REFUSAL OF HAELUN'ORIAN WEREGILD RENEGOTIATION
BobBox replied to _pr0fit's topic in Royal Laws & Edicts
A Wick Elf shook his head. "Alliances are like elves, kid. The world doesn't need them and they always get upset when you poke fun at them." He paused for a moment, his head shaking to himself thereafter "I hate elves." -
RP Name: Anthony Alexios Basrid MC Name: BobBox Voted: Yes
-
A Basrid sat inside the gloom and darkness of his office, no candle in sight. Reflecting on his childhood, he remembered fondly of the many things his Grandfather had granted him. "Five hundred meters of silks, two hundred meters of rope, and a large basket." He repeated the list to himself, then chuckling after. He missed the balloon, the days of casually talking to his grandfather. He remembered when his mother had asked him, "Anthony, Who is the wisest?" "Well mother, it is clearly grandfather, as he is so wise he cannot move without a wheelchair." He missed the time his grandfather had asked him of his feelings. How the times had changed so quickly. From casual conversations to talks about the state, it was true that he had left an imprint on Anthony that would last until he himself perished.

Current plans?
-
The Basrid folded over the paper and added it to his shelves once he had finished reading it. "Perhaps I am not alone in my work." He mused before going back to his own papers.
-
A Basrid sat in his chair, eyes moving over the various trinkets, papers, and other items scattered across the room. The fire flickered as he heard a knock on the door - "Who could it be now?" he wondered. He opened the door to a servant, who handed him news of the General's death in an envelope. The news of the General's death haunted the Basrid, a reminder that life was not permanent, a looming fear that a story could not continue forever even if the world needed you. Yet a conversation from an earlier day resonated with him. "Resistance will yield result but time will always win." He uttered to himself before setting the paper aside. -=-=-=-=-=-=- A stone man heard the local gossip of the General's death. He sighed, as he had hoped the man could be saved as he had been. Shaking his head, he trudged off to collect his shark clothing, as this was the only thing that could make him less upset in the moment. -=-=-=-=-=-=- A Maliman - as the general had called him - shook his head. Turning to his friend, he joked "Hopefully that'll be me soon, ti?" he asked. Soon reaching for a nearby drink, he downed it - for the General he once knew, and for himself. He was an alcoholic after all.

The Clock Strikes Midnight
BobBox replied to makeitsoyoucandeleteaccounts's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
Anthony Basrid folded the paper over his desk and nodded "One less thing off my plate, perhaps I can get back to writing my papers one of these days..." He mused, though soon shuffled off as he received a few urgent letters. It seemed it wasn't quite time for a break yet. -
An 'Ame was handed the publication by a friend and he soon read it, a frown then forming on his features. Looking over to his left, at the previously used set of armor and tools, he spoke "They're really drawing me out of retirement? And here I thought I could rest at least two years..."
-
Anthony Basrid reclined in his chair, hands resting behind his head as he spoke to his trusty servant. "Perhaps it is time to begin my research papers once more. Oh how I must find those whales..." He said in thought, a hand then drifting to his chin. "Mayhaps I should get a new painting first..."
-
Anthony Basrid paused, his gaze moving over his fresh set of armor that he prepared for the next day of battle. "Quite unfortunate that the goats learned to run, I thought their shoes had been made out of brick. I suppose I'll see them on a different battlefield, but on this day - Oren is victorious."

The Execution of a Traitor The Holy Oren Empire has prevailed over yet another traitorous individual. Robert Foltest Helvets - a conspirator and traitor to the Holy Orenian Empire- was stabbed through the neck after the traitorous Sedanites attempted to free him in order to avoid punishment for his crimes - crimes that he admitted to a faithful citizen, who then told the state. Not only was this man guilty of his crimes but during his first trial, a horde of Sedanites also attempted to break into the city to save him, which not only solidified his guilt but also carelessly risked the lives of many civilians, though thankfully none were hurt. These Sedanites then also attempted to disrupt the second trial, but Robert was promptly executed and the horde was dealt with by the faithful defenders of the Holy Orenian Empire. While we are saddened to announce the death of yet another once-respected individual, the state has no option but to prosecute these traitors to the full extent of the law for the safety and well-being of any and all inhabitants of the Holy Orenian Empire. Let this serve as an example to anyone involved or considering being involved in this rebellion - you will be found out and tried to the full extent of the law, with no pity granted upon you.

A stone behemoth heard of the news and let out a cry of rage. "This... This was supposed to be my kill! Damn the world, I will destroy the person who took this satisfaction from me." Somewhere down below a former shade shook his head. He took on a mocking tone as he spoke "Made a misstep, Addie? Unfortunate, isn't it?" He asked no one as he did his best to hide his sadness.

The Battle of Southbridge A dead Sedanite after the Battle of Southbridge. On this day, the 13th of Harren’s Folly, a traitorous army of Sedanite insurrectionists approached a garrison of Imperial Soldiers stationed at Southbridge. Upon taunting the loyal soldiers foolishly with a writ of rebellion - hoping to claim a swift victory -, a battle trumpet was sound and the Orenian soldiers charged out into the unsuspecting Goats. Immediately the goats broke out into a panicked retreat and were slaughtered by the Imperial State Army, the Rangers of Eastwood picking them off from the treelines with their expert marksmanship. Captain Iskander Basrid, Ensign Caspian d’Arkent, Captain Erik var Ruthern, and the Vice Chancellor Sir Ledicort d’Azor led the army valiantly on the frontlines and pushed into the awaiting horde of Sedanite dissenters fearlessly. These men kept the soldiers in good order and kept significant pressure on the fleeing goats, killing off many of their most experienced men in one fell swoop. Clearly, the best of these Sedanites forces were no match for the faithful subjects of the Holy Orenian Empire as minimal losses were sustained. A celebration in honor of the win was held in the palace, where His Imperial Majesty Joseph II personally congratulated the troops on their tremendous win.

THE TESTIMONY OF EMIL-DARDOT DE FALSTAFF
BobBox replied to Publius's topic in Provinces and Territories
Anthony Alexios smiled as the paper was shifted onto his desk. He took it in his hands and read over it before speaking. "A man has stepped forward on his own terms and has been spared, let this be a lesson for others." -
The Goats are Fish? A depiction of the Sedanites swimming away from the ISA & Rangers. Let it be known that on this day, the 15th Tobias’ Bounty the traitorous Sedanites stormed Southbridge with the intent of recruiting innocents for their failing insurrection. It seems that they do not have enough members for their plans so they have resorted to attempting to recruit women, children, and other confused individuals. As these traitors attempted to recruit a young Dharas into their ranks, a brave Tatyana Barbanov sent a bird to her husband, Prince Nikolas - a Ranger Leader who was in a meeting with the Emperor at the time. Once Prince Nikolas explained the letter to the Emperor, he was dismissed to dispatch the threat with the assistance of some ISA soldiers. As soon as the ISA arrived at Southbridge the traitorous Sedanites quickly fled, soon leaving their horses to drown in the river as they swam to safety. This can only raise a singular question, are these people truly traitorous ‘goats’, or are they flimsy fish?

A Traitor’s Death The Execution of a Daniel de Falstaff Not long after the ISA and other faithful servants of The Holy Orenian Empire defended a conscripted and confused child soldier who was abandoned by the group’s leader - his own father - from the traitors and desperate vagrants of Sedan, it seems the fleeing army left a singular man behind, without any thought to his wellbeing, safety, or allegiance to their group. The traitorous Sedanites attempted for some long hours to break into the nearly impenetrable Bastion but they were held off from their child soldier by some mere planks of wood as a barricade. After they realized there was no chance that they could bust the locks, they promptly fled to their country-side hobbles. Soon after this group retreated, the situation was explained to the child before he was released without injury. After a prompt capture, the ISA hauled the traitorous man by the name of Daniel de Falstaff into the courtyard where he was then executed. Let this be a public notice to all traitors of the Holy Orenian Empire, death will be swift and your ‘rebellion’ will be crushed even quicker.

Imperial Order of Confiscation: Sedan Manor
BobBox replied to sergisala's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
A Basrid nodded before speaking "These people couldn't afford a few hundred minas? That's quite unfortunate." Then looking to his right at the bag of coins, he shrugged. -
Anthony Alexios Basrid nodded as the paper appeared on his desk. "This is progress in the right direction." He remarked to his assistant with a nod. Folding the paper over and moving it to the side, he continued to work on the next research paper.

Poisoned Crows Published on the 15th of Sigismund’s End, 1809 A depiction of the “Poisoned Crows” Introduction An odd phenomenon has struck Providence as of recent. Over the past few months, birds - specifically crows - have been falling from the sky onto the pavement. This missive is made as a means to explain our research into this problem and to raise awareness about such an issue. Instances The first instance of this was one that I alone witnessed. A bird crashed onto the pavement before my own eyes, neck contorted at odd angles, and eyes glassy and white as if it had stared death directly in the face. The bird was dark as a crow should be, but it was unnaturally so, as there were black veins running across its entire body. The second and most recent instance of these “Poisoned Crows” as I have dubbed them was just a few days ago. I sat in the tavern when I heard a loud crash from outside, and then soon the sound of a crowd gasping. I rushed outside to see a number of the crows dead on the pavement, all but one in the same spot as the first instance, though it seems one lone bird missed its mark. These birds were even more grotesque than the first ones, as their wings were contorted, necks snapped, and eyes having the same look of death imprinted into them. In total, there were five that hit the pavement. Research Myself and a man by the name of Lazarus secured a few bodies of these birds and took them to a nearby lab to research them, where we then cut into them. As the blade made first contact with their flesh, a vile and awful smelling liquid flowed freely from the bird’s veins. This liquid - or tainted blood as I theorize - could only be described as a miasmic ichor created by unnatural forces that smells of death itself. Inside of the chest cavity of the crow was where we found some odd discoveries. When the organs were touched and interacted with, they quickly melted into whatever ichor flowed throughout the rest of the bird. After this, another incision revealed a “core” to the creature, an orb seemingly made out of an ashy material, though it quickly disintegrated into nothingness. Request If anyone knows any information about these birds, or about who to contact to gain more information, I do request that you send me a bird. I look forward to learning more about these poisoned crows, and I hope you are more conscious of them after reading this. I also wish to know if this has been happening in any other city or nation. Author’s Note While I’m aware that this isn’t like the other papers I’ve written, I felt that it was needed to shed some light on some current events of our world. If you have information please send a bird to my palace office or to myself. OOC: BobBox (Austin)#4660
