((Do we Even have one? If not I wish to establish one for the sake of keeping our RP culture alive and securing documents and Dwarven lore in a suitable place..))

*The text reads, "A need for a Dwarven Library cannot be overlooked"

As Dwarves it is our legacy to keep our culture alive and uncovered.

In these dark times I feel our sense of pride has diminished to a low and ghostly state.

We must build a library to put a stamp on our recollection of these events, and our knowledge of the terrible occurrences all throughout Anthos.

To Build such a Library would be an easy task, but to stack the shelves with literature abound may not be as easy as expected. We dwarves,.... we drink, we spit, we curse, but we all know that in order to pass down the knowledge of our brothers and fathers and kings and sons, we have to create somewhere these scripts can be found.

((I want as many dwarves as possible to read this. We seriously have to document the **** going on in Anthos.

Remember that scene in Lord of the Rings when Gandalf finds the account on the siege of the Dwarrowdelf and the fight between the Orcs and goblins against defending Dwarves. They had a system in Moria, why don't we??

Once I get responses with suggestions or feedback, I shall speak with everyone about preparations and construction of such a Library..))

*Tell me what you think!

((Pretty sure we need to build a new on in Storm's Since that place is essentially abandoned. No rp really...))

((There already is a library. The remembrancers control it. The reason that it is not public is none of the scribes wanted to copy any of the books so that we could actually put some on display. However, there is already a half built library in Ithrun.))

[We got links on this thread but sadly we haven't been able to have something that is available in minecraft. Without a shop plugin or "bookshelf" plugin like we had before, its difficult to have books to the public without people just taking them.

((I don't really know the story with Storm's Library, but personally I think it's a great idea :D))

[True, but there is just not enough constant flowing RP to have someone stand there all day waiting for people to check out or look at books. Until we have the library transferred into MC books and then have multiple sets with the use of the printing press, we can't have this feasibly work.]

[[i would suggest instead of books, we have signs scattered around the city or library. Telling a story, maybe that of the creation of the Dwarves according to our religion? Eventually leading to the remembrancer area. I think it would be pretty cool.

*You notice some words finely engraved into the wall*

Before anything, there was nothing. The only thing that could be described by today’s standards was The Void. The world was a vast emptiness that we can only barely describe. Yet within nothing, there was still Him, slumbering away the ages.

Obviously this may not be feasibly, but I still think it would be cool. And a nice alternative to copying everything out into books which people can steal.

Edit: Or  maybe some riddles? Although this is going offtopic...]]

((I agree with both, sounds cool. I am not alive and I never was, yet I have a face and two hands. I do not tell time. What am I?))

Even BetterBooks:
Author: Sporadic

The community spoke, and we have listened. Enjoy your bookshelf updates!

+ Ability to store unwritten maps and book+quill in your Bookshelves
+ You can now lock a bookshelf with a standard, LWC-locked sign. People that do not have access to your locked bookshelf will peruse a read-only version, which allows them to read the book in text format, but never take them out. Lockpicking rules still apply!

Thanks to this beautiful new plugin, we will be able to easily showcase all of our literature IG! A big thanks to Sporadic for this.

*Tenshar stops by the old capital during one of his wanderings. Having often come through the place to visit old friends who have long since left or died in combat he now only comes in the hopes of accessing the great Dwarven library. But, as the many times before he finds only a dark hall and locked doors barring his path. He can only sigh as he returns back to the library he currently helps run, knowing that what it currently holds is nothing compared to the old libraries of the different races.*

((You could always ask for a hand...I'm building/stocking a library for the Ministry of Contemplation and it's not that hard to do. Just toss like 3 copies of a book into a bookshelf and then lock it with a general pass known to anyone who should have access. That way someone just needs to find any of the 10+ people with access if they want a copy of a book.

Sure it's a little work at first, but once you get it down it's easy enough.))

((Spriggar join the remembrancers and get it done.  We need actual bookshelves in the library, I know teebrown has been doing a good job, but he always needs more members in the guild.))
