Hello there LotC’ers, it’s about time again for Fjarriauga recruitment to open once more. To all those reading, welcome! Take a seat in our frosty circle and I’ll explain how things will be working out this time around.

But first, just a few things to keep in mind when applying, or even if you’re simply thinking about it.

  • Lore.

A given. Any applicant should be familiar with at least the basics of our lore. If you don’t know anything about Frost Witch lore however, not to worry! There are a couple of places you can go to find this information.

Our wiki page – http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/The+Fjarriauga

And a couple of extra pages with information, slightly outdated but still useful. -

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/56254-fjarriauga-and-the-frostborn-coven/

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/65593-ooc-the-fjarriauga/

  • Your character.

Think about if your character is suitable to become a Frost Witch or not. This includes things such as gender (Sorry lads, female characters only), and character depth, basically meaning having a decent personality and history. While this is a personal preference from me, it’s also important to be comfortable and committed to this character, as it will be a large adjustment to her life.

  • Rolling with the punches.

Something to keep in mind; becoming a Fjarriauga is a big change. You need to be prepared to sacrifice certain aspects of RP, as it is highly unlikely your character will be able to continue on with life as it was.

Also, she doesn’t need to be a crazed, bitter, cannibalistic murderer already to be considered, and in most cases these traits are developed over time as she adjusts to the situation.

You should also not be afraid to lose, a good attitude goes a long way.

  • Commitment.

I would prefer if the character you are considering is a main one. I don’t want to add new Fja, only to find them inactive in a month’s time.

  • Extra.

Due to some of the aspects of RP being a Frost Witch contains, think carefully if you’re comfortable with it. Eating men isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea.

You will need to write up a VA. Like I said above, the character doesn’t need to be evil, but will need some of these evils to survive. 2a, 3 and 4 are the basic evils a Frost witch will need, so be prepared to write up a VA and an MA.

How to apply!

Applying will be slightly different this time.

Like before, I will get applicants who are interested in joining to write up a small back-story for their character and post it on this thread. I’m not looking for an essay so don’t worry. Just as long as it contains a basic history leading up to where the character stands now. Or if you want to go all out, feel free!

The next steps to go through is I will organize a time to RP with each applicant personally, and then decide from there. Recruitment will be open for a while so no need to rush in.

If you’ve made it through the post this far, have a cookie :D

The only left now to do is apply! The current Frosties are looking forward to having some more join up with our ranks, and I look forward to seeing those of you who apply.

If anyone has any questions at all, don’t hesitate to send me a PM.

Until then, good luck and happy Rp’ing!

Irene Ovain

Age - 32

Gender - Female(Obviously)

Race - High Elven

((IGN - Faelcyn(This character is played on my alt)

She is an active character

((Reasoning -

I have found the frost witches to be fun and entertaining to RP with. I have often thought about being one and decided this would be a great opportunity. It seems fun and enjoyable to do, and I hope to provide fun to others. Irene seems to fit this role perfectly, and the lack of RP I've had with her lately pushes me to this even further. This might give me more of a purpose for her again or at least something enjoyable to do.))

Irene Ovain, formerly known as Evialeen Meavereh, was abandoned at birth by her two elven parents who at the time didn't want a child. Even though children are rare, they felt they didn't have the time nor patience to raise her, and seeing as she was just an accident they passed her on to the Ovain family who resided in what was formerly kingston. This is where she spent her entire life seeing as she was brought there at a young age.

The Ovain family had a history of adopting orphans into their family, they had very few children who were their own. Her new mother and father, Alice Willow Ovain and Daniel Sofen Ovain, raised her as if she was their own flesh and blood. Although raised as an Ovain, she always felt out of place and the rest of her family wouldn't deny it. Even so, her family treated her nicely and she grew up with her four brothers and two sisters, she was the middle child of the family.

Throughout her childhood she often was picked on, mainly for being an elf in a family consisting of mainly human children and their human adoptive parents. She spent days quiet while the rest of her family were off doing things, namely killing and stealing. As I forgot to mention, the Ovain family was not the nicest of people. More along the lines of evil. Her entire family, siblings, parents, cousins... All the Ovain family line, mainly consisted of Brigands, Thieves and Murderers.

Irene was as well, picked on for her very violent family, and the violence did eventually rub off on her with a hint of insanity as well. Irene during her childhood acted slightly irrationally because of this, and was often depressed or confused, even violent on occasion. Another thing to be picked on about. Her childhood wasn't exactly the best in other cases as well. Exposed to violence at a young age, along with the art of torture, murder and lockpicking. Her family taught her specifically what to do, and why those things were NOT wrong.

"You kill to get what you want, there is no harm in that. Every single living soul in this realm has just as much a chance to kill you, as you have to kill them. They don't care about you, you're just something in their way, something to dispose of. But they are the same to you. Killing is not a sin, but simply a tool. A tool to assist you in the task to get what you want. What does it matter, you slaughter and torture to make your way forward in life, there's no harm in it."

With these lessons, and the constant encouragement from the rest of her family, she took up a lot of their violent and psychotic pastimes. Soon she entered her teenage years, her time more occupied now with her family urging her to get into a relationship, possibly planning for a future marriage and in turn planning for the rest of her life. She wasn't so happy, the pressing from her family and her constant failed friendships bothering her immensely. It eventually led to her becoming quite a introvert, keeping to herself and finding social situations a bit awkward.

Further into young adulthood, she began to work for her parents as a job, rather than family fun. She became a mercenary after her eighteenth birthday, fighting for whoever would pay her more. She maintained her quietness and shyness, staying away from most people unless for work. She often secluded herself to write, read and practice fighting. Along with that, she spent a lot of her time simply thinking, about her past and future.

On further in life she finally began to try and leave her comfort zone, which only caused her more and more grief. Finding new people to be around, within months or mere weeks she would find herself leaving them and forgetting. Soon, after much time in her life, her family was finally lost. During the battle for kingston, her father fell in the attacks as well as two of her brothers. Grieving for lost family, and now the loss of her home, she began to wander around looking for more mercenary work. She never heard from any of her surviving family members ever again.

Later through life after years of mindless fighting as a mercenary, she began to long for a relationship, and a family again. She took the good with the bad, but found it wasn't hard to have people surrounding her and complimenting her. She had the choice of who she wanted and for whatever reasons she found, although she still was never happy. Through more and more, she gained her friend, her only friend to be exact. A dark elf named Prey, who she spent most of her days with. They even, for a time, began a relationship together.

Over time she met many others, who all seemed to leave and abandon her through relationships, eventually Prey even stopped talking to her for a while. She met one last man named Salavin, who she loved dearly. Eventually he even asked to marry her, although so suddenly it disturbed her. She also became pregnant with his children, twins. The children are still inside her, but unknown to her they will be stillborn((Preplanned in RP)) which will only lead to more grieving. This leads up to today

We've talked plenty, I wish to turn a character of mine into a Fja, and as for activity, I don't think you need to worry :3

Name Syrila Caomeh

Race Mali'Uruk

Gender Female

Age 425

Backstory (From VA) -

Through the loss of her birth-home, Aegis, the loss of her Orcish cubs in Asulon and the stress upon being Queen of Holm for a very brief period of time, Syrila was a time-bomb readying itself to explode. She had been through so much and yet all the while carried a personal burden of her father, Vardak’s past. She never knew what drove her father down the dark path that ended Aegis. All she knew was that she was his legacy, and to that extent she shouldered the pain of the many that he ruthlessly slaughtered on his conquest. Syrila, who had been through many homes, her own Kingdom taken away from her, had left and fled to Elysium twenty years before anyone else had, taking the boat she had made from Holm into a crack in the deadly barrier that was known as The Fog

Losing yet again another home, she settled after she crashed on Elysium, fighting everyday to survive until she had asserted dominance over her own slice of land. Though in time she slowly became like the beasts she hunted, feral, agile, unpredictable. Using the Orcish blood her father’s ancestry gave her to survive the harsh lands, even after the thick mist covered the area around the Isles. She had even lost an eye, before the monks, and the Mortal Races of Asulon had fled from their homes as well. Syrila once again reunited with those lost and even her enemies, to which she strayed away from, finding solace within the druids.

When the Druids moved, so did she, taking upon the title of Dedicant under the Twilight Druid, she performed her tasks to the best of her ability, being healed of her scars by the monks, even regaining sight in her eye over time. She found a man named Callax, who had won her heart by being genuinely nice to her, they married and as rare of an occasion it could be for an elf, she bore twins. After her recovery, she would be attuned and would take upon the title of The Tsunami Druid

Upon leaving Elysium and Kalos behind, once again another home she had close to her heart due to the brutal nature of the creatures growing in strength and size, Syrila had a realization, that she would not be able to stay with her Druid brothers and sisters. She privately set to leave them upon landing in Anthos, in order to become even closer to the land and secure her place within the new and alien island.

With time, Syrila had returned another twenty years later, finding that her husband was unable to feel any form of emotion, and that he could not love her back. She was devastated, but in time found a lover by the name of Kefi. Things were alright, for a while. But time can be a fickle one, Syrila’s lovers died, She lost her home in Malinor once more, the druids began dropping like flies and anyone she knew was dead. Syrila realized that she could never be as happy as she was back in Aegis, and decided to find a way to bring back that emotional high, locking herself away within the confines of her own mind until she let out a powerful roar of anger, her mind which had over evaluated so much had broken down in such a way that she was unable to consider anything as reckless. Her mind grew colder and colder to the fact that she too was becoming like her father.

And in time, that is what she wants to be now, she only seeks to let go of the voices in her head that tell her that she needs to make her father proud, that she can’t do anything right, That she needs to let loose of her peaceful nature and let back out the Teuton, the orc, the crazy spitfire from Aegis. She would be reborn, not in fire, but in a crashing wave of emotions that bore down upon her for nearly two hundred years of her lifetime. All she was and all she could have been was dead.

Soon, she would be proud of herself (Not likely), soon she would hear the voices in her head tell her that she made her father proud. But most importantly, she would find those who caused her strife and heartache, and rip them apart limb from limb. Her sights set upon the Druids themselves first.

Alright so here's Daniella.

From the start of her life she had it rough. Her parents sold her to a brothel owner for drug money, basically. Dani thinks that's the case, but doesn't know for sure nor does she care. The brothel owner was conditioning her to be one of his 'girls' when she was of age (for the server). At the age of fourteen she found this out, or rather...it just kind of clicked. So she ran away...and by ran away, I mean she tore his throat out and ran away.

From that point on she lived on the streets. She was able to go off of pity for a few years, however that didn't work after a while. That's when she started noticing other people noticing her. She was developing into a rather attractive woman. She started to take advantage of this. Since her early adulthood she was a seductress, and a dangerous one at that. Most of the time she was too scared to actually bed the men, so instead she killed them and took anything on them of value. ... backwards logic, right? Well, she enjoyed how she felt when she killed her 'parent' but she didn't enjoy watching various women get rented out for her entire childhood.

A few years pass and she starts to relax this a bit, however she hasn't made any real friends. She starts trying to meet people, and it works...but most of them just want to get in her pants, basically. Eventually, she lets them, in hopes that it'll cement some friendships. These 'friendships' always seemed to crumble and leave her more and more wounded inside. Sometimes the friendships would last, though! Sometimes she'd go a little while longer than most with someone, but then it seems that they would turn on her or abandon her. These made it even worse.

At this point the concept of 'love' is not unknown to her, but it's unfelt by her in any way. She never felt the love of her family or friends, and as a result of so many misfortunes she distances herself from most people. However, that started to change a little bit...but not much...

When I brought her into the setting she had gotten to the point where she got a kick out of seducing people and letting them down, essentially. Several times people had actual thought she was a frost witch because of how many people she'd killed after seducing them just to relieve her anger, misery and frustration. Even in the setting she made the mistake of trusting people just to be let down, stabbed in the back, etc.

Then she met Kinra. She was her first love, out of two so far. Things were crumbling around the both of them, their accomplishments such as the tavern crushed and both of them being subject to several awakenings at the cloud temple. But for Dani it was getting better. She rested far too much on Kinra, however. She came home and walked into their room. Just as she opened the door she watched Kinra hang herself, unable to save her as her neck just....snapped. This further cemented the idea that anything and everything can and probably will be taken from her, even something that seems sure.

She took to sex as a vent for her rage, and sometimes seducing the odd "Assclown" and snapping their neck when they least expected it. She had a child with Valmir. It was, obviously, accidental, but she would have the child and 'tone down' her questionable ways as much as she could. About six months into her pregnancy she thought she had lost her child, as she was stabbed in the stomach. She did lose the child, though she brought the infant's body to the monks and they revived her. However, the feeling never goes away for her. She's terrified of losing her daughter, and doesn't feel she can be the parent she needs.

And then Valmir decided he wanted to end his life. She begged and pleaded and told him why he should stay, her, his daughter, his town, but it fell on deaf ears. He was adamant. Several elven days later he took it back and explained things to her, however she's lost a great deal of trust. He lied to her, and was willing to end his life and leave her alone to raise their daughter. Every day she struggles with trying not to pick up the noose she still keeps that Kinra herself used to end her life, and do the same. The thought crosses her mind terrifyingly often. And that's where she is at this point.

Overall, nothing - accomplishments, friends and family - seems to stick, and it all gets taken, turned on her, or destroyed.

Awesome, been looking forward to one of these threads! I've always wanted to be a Frostie, but most of the times that I applied I quickly removed it again because I had too many characters. But now, I have a good balance I think, so here we go again!

The character I wish to (hopefully) get cursed is Makayla, Dark Elf, Ex-Monk, Ex-Druid and current pupil in the Clerical Order and I have her since... October 2012? Little over a year I think.

So, okay, Makayla was, back in Asulon, a very stupid girl who could not think properly or make proper decisions, just because of her stupidity. You can probaply guess why she became homeless. Anyway, Makayla was poor, making a living off of begging people for food, money, a place to stay, etc. Most of the time, she did not get any, thus she wandered the world in search for such a place that would give it to her. And it may have taken her a few years, but she found one; The Cloud Temple. Makayla had never seen such a place before, it was beautiful in her eyes. The Monks of the Cloud Temple allowed her to stay there, and she was happy with the hospitality. She took to reading with her limited abilities, and slowly, the hole in her brain filled up with intelligence. Months passed as she stayed there. As she starter to feel the need to repay the favour, she took a spot in the Wilven Monks to do the exact same thing they had done to her; help people.

But then a man approached, a man who changed her life. His name was Rai, one of the many people who often lingered around the Temple. Both Makayla and Rai took an interest in each other, and they soon fell in love. Years passed, and the two were happy, but then the storms came, and Asulon fell into peril. The waters rose, succumbing the land, and everyone had to flee, including Makayla.

As everyone arrived on Kalos/Elysium (no idea which one came first), Makayla was still a monk, and her job became much harder with all the refugees. So bad, that it became stressful for her. Yet she stayed, but only because it was needed. However, she went over the edge when her husband divorced her. She made her leave of the monks, and fell back into a hermit's life.

More years passed, and the people of Kalos/Elysium spoke of a new land; Anthos. Ships soon departed, with Makayla onboard as well. Weeks on the boats, the inhabitants of the world arrived at tis new land and quickly settled in. Makayla, however, wasn't able to settle in as well. She had no job, no family and no place to call home. But she had once more found such a place; The Druidic Order. With some thouhht, she decided to join as a Dedicant. After taking on the Druidic tasks such as growing a beard, Makayla took on the title of Druid of the Butterfly and was now an attuned. Druid. The world around her seemed more vibrant and living. Whilst she was still a Dedicant, Makayla met someone named Leyun, a Wood Elf. The two became acquianted with each other quickly and fell in love. More years passed and Makayla had a nice and lovely life.

Makayla went to the wilderness on one unfortunate day, to help nature there. She sent a letter back to the Grove, telling Leyun where she was and what she was doing. It never arrived. A year or so passed as Makayla traveled through the wilderness. She returned, and she was happy. On the way home, she bought a diamond ring as a surprise for Leyun. As she arrived, everything seemed normal. Her eyes scanned, and there she was, Leyun. Makayla walked over to her and knelt, asking for her hand. Leyun began to cry. Makayla wondered why at first, but she told her that she thought that Makayla left her, so she got someone else. Devastated by this, Makayla actually left the Druids for her own and Leyun's sake.

Taking back her quiet life, Makayla joined a guild once more, the Clerical Order. The Druidic Aspects did not like her going out and worship another deity, so they broke her attunement. Her mind was so accustomed to being able to sense nature, that this sudden change made her highly depressed. She still is depressed and sorrowful at this moment.

Okay, here you go, wrote down major parts of her life. Half of it is written on my phone, so I will fix any grammar mistakes and make the story a bit better once I get acces to my PC. Thanks for your consideration!

P.S: I'm a crap writer

By applying now, I'm ready to make this my main character. As well as committing to it.

Celia Athlon

Female

Age - 47

Celia’s life was self-sufficient for quite a long time. Working several jobs at time and renting small room in Abresi. She switched jobs as bartenders, midwife, babysitters, laundrywoman, delivery woman, any job she could handle. No matter what, she had did her very best at saving all her money. It somehow gave her satisfaction that all her hard work was rewarded and accumulated.

Her money was spent on rent and a pouch of carrots that could sustain her hunger for several days. While the rest of the money went to savings, she sometimes spent it on chicken oil. She had no money for those fancy creams that were used by noble ladies. But, after long hours with her hands dipped in water and all kinds of washing liquids, her hands became dry and garnled. With the chicken oil, she would rub a little bit every night, in hope to preserve what little left beauty she had.

Time passed, it seemed as if none actually fancied her. Time passed again, life was a routine. Still have hope in dreams of a small family, she decided to settle with a old city guard. They moved into a small home and had one child. Thomas Camred. The only thing life, that made her fill with pride. Celia’s husband soon passed away peacefully one night, it was then just Celia and her child.

Now uncaring about how much her saving was left, Celia worked day and night hoping for the best of her child. But as her child grew older, she felt something was wrong. Her child wasn’t developing. Not developing mentally. She often had to repeat her instructions. Her child didn’t have opinions. He stuck with very simple words. He couldn’t take care of himself.

During Celia’s busy hours, she couldn’t really keep an eye on her child as well as keep up with her work. Time passed, Celia grew even older, her child older as well, her co-workers looked at her child with mocking eyes. Though her child was still her prized possession, it was inevitable to slowly him see as a burden.

Winter came and even though Celia dressed her child in all the thick woollen clothes she had, he developed a cold. Celia decided to leave him alone in the house, assuming that some rest would do the job. When she returned home that night, her son was already feverish with fever. With the money left, she sought a doctor, who prescribed one medicine and instructions to what she should do to her child. A day passed, Celia took leave to all her jobs and stayed home with her child. More days passed, her child was still sick, his parched throat coughing ever so occasionally. Counting the money she had left, she decided to tell the doctor to visit once more. The doctor had frowned in the moment he entered the room, placing a hand on the child’s forehead, he shook his head slowly, the fever had rose too high, it might started burning, burning some of the brain cells. He prescribed some more medicine, but he told Celia that her hopes shouldn’t be high.

More days passed, her son had still not awoken from his fever. Looking at the last few coins in her hand, she decided to buy a vial of sleeping medicine. Her son was a burden. For a sudden, she looked at her hand, feeling somehow lonely with no more of her money. Her son had not worked, not but an effort in helping her. Now she had spent all her money on the child. In a spur of a moment, she returned home and slipped the whole vial into her child’s throat, thinking that it would end his misery as well as hers.

Next morning, looking at the lifeless body of her child, she slowly regained her senses, of what she had done. He was only a child. He was her child. Burying him tenderly in a church nearby, she left the home, and started to wander around in the world of Anthos. Working. Working.

She never stopped working. No longer buying chicken oil. She accumulated all her wealth. For what? Perhaps in repay. To give a better life to her dead child, which he never had. There was no one to blame, but her.

(Definately interested in this, I just can't decide which of my depressed, been-missing-for-a-while characters would be best be suited to be a Fja. I will edit and put my final choice here.)

Alright. I was actually slightly afraid to post an app, but what the Nether. I'm interested to see how this will play out. Even if the app is accepted, my character may still reject the transformation, depending on how things play out. But enough of that.

I have been playing my character, Sherria Carver, since Asulon, and she is my new main. I have no other characters besides her, and I believe I'm fairly active on the server. And now for some backstory! (I would post my VA, which contains most of her info, but it seems to have... gone missing...)

Sherria Carver
25(?) years old

Human

Sherria was born a shy, soft and gentle girl. Problem was, she was born amongst a band of thieves in the Asulon wilds. She wanted to be useful to them, but everything she tried, she failed miserably in. All except knife-play. She was raised as an assassin, forcing her to choose between wanting to be useful to her family, or not hurt anybody.

Unable to decide, she created an alter ego, a state of mind: Carver. As Carver, she pushed out all her weak thoughts and did what needed to be done. It gave her some sort of comfort that it isn't technically her who's hurting people. As she grew up, though, Carver started developing into her own personality, though not entirely separate from Sherria.

The turning point came, one day, when she saw her entire 'family' backstab each other over a recent heist. Her mother betrayed the whole clan, selling them out to the authorities. Her brother, which she loved dearly, was killed trying to protect her. The one man whom she trusted, her mentor, ratted her out to the authorities. She managed to escape before she was caught, and was forced to live on her own by her own means.

It was then that Carver's task shifted. No longer was she just called out to do things that Sherria can't or won't; she became her guardian. She took away Sherria's bad memories in order to preserve her innocence, bearing the burden herself. Sherria remained as her gentle self, while Carver grew bitter and distrusting as time passed.

Carver has always been in a perpetual state of despair. Firstly, she takes Sherria's bad memories as her own, feeling what Sherria would feel in that circumstance. If Sherria's pet died, Carver would mourn on her behalf. Carver, in turn, gives Sherria all the happy thoughts, and she's afraid to be happy herself. If she decided to have her own life, she was perfectly capable of erasing Sherria, so she forces herself to be miserable to prevent that. On the other hand, she knows that one day she may just snap and harm Sherria.

Sherria has already gone through 3 boyfriends (well, 2 and 1 girlfriend), and Carver has taken the heartbreak for all three. She's also had two previous relationships of her own, both of which never worked out, of course. She knows that Sherria would willingly give her own love life up for the sake of Carver, and Carver doesn't want that at all, so she refrains from any romantic ties.

Carver has developed her own needs and wants, much to her dismay. What's worse, they normally clash with what Sherria wants, or directly puts her in danger. She lives a miserable life, where all happiness brings guilt, and rest and relaxation is unheard of. She's forced to be nice to people she dislikes for Sherria's sake, and step into situations where she'd rather not under request from Sherria. She's constantly in conflict with herself. Do what she wants? Or what Sherria wants?

Getting marked to be a frost witch would be... interesting. She would try her best to reject such a thing if she learns what being a frost witch entails. Sherria will never be able to live a normal life again, and that is what exactly she's trying to prevent. Then again, the despair may overwhelm her, and she may just give in. I honestly don't know what will happen myself.

[Edit: Found my VA again. The links in my signature should take you to it, which has her backstory during the character's conceptualization.]

No-one has been accepted yet. The forum post was part one of applying, part two is just a bit of rp.
