Mod Action:

South German Federation:

The 7,000 Swiss soldiers were ready to die for their country, farmers were handed muskets with 2 shots and a melee weapon of their choosing. The Cannons on the city walls fire explosive rounds as well as grapeshot rounds at the troops to soften the defenses, killing 4 machine gun nest and 100 troops. Then the actually fighting starts militia men march out of the city armed with muskets they march on the positions firing and taking cover, this kills 100 more troops but they are all slaughtered in the fire. Then the tank the only one that escaped the train rolls out of the city behind them, men armed with grenade launchers firing teargas into the lines having the tank as cover more men in gas mask march out armed with Ak-47s and M16s they fire into the disorientated troops.

Ethiopia

A strange sickness comes down on the settlers in Scotland, killing 20 of the men.

New Haven:

The men reach the end of the tunnel but when they arrive bullets whiz by them, killing two men instantly.

Highlands:

The scouts would find southern Scotland even more raditidated then northern Scotland was and it didn't seem very inhabitable, it look close to untouched though, maybe some things need to kill the cloud were in this area.

Gothic Tribe of Nuuk

With the Soknbatr built, two small wooden longboats are built, and are pushed out into the Nuuk bay. Then, the Soknbatr is taken out, and the cannons loaded. The cannons are tested on one of the longboats, and the results were devastating. The initial broadside crippled the vessel, and a test of the frontal cannons finished it off. The second test subject is first shot with the frontal cannon, and then rammed, to simulate a pursuit. Again, the results were tremendously successful, the other ship being broken into two halves due to the sheer force of the Soknbatr's ram. The Soknbatr then redocks in the harbour of Nuuk, and awaits further instructions.

Meanwhile, the colonists arrive at their location, which they have taken to calling Nyhavn. They first construct the housing for the colonists, as well as basic utilities such as a lumber camp, and a small farm to provide the settlers with food. After these are built, those who are not farming or cutting wood begin constructing the port, which is expected to take several months to be operational. ((3 pages))

The Fort to the North of the great lakes was completed, essentially giving the Union control over the whole of the Western area of the Lakes. It is garrisoned by it's settlers, who's main village is just outside the town. They are provided with 12 cannons and 50 Winchester rifles.

The 2nd cavalry battalion finished it's own string of forts, although they are more like wooden palisades than the true bastions. They enable for quick and easy mobilization to combat threats on the Western border.

Starvation and unemployment begin to grow rampant on the eastern, and poorer, districts of the Union. In order to combat this, a temporary ration of resources is put forth, with most crops going to the east until their own farms can recuperate. As for the unemployment, the people are hired to construct a road that runs on the east and west axis of the Union. This would provide greater mobility for trade, traffic, and military movements should they be necessary. ((2 pages))

Also scouts are sent to the Great Lakes after rumors reached them of a settlement being founded. Does the Union accept the armed diplomats into their settlement to talk.

The South German Federation

Berne, The Swiss Republic

The fighting was hard, the tear gas that was unleashed disoriented hundreds of troops for a few moments. However, the Swiss had seized those few moments. Hundreds of them opened fire as they marched out of the city, chucking what grenades they had at the fortified South German positions. It was soon clear that this battle would not easily be won. Nearly 850 men died in the initial wave, leaving less than 2500 men left to take the city. As the men march out, the few remaining machine gun nests mow them down, their gas masks protecting them from the tear gas that other soldiers are suffering from. RPG-7s are shot from other established positions, blowing away dozens of soldiers from the Swiss Republic. Soon, ammo begins to run low in machine gun nests, and the tanks and humvees run low on fuel. The officers in charge decide the time has come to take the city.

The sortie that attempted to destroy the attacking force makes its way through the hundreds of bodies of Swiss they left in their wake, marching up to the walls. Charges are set and the walls of the city crumble. Soon, South German soldiers storm the city and are at the gates of the Federal Building in the center of the city. The Swiss Republican government is rounded up and executed publicly in the square. Radio contact is established with other divisions in Switzerland, declaring the war over. They are now to begin military police duties, keeping the population from large scale rebellion.

A force of roughly 300 pioneers and scouts move across the Alps to establish a large colony in Northwest Italy.

The Ethiopian Kingdom

The Colonialist forces had created road blocks & fortifications with the rubble of the city. The remaining Mehal Sefari armed the Serbian survivors with shifts to secure the area. The goverment settled itself in the central square, on the highest building to be found. From there, they used the old tables & tools to run the place. On the central square bags of sand & stones are placed to fortify certain points, an old Serbian flag is placed in the middle of the square, and people salvage the cars & buildings nearby.

The scouting party sent to scout the collapsed library found a Post WW3 map of Europe, showing the factions and scrabbles of lines and arrows. Also the recipe for a beverage is found, but it isn’t a priority to read it as of now.

A goverment is established, and awaits the repairs of their current ship. They also cheer when the second ship arrived with weaponry, food, seeds & 2 watermills with cables. However, all those things must wait as for now they try to stabilize their current condition. The appointed governor registers his people, and fortunatly speaks Serbian like the survivors. Morale is high, seeing how they are send by Selassie themself to make this city functional.

A party is send with the bags of seeds to plant them in the marshy flooded lands down South, and are escorted with the Mehal. It will be the basic ground for their agriculture, and would mean that homeland can have its surplus food again.

People are send to try and repair the Lignite & Copper mine up north in the hill. The Lignite mine comes first. However, another project combines with this. The abandoned mining village up north will be attemped to be claimed as observatory, the road to there will be cleared from all rubble. However, the necessity for candles arises.

To answer the desire for candles, hunters go out to hunt on boars & bears up North. However, they are alarmed to not pass over the hills far away. Thats where the villages of the hostiles are located. Several go hunt & harvest, hoping that they would have enough for the candles.

Aleksandar took a deep breath as he looked at the aftermath Serbian city, imagine if this actually had civilization.

Meanwhile in Scotland, things look bright for the Ethiopians. Even though the first generation got sick eventually, the second generation seemed to live fine in the Scottish highlands. As farms grew, the Celts seemed far more educated & civilized. They had their own functional goverment, muskets and several boats. Unexpected was however, that the Celtic & Orthodox religion would mix into Celtic Orthodoxism. Churches are erected, and art from Ethiopia becomes more daily in Scotland. With both workers, they start working on a wall.. sealing off a major part from the Northern & dangerous coasts. ((6 pages))

Meanwhile, the Hazmat suits are received from the Scottish, and are aided in reproduction. The cloud remained, but the air is far more fresher inside it. With the exotic trees growing and giving fruits, advanced cooking comes to notice in Scotland. A stone mine is being made in the mountains, and is planned to be shipped towards Ethiopia ((5 pages))

Back in homeland, the Ethiopian goverment reforms heavily. A ministry is appointed for a more primitive democracy and control over the population. As hunters & farmers bring food in surplus numbers. Most projects are finished. With a larger oil income, the vehicles are able to operate more often. Several solar panels are salvaged here and there, and are being used to power the refinery even better.

Welfare also increases, the streets are lighted with candles everyday. Giving more darker areas accesability, and more salvage. Candles are the primary light source for now, and every structure has them.

Several horses are imported from Scotland, and are being bred for future usage in the city. Roads are being made all around the kingdom from stone & wood, and the locomotives are functioning and transporting minerals faster to the city. The handcrafting becomes more mechanized and advanced, and more advanced weapons are being able to be made. These muskets don’t use gunpowder. However, are heavier than the previous rifles. Slowly but surely, these rifles are becoming easier to make. Expected is that it would take several months for it to be able to be produced.

A trading caravan with gold is send to the Zulu & New Arab Republic, each coming in peace. They would act peaceful, and the sandstorm fastens the travel by a month.

The arsenals of the Union begin to work on adding counter-infantry rifling to the Winchester rifles being used by the armed forces.

A fourth factory opens up, this time to the east of Gastion. It produces parts needed for grenades.

The group of explorers in Antartica surveys the area and finds various natural resources. They sent a ship back, asking the government for more resources for the "project".

A battalion of Cuirrasiers is raised. These heavy cavalry men are armed with sabers and revolvers.

Cuirassiers_1887.jpg

The addition of a socket bayonet for the Winchester rifles goes underway.

Two companies of Grenadiers are raised from the Eastern districts. They are part of a new Line regiment.

Culverins are made by hand in Newcastle, which means production of these artillery pieces is rather slow.

Work on a monitor class ship begins in Newcastle, and is estimated to take several months. ((2 pages))

Several of the military units are trained in wilderness warfare. The camp is by the Northern fort of the great lakes.

A riding school is established in Gastion, It would essentially work to make the recruitment and training of cavalry much quicker.

After initial negotiations with the inhabitants of Fort Knox, the troops sent there dig in. They make strong trenches, and use their howitzer to continually bombard the surface of the base. They try to disable the 1/2 artillery pieces that the bandits are armed with. Some troops are put in reserve, should the bandits have allies that wish to attack through the rear. ((MOD post needed))

REINO DE NUEVA HABANA

The battle of Nueva Habana rages on, with both the fort and the fleet firing on the barbarians at the gates. Military leaders are dumbfounded that the barbarians had the genius to bypass a blockade, only to then disembark all their soldiers between two walls of cannon and rifle fire.

On the continent, the royal army moves to solidify control over the entire region, killing off smaller outposts of barbarian soldiers. The land is named Veracruz, after of the ruin where the largest army contingent in the north landed. Any barbarians who do not put up a fight are sent to the Yucatan to begin clearing the land and harvesting the lumber.

The Ethiopian Kingdom

With the massive stone & mineral income, the Ethiopians start investing in their culture. The city of Addis is massively being repaired by the citizens, and the market has gone through some changes. It is replaced in the old mosque, powered by the found solar panels and several small windmills. It has much more space, comfort and organization. More business and products come to the market. Tailors, scavengers & Artists sell their products throughout the building.

11(16).jpg

Selassie was bound to introduce a new concept to keep the market more smooth and thriving. Currency. He saw some of it in books and in chests salvaged. With the massive gold incomes from his mine, he introduces... Dinar.

doubloon.png

Every citizen who works for the goverment receives some Dinars in return, from those Dinars they can buy products on the markets and perhaps trade them for a more expensive price. More jobs will be avaidable, and trading could be more monitored. However, the desire for electricity arises in Ethiopia. With all mills functioning, Selassie orders to make more of these windmills and a coal plant. The windmills would power the coal plant, who would massively electrify Ethiopia. Both would take months to be build ((8 pages)).

coalpower2.jpg

Back in Scotland, the Ethiopians start to feel sick there... Their hope is settled on the Celtic doctors. However, the herbs & spices do not work. Desperate the sick Ethiopians ship back to Ethiopia for medical threatment. Fortunatly, loyal & dedicated Scottish are taking over Ethiopian business, and Ethiopia has risks of losing Scotland out of its grip.

In the Serbian colony, the rubble gets slowly cleaned up as the team works upwards to the mines. A map is found of the city, and there seems to be a police station nearby. After the road to the mine is clear, they will scout that police station. The farms are being planted, and the mills placed.

Music, Literate & religion becomes more dominant in Scotland.

Kingdom Of The Highlands

800px-Flag_of_Scotland_(traditional)_svg

-Nation

The reports from the scouts is brought to King George, he orders 10 scouts to go down to research and test the already made hazard suits. They are ordered to move towards the old Scottish capital "Edinburgh." The king believes that if the gods truly is near the capital, they will be able to bring them back to Glasgow, and ask for help. He is happy to hear thought that the air in Edinburgh is about stable.
He also orders the scouts to move to the capital and declare all of southern Scotland a part of the highlands kingdom, by placing a flag in central Edinburgh. The Highlands will then afterwards begin to colonize the parts, and hopefully make them inhabitable in the future. The scouts are also ordered to look for any item in Edinburgh, that can help them in the fight against the cloud.

To be sure the mission will succeed, King George sends his seconds son, Prince Charles as the scout team leader. with the Ethiopian education, a communication link between Prince Charles and King George is set. Prince Charles is a skilled scout, and is also smart. (told by his Ethiopian teacher) ((Need a mod to tell me if they find the gods, or a device to use against the cloud))

bio%2Bhazard%2Bsuit.jpg

-Ethiopia

News of the sick Ethiopians sadden King George, they have done much for the Scottish people. to him, it almost seems like they can continue on their own, but that is a question for another time. But King George is indeed interested in this "coin" the Ethiopians are using. for too long Chicken have been the official currency in The Highlands. King George sends a letter to Ethiopia asking for the coin to be used and produced, in the Scottish lands. Mostly to honor the friendship between the 2 nations.

-Civilization

The Scottish people is very pleased with the recent changes, and the population increasing. it is now expected that about 500 children will be born every year, and slowly increase.
