout; which he assumed was probably from a angry conned druid. He knew it was his master as it always twitched slightly to the left. Before he stepped out of the overgrown hideout, for the first time in his life, he stopped and thought about the last time he went where the wind took him. He remembered the blood of his fellow soldier's corpses during the ruined siege and how their hair could be dyed so red. He seriously considered where he should go next. However mosquito flew to his neck and he slapped his neck instinctively; and all thoughts about blood and gore turned into "ugh blood sucker...ew mosquito guts". Being the laidback fool he was, he wandered to Ilthilien as a traveling bard, with hope he would find something interesting like the things he used to listen about. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Rash, laidback, empty headed, twitchiness (from his ex-master) Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Being able to make a living with his horribly pitched voice Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Farming, Alchemy, surprising playing a lyre and flute Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Singing, making good decisions and advanced swordfighting Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) 175cm tall, dark but pale skinned (from his exotic Farfolk heritage and years of living in Courland), medium build, shoulder length black hair. And concealed scars from military duty. Skin: (please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin; if you need help, see our screenshot guide here.) http://prntscr.com/by4u89
