  1. So I've been gone for like 4 months, does anyone know a good resource for me to quickly catch up on what's happened? I've been trying to read through warclaims and the wiki to get an idea of what's going on but I'm pretty ******* confused.

  4. "All you rebels care for is petty revenge, nothing more. You bring pain and suffering to those who had nothing to do with your oppression." Gailyn Carlisle remarks, irked
  5. Gailyn Carlisle blankly stares at the announcement, his hands shaking with pent up anger. "So they abandoned us in Johannesburg to die, after they had already sacrificed so much for the Empire. What cowardice"
  6. Gailyn Carlisle reads the notice and furrows his brow. "The Coalition wants me to leave my home and livelihood behind? What will become of my possessions, my house, my friends and family who wish to stay?"
  7. "My name is Branisław Nowak and I joined the rebellion to fight for the people of Pasnia, and to free those under unfair subjugation by the Orenian Empire. I fought at the Battle of the Gorge, where we gave Oren their first defeat in many years. I was wounded at the Battle of Goldfield, the turning point of our war. And though at first I through my heart and soul into this rebellion, and though I still believe in the goals we set out to accomplish, I can see nothing but unadulterated revenge driving our attack on Johannesburg. The Empire is a crippled beast, their numbers cannot possibly pose a threat to our coalition as a whole. We have achieved sovereignty for the areas of the empire that wanted it, and we have successfully stopped Orenian advances on the Dwarves and Orcs. We fought this war to stop expansionism, and to ensure sovereignty for Courland, Pasnia, and all others who no longer wanted to bear the name of Oren. However, to push forward now, to put out the candle of their state is just as cruel and unjust as their subjugation of vassals who wanted freedom. Haense wants to remain part of the Empire, the people of Johannesburg want to remain part of the Empire, the Crownlands and the Westerlands want to remain part of the Empire. How can we morally deprive them of this, when we have fought so hard to secure our states? With Goldfield, and with Malin abandoning their cause, Oren is doomed. They have not the men to defend what they have left, so why take it from them? These people want to remain part of Oren, let them. We must make peace with our enemy, for we have gained what we wanted. As long as the Axionite coalition keeps Oren aggression in check, there should be no reason to fear an Empire made up of those states who want to be a part of it, and there should no reason to cruely put it down when so many still want it to live. If the rebel coalition marches on Johannesburg, I will be there, because I fight for my country of Pasnia. But even if I am there fighting, I still have my qualms. I beg my fellow rebels to consider what they are doing, and consider the hypocrisy that lies in the destruction of Oren. If we truly rebelled for freedom and security, let us not stoop to their level, let us show them the hand of peace" Branislaw hastily nails up copies of his mainfesto in rebel held keeps and cities

  15. Come one, come all! See the Tragedians, the greatest acting troupe in Axios! The Tragedians are a group of Oren's finest actors, travelling from town to town performing plays from throughout world history. Tragedies, comedies, dramas; this troupe has the talent to tickle the creative spirit of any man, women, or child. This day in Johannesburg they performed a modified excerpt from the tragic comedy Amphitryon, a short jaunt of romance, jives, and saucy violence. Members Piérrot (LePetitCordelier) - This Halfing has a knack for romantic comedy, and is always a good laugh Lukas Ostwald (liberty001) - The playwright and director, he is the man behind the magic Leila Rendes (Rosebit) - The female of the group, she has a knack for the dramatic Gailyn Carlisle (gumshoeismygod) - The poet, his monologues make any audience swoon Our next performance will be of The Fools of Elsinore, an absurd comedy with two laughably oblivious leads. We shall announce when and where our performance will be at a later date. Please, all those who love the fine arts, consider attending our next performance and leaving a donation. After all, even us troubadours have to eat! We hope that we can bring the gift of theater to those across the lands of Axios, so please, if you wish for us to perform in your lands, feel free to contact us.
  16. Branislaw slams his fist on the table, enraged. "Not a word did I say to the King Algoda, but we spilled the blood of the oppressive Empire together at the Battle of the Gorge, where Humans and Dwarves fought side by side. The revolution will never forget your sacrifice, nor will all those who stand against the corrupt Empire. And to all those who think that this will derail our fight for freedom... this changes nothing."
  17. Shamas, though not that fond of non-humans, can't help but worry about the direction the Empire is moving. First non-humans, next maybe far-folk, or anyone but heartlanders. He shudders at the thought.
  18. Out-Of-Character Information What’s your Minecraft account name?: gumshoeismygod How old are you?: 17 What timezone are you in?: EST (UTC -5) Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Yes Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The first point under your mission statement for players, which is "To remember that roleplay isn’t about winning or losing, but about storytelling. Allow roleplay to flourish, and act as a builder of an overall story.". People often forget that there are winners and losers in roleplay as there are in real life. For every time you climb up the ladder, you'll get knocked down. That's what makes it fun! Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): No How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: Well, I'm involved in a beta test for another RP server, and a lot of the people there said they also played on here, so I decided to check it out. Link(s) to past Whitelist Applications (If applicable): N/A Have you logged into the server yet? (You cannot be whitelisted without logging in at least once): Yes Definitions What is roleplaying?: Acting as a persona or character, and living out their life as they would. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using information learned outside of roleplay in roleplay. (Ex. Learning that you are going to be assassinated in a group OOC skype chat and then having the would-be assassin arrested) What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is performing impossible or improbable feats in roleplay, often with little opportunity for others to respond. (Such as *slices off your head in one swipe of my axe* or something) In-Character Information Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?) Shamas al-Hazin Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male Character’s race: (you can find all the playable races here.) Human (Farfolk) Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 35 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Shamas was born in Al-Wakrah on the Isles of Vailor to Aliya bint-Amanullah and Fawaz ibn-Bilah. He remembers little from Vailor, and was quite young when the descendants fled to Axios. His father (Fawaz) took up working was a lumberjack in the south-western region of the Sultanate of Haria. While their family originally followed the teachings of Iman al-Rashidun, they lived near the Orenian exclaves south of Haria, exposing them to Church of the Canon. Fawaz eventually converted, and their proximity away from much of Harian society made it so the family could generally live in peace. Shamas grew up with very little, and the family eked out a meager existence together in relative isolation, only making trips to the city when their small garden couldn't supply them with food. Shamas received little in the way of meaningful education, and only served to perform duties around the house. Though his father was a lumberjack, he took great interest in the work of his mother, who was responsible for maintaining the garden. In fact, he dreamed of leaving his families home in the woods to find a wife and make his own way as a farmer. However, as time churned onward, so too did his love of his life in his families cabin. His father talked of building a second cabin for him and whatever maiden he brought back, and let him vastly expand the garden as well, and sell his wares at the market. He couldn't have been happier in such a state of blissful ignorance. He was 27 when his mother passed on from this world to the next. Fawaz found her passed out in the forest outside of their home, her face a sickening blue green as venom pumped through her veins. A serpent, a spider, an unassuming plant, Shamas and his father would never know, but his mother passed away that evening, convulsing in her bed. Though Shamas took it hard, he moved on with the help of his father. However, unbeknownst to him, his father was not taking it well. At night he would sneak off to Al'Khaleed to drink and gamble, slowly racking up a nasty reputation as a loudmouthed indebted drunkard. Shamas was oblivious to this destructive behavior, as he was to wrapped up in his own sadness. It was only four weeks after Aliya passed that Fawaz would join her. It was late at night, and the sticky hair of the Grand Harvest seemed to muffle the shouting going on in the alley behind the bar. Fawaz, in his drunkenness, had been slandering the wife of a local noble, whom Fawaz also owed a good deal of money to. Little is known about the altercation that followed, but Fawaz was found dead the next day, his blood coating the walls of the alley from multiple stab wounds. Shamas was slammed into a stupor that took months to return from. The tragic deaths of the only two people he had ever been close to pushed him into deep depression. He mindlessly worked away at the cabin, eking out a meager existence, but after all these years he was doing it alone. Over tine he made peace with the deaths of his parents. He continued to work, but began taking careful notice of the actions of the Holy Orenian Empire. While he was not exactly fond of some of the brutish actions of Orcs, he couldn't help but be marginally concerned by the Orenian military activity against them on the island of Asul. With so much free time to contemplate on his hands, he became increasingly disillusioned with his own country. He did not follow the majority of religion, and for decades his family had only been lightly involved in Harian society. He became concerned with the prospect of conflict with the Orenians, because not only would he be forced to fight believers in his own religion, he would be forced to fight for a country he felt very little connection to. Over time, his desire to leave Haria grew, until finally he made a decision. He boarded a boat for the Holy Orenian Empire, and was off to begin a new life in Johannesburg. He wasn't sure where this new life would take him, or honestly how well he would make it in this new society, but he was willing to try. Note: If there are any historical/lore inconsistencies in my story I would really appreciate it if whoever reviews this could point them out. There was a lot to take in with the wiki and all the forum threads, so I want to make sure that I understood what I read. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) He's a trusting person, and his half-decade in solitude has left him with a desire for companionship. He is not that forthcoming, nor is he much of a leader. He is a non-confrontational person (a fear he gained after the violent death of his father.), and tries to come to an understanding with all he meets. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) In the short term, he'd like to settle down in the country he now finds himself in, perhaps make himself some new companions and begin growing some crops. Long term he might be interested in some form of military service, or even to acquire some amount of wealth. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Shamas has a green thumb, a trait that he picked up from his mom. He knows how to get plants to grow in a variety of conditions with ease. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Shamas needs to work on standing up for himself and trusting the right people. Sometimes he his not the best at balancing what others want and what he wants. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Shamas is of average height, with rather ragged medium length brown hair hidden under a reddish brown turban, he wears a basic tan outfit with reddish brown highlights. He has olive green eyes. Skin: (please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin; if you need help, see our screenshot guide here.)
