War Rules. A Clarification

Hello everyone, BNK here to give a clarification on the current war rules.

While a small announcement it will immediately effect how the community is handling war zones in LOTC. This is regarding war zones but also duels, skirmishes and sparring.

~~~~~
When Nation leaders discuss and agree on war rules and how they will handle war zones between battles they may not dictate if RP is needed before PvP. What this means is you will always need to RP before initiating PvP and you cannot just PvP your opponent even if they are in the war zone.
Skirmishes may occur in said war zones if Nation leaders agree to that but what may not happen is each side of the battle camping the war zone between battles and killing random players without properly RPing and who are not involved to begin with. If you want to kill someone, RP with them. Stop being item hungry. New players have been getting killed without any RP. Is that how we want to introduce them to LOTC?
Also anyone found breaking the 30 minute death rule will be dealt with, and likely receive a ban. That rule includes returning to battle. You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT come back to any battle or war. It doesn't matter if the battle lasts more than 30 minutes. If you die, you die. Fight the temptation or risk being banned.  (restated by the admin team)
Rittsy Edit: [ In regards to the above statement, the official rule as of now is "Y ou may not return to the scene of your death until 30 minutes after the EVENT of your death concludes". For example, if you died in battle, you can not return to the battle zone until 30 minutes after the battle ends. However, if you're merely killed in a duel, your death means the duel is over and thus the regular 30 minutes applies. As always, using loopholes as an excuse to ignore this will still result in punishment. ]
Thank you for reading. Let's keep those battle clean.
TLDR;
-Nation Leaders can't dictate if RP is needed before battles.
-Don't break the 30min death rule.
-Give proper RP before battles/killing.
-Even if you are organizing a fight in TS or over Skype proper RP is required, not suggested but required.
These battles are fun because they last hours due to people coming back after thirty minutes.  People should be able to come back after thirty minutes or it defeats the constant battle-system that we have been using.
Edit: We've all agreed to these rules and have been having fun with them.  If you're keen on protecting new players make a Region telling them that they are entering a Warzone as been suggested to a number of GMs.
@Kebab
As of right now this is how it works. We will be working towards creating a better, more efficient war system for the future. For right now to stop/limit the abuse we will be enforcing these rules.
First off, I'll give you the link to this thread:
Second, I do not see the point with not being able to return to battle/war after 30 minutes. I'm actually a bit confused at what you are saying. If we die at all today, are we not allowed to return to the Warzone? Or just on specific raids and skirmishes,which usually only last
10 minutes, and then we can return after the 30 minutes?
Third, It makes little to no sense why we can't continue our PvP the way it has been going. Both sides have enjoyed these PvP raids and Skrimishes, and why the Staff is getting involved and effecting this war negatively is beyond me. The Nation Leaders [Who have more of an effect on other players than GMs] have taken it upon themselves to enforce the "Trench Warfare Rules", so we're really going to fight for the right to use the rules both Nations have agreed upon.
Perhaps we can discuss this in TeamSpeak, seeing it's the only
way to solve this quickly and efficiently.
It's their own fault for walking past the sign that says PVP WARZONE!
Let them die.
To be fair, Cyndi, some areas really don't leave enough signs saying this... One or two signs in a very particular location doesn't really constitute for a 'huge' area, though, I think 'warzones' should be regioned and have a sort of warning message when you enter them. This will help players steer clear and avoid thinking they just got unfairly attacked.
Literally the staff is killing the one enjoyment I've had on the server for the past 4 months. We have all been just fine with this, besides hacking and a few bickers its been completely fine. Both sides win on a daily basis. But really this move is truly a idiotic a lot of old players have come back to enjoy the constant pvp and the warfare going on during this war and are having the most fun. Isn't that what the staff has been striving for? Fun? Not constant OOC complaining?
This is an rp server.
Wanting to PvP is one thing, but if all you want is to PvP without rp perhaps this isn't the best place to be.
There is one thing people need to learn before making replies like this or judging others. The server has different groups that enjoy different aspects of minecraft and the server.The Dwarves in particular enjoy their combat events that involve pvp, pve, with rp on the side. Just because someone has tired of rp doesn't mean 'it isn't the place to be' people may just be tired of the constant bickering abut rp and are excited for the thrill that pvp brings, and know that it is between three of the factions that enjoy the same thing.
On the issue of signs, we put up multiple warnings at every reasonable entrance into the area. We even allowed new players through our area w/o harm if they don't know about sign warning(the dwarves did at least, not on Human/orc side so don't know what their policies are).
EDIT: Unfortunately since there's no region for the area, there's no way to apply a message like that unless a region is made. If one was made however, it would be a brilliant idea
You do realize NO NEW PLAYER has ever walked into the warzone and gotten PvP'd once without knowing. It's incredibly hard to even get past the human defenses from the back, let alone cross into the warzone. There's signs, as well as there being a damn forum thread. Wherever you're getting this information from, it's practically bullshit, IMO.
Nobody is "item hungry", we want to have a fun war. "Oh, but that makes you PvP hungry, lol" try rp'ing with 8v8 guys at once, you can't even see what's going on in the chat. Also, wars and combat are an essential part of the LoTC universe.
If you listed some names of those affected, maybe that'd provide further insight?
You have to walk past 5 signs to enter the warzone... But yes, warning messages couldn't bring any harm.
Edit: And yes 30326, we do allow people to travel through our side aslong as they follow a Rp protocol at the gates.
TBH the war zone could stand to be moved forward at this point. It's right up against the nation crossing and I think this means the odd dazed, confused new player may stumble into random PvP.
This is to help those not involved. Some things to draw attention to. You guys are saying "Both sides" are enjoying it. What about those not involved? This clarification is something to protect those players because while you may be having a good time, it shouldn't effect/come at the expense of another.
You can participate in multiple battles a day, just not the same one. I shouldn't even need to clarify the 30 minute rule as that has been a server rule for as long as I can remember. The staff isn't trying to stomp out your fun. I think it's great that you guys are enjoying it. I just don't want players, new or old, that aren't involved to be negatively effected by the war. Yes they should know it's a war zone but they should also be able to RP on an RP server.
It's a simple fix. Just add RP before you battle. If you can't do that then I must ask. Why are you on an RP server? If you really need to, go PvP on a PvP server. In the end we are an RP server and you need to respect other players wishes to RP before you brutally murder them and their families.
