E__V__O 2000 Share Posted January 4, 2014 The monks have no purpose to turn off the barrier for this short event, it would drain the mana we hold to take it down than place it back on within role play wise, with that being said it than also is for players to have a peace moment inside to feel safe, with than a havon of new players. The monks won't turn it off for the battle as you could bring it into the temple, and in my mind it will come to that~ we do not want people to see other people getting killed on the temple grounds so the barrier will stay simply stated as that. With this being said the battle to happen can happen!, but the barrier will still be up to serve as protection for anyone that wants to get away from the battle. So many reasons are to hold it to be kept up, deal with it within role play as it is their in role play. The monks do yes, you have that correct do not want to conflict with other nation battles between eachother, which is WHY we have the barrier up to escape from it and to protect those that will for it inside. So no the barrier would'nt be turned off.
Will (TauFirewarrior) 2466 Share Posted January 4, 2014 I will simply state it is where the cloud temple is since the players wanted it here. The barriers will not be turned off and if you continue toe battle than people can abuse the barriers set up. It is your own choice to move the battle or not. It is just who sees it fair. We've said it many times the battle cannot be moved, its the only crossing between North and South.
Lita 677 Share Posted January 4, 2014 To correct Westen, the barrier cannot be 'turned off'. The monks do not control it, the Trumvirate do. It's not possible. If you cannot move your battle, then it cannot be done.

Lita 677 Share Posted January 4, 2014 So be it. I really have no opinion on it either way, just the fact that at the moment it breaks VA rules. The lore was a byproduct of that institution, and I've been trying to get into contact with someone to change the rules, however, haven't had the chance yet. Edit: Also, be aware that it would be simple for people to run into one of the PVP-protected zones when they were low on health, which might cause issues with the battle. Stag 3234 Share Posted January 4, 2014 The PVP safe zones will not be turned off for the battle. That being said there is no reason the battle cannot take place where it is currently planned to take place. So it's simple. If you are in the safe zone region you cannot PvP, obviously. If you move out of it then it is fine. There is nothing stopping the battle. Following the mechanical standard if you can fight in MC then you can indeed fight in MC. RP not being able to fight in certain spots due to the CT aura.

The reason the 'Archemy' plugin was introduced is so Alchemists can have some impact as well as fight in PvP.

Lark 2227 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Orokana readies his staff, angry still over their loss of the battle last elven day to the human scum of Oren. He prepares, floating down from the far reaches of the North, ready to assist the dwarves to remove the smelly human beasts. Lark chuckles as he runs a gauntleted finger down a Harbinger's scythe he pried from the ice after felling the unholy creature in pitched combat. "One down, few more te' go." In the background of his cabin, the sword Viik'thall sits on a counter, surrounded by notes and sketchpads.
