A Disturbing Absence Answered By A Strange Appearance

In the cavernous bowels of Kal'Ithrun, the city of storms, something seems to have gone amiss. An absence is felt, the absence of the thick smell of sulfur on the housing quarters, an absence of explosions, of pungent smells and strange noises. The absence of an alchemist, and a rather powerful one.

The small apartment-turned-into-a-laboratory of Kardel Irongut remains uninhabited for a good month now, its plants left to wither and the furniture covered in cobwebs and dust. Whatever experiments conducted within the laboratory are left free to roam within the stony confines of the tiny chamber. Inhaling the very air next to the iron door confining the interior of the laboratory inside the laboratory would fill one's lungs with the stale smell of dust.

Something does not seem right, not right at all. No longer is that slightly taller-than-most, pale, and deep voiced dwarf with green robes flowing behind him seen in the depths of the dwarven city. It seems as if he has vanished without a trance. Where would someone as helpless as him go to? Years of arcane studies, dedication to alchemy, and war had weakened the poor soul the last time he was seen. Where would such a creature go for refuge, but in his home?

Eventually one would start to worry and report such a thing to the Legion or perhaps the Alchemy Guild, and fortunately one did. Where did this once high ranking official of dwarven society go? Was he finally taken by Dungrimm to rest and feast in his halls for eternity, or perhaps did he just go off pursuing adventure? As the old lab's door was pried open, the answer became clear in the form of a note.

Dear reader

You chance upon this note because you care about me, most likely. Perhaps you do not care at all, and maybe you are just here to evict me because I am not paying my taxes. I do not blame you, this prolonged absence might raise many questions, or none at all. IF you are a robber, you've just caused yourself a load of trouble, as there is no riches to be found here; I took all the riches with me. I will not reveal where I have gone as it will cause people to try and find me. I don't want to be found, in all truth, I quite enjoy this life, or whatever is left of it. Anyways, bottom line is I've moved from Kal'Ithrun. Worry not, I still remain in the dwarven lands, only traveling outside from time to time, but I repeat that I do NOT want to be found. I still live, and will live for a good 200 years at the least, so worry not about my life. Simply put: I'm bored and am searching for adventure. You may remove the door's locks and resell this house for all I care, most hazardous substances have been removed. This is all I have to say.

I will be back from time to time, maybe not at all-

Kardel Irongut 'Snowborn'

Meanwhile, a strange dwarf walks into the gates of Kal'Ithrun, an answer to the absence of the old alchemist. Fiery red hair and pale, almost white skin with glowing amber eyes hints the arrival of another one of Kardel's descendants. With a smile on his face, he goes up to the tiny alchemy guild stand and retrieves a quill from his side. After licking the tip and dipping it in ink, he simply asks "W'ere du ah soign, hmmm?" The dwarf behind the counter looks at him with a perplexed expressions, and points to a blank piece of parchment. The milk-skinned dwarf signs with a flowing hand, his handwriting much finer quality than most dwarves, reading:

Lucifer Irongut

((Why am I starting a new character, you ask? Well, the alchemy guild has been terribly inactive and I don't want to let it die, as it took me a lot of dedication to create it. I can't return with Kardel as he has some pretty complex rp going on and it would not make sense for him to be leader of the alchemy guild as well as doing what he does now. With this character i'll have an excuse to rp around the guild, build a PROPER alchemist's HQ, and possibly get the Hogwarts-Like rp i intended for the alchemy guild going. If you have any questions or criticisms, just post it, I don't mind. Also, I know it might seem like some major Meta since I'm playing my own char's son, but there just was no other way I could relate to the guild at my preferred level without doing this. There, take you explanation, and enjoy a dubstep-reggae mix by skrillex and Damian Marley used in the all time favorite ubisoft game: far Cry 3))

((Just a quick question, Why did you call your character "Lucifer", another name for Satan? Mother of God....))

((Ah, I see you noticed the not-so-subtle reference! Well, Kardel's whole line is creepy and kind worships Khorvad very friendly. I decided to name him so because it is a terrible name for a terrible dwarf! Muahuaehuehuehue!))
