It took several months of searching and delving deeper to reach anything of interest in the cave. When the scouts did, they soon wished they had not.

 

A single, massive storeroom was discovered. Seemingly untouched, as the discoverers pressed in it revealed its secrets to the light. Lining the walls were hundreds upon hundreds of...things.

 

 

There would be no way for the Africans to recognize a drone, or robotics of any sort. To them, the lifeless, meter-tall Indo-Japanese terror drones would simply be...monsters. Their weaponry shines in the torchlight, and the more the scouts look, the more they see, still hundreds more perched upon racks in the walls. They instinctively draw back in fear at something so alien.

 

Who accidentally activates them is unknown, for none who enter that cave ever return. But the people above care not for where they came from. By the time the swarm reaches the surface, they are concerned only with survival.

 

The terror drones had been programmed over 300 years ago, and their foul purpose had been to spread chaos and death in a world far more organized than this. Following their original orders, they target the capital's power supply first, though their movements are so complex that only careful study would reveal that that is their first goal. In fact, they appear to tear up everything in sight. Solar panels, generators, everything is left a pile of scarp as they move on.

 

Guard forces are initially unable to react: chaos spreads across the city as the citizens panic. The fast terror drones kill everything they come across, down to the dogs.

 

Smoke soon rises from the capital as it is engulfed in flames. Those that can, escape beyond its borders, the area being scoured. And once nothing remains but ruins, the drones pour out as well.

 

This is what they were made for. The swarm spreads out across the countryside, moving as one yet apart. refugees are overtaken and cut down by the thousands, and as news reaches across the rest of the faction's territory of the monsters, whole villages pack their belongings and run.

 

Russia

 

Rumors continue to trickle in more and more of the presence in the east. Some of the refugees look quite experienced in battle. If they could not stop it, who can?

((Being that I have most obviously not been playing, I've decided to destroy the perruvians. I disliked them. Highly.))

 

The men on the mountain had thought they'd found the key to expansion. The key to continued life. Little did they know, tapping into the 5 or so fuel cans left, pumping up one of the three helicopters found on the airfield full of the stuff was bad enough an idea. The worst of it, was when they attempted to fly it. Right into the side of the mountain. 

 

This subsequently caused a truly massive rock slide, a thunderous sound echoing through out the forests as massive boulders came down upon the city's and villages sitting in the shadow of the great mountain. All was laid to ruin, destroyed and crushed. Thousands died. Thousands screamed, ran, and were crushed. The men on top of the mountain threw themselves off, unable to face themselves with what they had done. 

 

The oh so few survivors of the terrible disaster simply wandered away, their family's, nation, and life crushed. They had nothing. They wandered, disheartened and falling from many a different death.

THE UNITED KINGDOM

The diplomats are welcomed with a lavish feast, told they hope they get what they deserve, and sent back to their colony with nothing even resembling diplomacy.

 

~THE UNION~

 

The Union is told that they can settle the exact lands which the Honshu just began to colonize. They are told to bring many weapons for fear of Aztec Barbarians in the region.

 

A bishop is set up over the Union and given vast autonomy, but warned that his authority is derived from the Pope in Veracruz.

 

~WARDOM OF NEW ENGLAND~

 

Infante Bermundo, the king's brother, is sent with a few nobles and priests to attend the wedding. No diplomacy or trade is offered or accepted at this point.

 

~NEO MOUNTIES OF BRITISH COLUMBIA~

 

A regiment of tercios lands on the coast of British Columbia. They arrive with crates of fine goods including cigars, cotton clothing, and refined sugar. Anyone who asks them they anything they tell that they are on a secret mission from their king of the utmost importance.

 

~AUSTRALIA~

 

Measures are taken to ensure that the Australians know what great friends the United Kingdom are to them, and they offer reduced strait taxes and gifts of luxuries to their king.

 

~EAST INDIES~

 

Several military grade ships land on the Southern Philippines, flying the flag of the United Kingdom. They inexplicably show up on nothing more than rumors from Australian traders. The colonists immediately begin setting up camp and send diplomats north to the Honshu they have heard so much about.

The Honshu Republic

The colonies in Manchuria suddenly go dark, a large and calculated attack on the colony from an unknown power was conducted. When Japanese trading vessels entire the colony to discover nothing but burning buildings, dead bodies, and shelled out ships that were sitting in the harbour, a search begins. As the men enter deeper into the city, a single message is left for whoever found it. The flag of the People's Republic of China. Nothing more, nothing less. It is to serve as a warning, the lands of Manchuria were for the People's Republic. Patrol vessels along the Manchurian coast are shot down, sleek metal U-Boats (or something similar) now scan the coast of Manchuria and Beijing, two warships resting ominously in the harbour of Tianjin. 

 

 

The Dragon Empire

Small feudal villages along the border begin to burn, massive plumes of smoke filling the sky along the border. The sounds of cannon and artillery fire could be heard throughout the land. Mechanized vehicles were even rumored, along with tanks. It was all so vague. Then, it happened. The mechanical hum, the shouts of horror, wonder, and shock, and then bombs. Bombs dropped from the sky on Xi'an. And then, in even more of a shock, leaflets were soon followed. They were a simple red, the flag of the People's Republic of China.

The New Norwegian Kingdom

The construction of New Narvik is mostly finished, and the Kingdom enjoys the North's Reindeer furs and meat, bred by the natives. Trade begins to blossom in the capital, shops and booths offering all types of furs, meat, fish and even some jewellery for the more wealthy. King Olav VI founds an institute in Trondheim, using one of the deserted universities and it's library and declaring the institute "The Royal New Norwegian Institute of Medicine". This institute was a possibility because of two reasons, the aggressive expandion of the Kingdom, enabling it access to the vast pool of Norwegian plants and wildlife to play with in their laboratories, and the findings of books detailing medicine from before the "Fall of the Golden Age". The researchers at the institute show a particular interest for an antibiotic the book talks of, named penicilin. According to the book, a certain type of fungi is the main ingredient, and experiments begin ((6 pages))

King Olav VI, enthusiastic after the succesful re-capture of the rest of Northern Norway, looks onwards South for more land. A force of 3,500 soldiers, armed with rifles and handguns and HK416s amass at the South-Western border of the Kingdom, readying. The goal is to march South and take the Western coast, first swooping in to take Bergen, then leaving 1,500 troops to guard the city and newly taken land, whilst also "convincing" any resistant locals to join under the Kingdom's reign, as the other 2,000 troops would continue marching South along the Western coast to take Stavanger and the area between it and Bergen as well. The army would always be preceeded by scout groups, to make sure they do not go into any traps and that they have better knowledge of the land they're marching through.

Total population stands at 110,000 with population of new lands gained in the North of Norway.

The Texas Rangers

News of colonizes popping up around the world spread to Jacob. A new force is being prepared to colonize a land once known as Africa.

With the new population being 450,000 food issues rise but more men are enlisted into the army, armed with muskets and shotguns. A new company is formed soul out of the men based in Florida, 10,000 men strong half armed with M4s and muskets the other swords and shields. They were to conquer the rest of Florida at the end of winter.

A message is sent to Cuba:

Brothers of Stalingrad

 

National Actions (Mod)

The Council is relocated to the Kremlin in Moscow.

 

The Radio Tower in Stalingrad is being dismantled and will hopefully be transported to Moscow as well. 20,000 Soldiers are relocated to Moscow while the General in Stalingrad is to coordinate a defensive against the Mongols. some 30,000 Infantry and 6,000 Cossacks are preparing for war in Stalingrad as a Defensive plan is being worked up.

 

A diplomat and small escort are sent to the Mongols in hoping of attempting to receive a demand or tribute to stall them as long as they can.

 

Massive amounts of the population abandon Stalingrad to flee to Moscow, the fields in Stalingrad prepped to be destroyed if necessary as well as many of the factories and mines wanting to leave the enemy with nothing, should it come to this.

The Neo Mounties of Western Canada

 

10,000 Mounties troops march East to Alberta, to the Red Plains. What they find is many dead bodies, the aftermath of a bloody war.

A total of 8000 of the original 12000 Mounties in the invasion had died. But the battle had been won. Alberta was theirs.

 

4000 Surviving mounties and the 10000 reinforcements set to repairing the fort, turning it into a small fortified mining town. They begin to erect stone walls around the perimeter, using Yukon and Alaskan slave labour. (2 pages)

 

The remaining oil rig is put into intensive work. The brightest minds of the Canadian west are sent to Red Plains to figure out it's operation (1 page) and gain the knowledge via reverse engineering to make more. (6 pages).

 

Back in the heartland of BC, recruitment campaigns are still at an all time high. New members join at fluctuating rates, in order to keep morale up, the official figures of the killed and wounded at Red Plains are kept secret from the public.

Law seems to have deteriorated in BC, in Kamloops and Kelowna drugs and arms trades have risen back up to their former size, with the army off campaigning in the east. The Mounties seek to stop this once more.

 

This winter is tough, roughly 1000 souls in Kamloops die of a food shortage. However it is cleverly rationed. People are weak, but they survive till next spring.

 

The recruited Mounties are outfitted with basic carbine rifles and Muskets, a good portion of them are garrisoned in Red Plains. The newly captured fort city now has a barracks of a good 12000 or so armed Canadians.

Yukon Republic

((ok since you completely disregarded my actions I'm making a catch up post.))

 

As the POC was loaded into the trebuchet, the last of the charges were placed on the gunpowder stores, oil rigs, and in the wells themselves. As the POC was launched, and the fighting ensued, the Yukon commander ordered the charges blown. All the gunpowder stores, and the oil reservoir itself went up in flames, killing everyone in the fort and eradicating it from the face of the earth. The explosion's winds blew the POC further then anticipated by the allied troops, and would probably kill many more.

 

As news of the defeat reaches the Yukon, people take heart at the full extent they made the allied troops bleed. They deaths at the fort had bought the Yukon enough time to muster enough men and material for full scale war, and the army started to form. Winter severely hampered this however, so forts were erected all along the south. Yukon Mountaineers are sent to guard the mountain passes and harass allied troops, as the thousand that were still near the fort hid in their camps, bidding their time.

The Forming of a Government

It was a time of mixed blessing in the True North Strong and Free.

After the long, hard battle in the east, oil had started to slowly trickle into the western province. With the newfound resource, armoured motor vehicles are made for Mountie brass to travel quickly and safely.

In light of the victory in Red Plains, Deputy Commander Sebastien Shen becomes part of a revolution. No longer would British Columbia be a society run by a military with no government.

 

Shen is elected as the Potentate of the True North, along with five council advisors, officers of the Mounties, The nation is renamed.

 

The Salish Northwest is born.

In the newly conquered province of Alberta, Salish citizens attempt to grow wheat farms all along the immediate territory of the city of red plains. Crops grow well initially and feed alot of people, but are suspect to plague, drought, winters and so forth.

3000 New members have been recruited due to the clever propaganda of Shen's government. No one is told of the death and gore of battle. Only the glory and the greater good.

 

Constant Vigil is kept in Red Plains and the Rest of Alberta for the remnants of the northern savages. Regular armed patrols are sent out throughout the forests to keep tabs on their positions. The Mounties were still weakened from the war, but so was their enemy, they were ready.

The Zulu

 

Military

Things had been looking in the Favor of Shaka the past months. The Northern Cape had been successfully overrun by the Impi regiments, leaving the Western cape without supplies and cut off, Fear and panic was often within the final holdout of the unaligned tribes. Shaka knew attacking them would only lessen the number of men he could add to his forces. He hastily wrote up a letter and had it sent to the remains of the tribes.

 

"Your people weep and hunger. Such suffering should not be continued by the selfishness of a few tribe leaders. Surrender and fall under my banner and I will agree to spare your lives."

 

The army held a defensive position around the borders of the Western Cape, waiting for if they would surrender and submit to the Zulu's rule or refuse and die foolishly.

 

Society

 

With all of South Africa almost united into one Shaka began to formulate plans to revolutionize his people into something more then tribal. This although would be a long path for the society of the Zulu to adapt to..

 

As time went on the Zulu began to vastly use the technique of blacksmithing to craft armor, weapons and tools. With this new technique the military would soon be actually armored in iron rather then the traditional cloth to show a more civil look rather then barbaric.

Also the workforce had successfully tipped a drill with diamond materials in order to pierce through the heavy wall of steel that blocked their way into the abandoned military fortress. The regiment hastily gets ready as they begin pulling it back over to the fortresses' location to be used. Who knew what waited in the untouched ruins?

 

In regards to also lacking a supply of wood in order to create rifles. A regiment of 200 Impi is sent by boat from the Eastern coast of South Africa in hopes of hitting land where they could find additional wood to bring back with them.

The Zulu receive the gift of gold from Ethiopia. They are unable to communicate with the travelers due to different languages so they Impi guards give the traders a nod before waving them off.

The African Kingdom

 

The only words being extracted from the mouth of Haile Selassie was "What the ****.."  when he heard the news of his capital being destroyed. As workers break the ice in front of the newly made boat, Selassie send his commander to oversee the re-construction of Addis. The planning was simple, straight lines with stone roads. Small coal  generators in every street to independantly power it. Candle-lanterns lighting the streets. In the centre the newly made heavenly palace. Around the city a massive wall, and around that wall a canal with farming villages. Around the palace there would be the Bazaar. The new Addis Ababa will be a living fortress.

 

With the overstock on stone from Egypt & Ethiopia, a certain style of house is designed. WIth the physics & Chemistry education these homes will be the best residentials so far. With the majestic population reducing from 290,000 to 210,000. The 100,000 workers start using bricks from the masons to build these homes. Expected is that the first 30,000 residents shall reside in these homes in a matter of months ((2 pages))

 

 

With the mistakes made in the past, Selassie wants his farms to be calculated and compact. In small wooden 'Containers' they shall be from now on, and they could fit within the city walls. To let the 30,000 live in these homes, 8 of these massive but compact farms will bade made. ((2 pagess))

 

 

To handle the coal supply and use the old slightly damaged railroad, the Africans would build a small coal plant to power the general necessities. With its compact design they could easily rebuild, but that does not raise the coal/charcoal income..

 

 

With the expectation of a large electricity requirement, the smart Alexsandar came up with an idea to irrigate the urban farms & to power electricity at the same time. The water goes in circles around the city, but ends up in the generators. With the experience in mill construction, the canals would constantly power these mills, safe in city walls. Thus, an academic library & university is made. With several floors and large coloured windows. This would be the centre of education & religion of the city, and proudly stand in sight of all. This will be one of the buildings powered by the plant. ((5 pages))

 

 

The centre of the goverment would be a functual, modern structure like the Ethiopians saw in their geography books. It could easily be fortified, and will be the second building powered on the main grid. The building is quite large, and hopefully will be done before the city. ((4 pages))

 

 

With the working population functional, repairs are made in Cairo for the homes. With the population being passive there, Selassie orders the construction of a massive lighthouse.to make navigation of the ships easy. ((7 pages))

 

 

In Bahrain, ships continue to be prepared & send to Greece. Where the first walls are made for the settlement. The Bahrain land increases with the sand & wood platforming, and the old Sheikh palace is being repaired & altered to make the second floor the replacement of the flooded first one. ((9 pages)).

 

In Scotland the Ethiopian traders return with the warning, leaving instructions on how to make Muskets & Zooming glass.

With the completion of the railroad, almost all of the current Union is connect on an east-west axis. Engineers now commence the building of an actual locomotive ((2 pages))

 

The second wind powered turbine becomes operational, servicing the wealthy district of Gastion. It seems to be a success thus far.

Imperial Honshu Federation

 

 

The colony west of the Panama Strait continued further construction, as basic necessities such as housing is complete. The arrival of several rather rude Cubans was not exactly welcomed with open arms, as hostility is foreseen in the future. Work on several fortresses begin in the colony in order to protect interests within the region. Contact with Cubans are kept to a minimum.

 

The colonization of the Philippine mainland by the Cubans would not stand. It broke every standing policy of the Japanese, as well as breaking the Sphere of Influence Treaty set by Asia months ago. Contact would be made soon enough. [Pm rp needs to be done, I request that no further stuff relating to the colony continue until we've discussed this.]

 

Type 96 and 45 howitzers have been put into production, producing 5 within 5 months after minor issues are fixed. Production of arms and munitions continue as planned over all, with a steady stockpile of shells being amassed. In other news, with access to more petroleum supplies and with a growing stockpile of oil reserves, the warships are commissioned once more into active duty. The first of several test fires with produced shells goes well, targets on an abandoned Philippine island having been obliterated immediately.

 

Word of an advanced civilization within the Tibetan Plateau reaches the Honshu, Thai, and Dragon Empire. No official contact has been made as of yet, however several artillery rounds have been found outside the fortress like mountains, likely the result of test fires. A foreboding feeling floats over the region...

 

Forts continue to be built across the Southeast Asia frontier, with garrisons common in the region. Veterans of the Taiwanese conflict return battle hardened, and training of troops also continues. Training exercises between the newly joined Thai-Burma people and the Honshu bring a sense of security, although the Tibetan threat to the north continues to loom over them all.

The Tibetan people have been almost unaffected by the many maladies of the world after the Last War. Their many intricate bunkers and advanced agriculture have sustained them within the mountains for hundreds of years, a shining star in the dark world. Their past is mostly a forgotten one, with no major documents having been stored away besides a few maps. They field quite a large army for the time period, and the infantry are armed with rifles rivaling Australian rifles. One thing that would soon mark them as a force of fear is the extensive use of mortars and some artillery in defense. Tibet was a nearly impregnable fortress...

The African Kingdom

 

, work continues inside the canals. With the firefight people made massive incidents on the scene. The constructing coal plant collapsed due a pillar misplace and the seeds are dropped in the canal. Delays are expected. However, the housing is going according to plan. With 9000 living in those houses, the first signs of a city arise. With most areas under construction, nothing major

 

As it is winter, the swimming through the cold canal became too much for some older Sefari's. 100 more died. It was a tragedy, and Haile could not understand why a sudden attack was planned on the Ethiopians. The survivors became veterans, and Selassie called an emergency ministry meeting in Alexandria, the new Cairo. The research on better rifles succeeded, and a concept came to existance.

 

 

Being perfect for the bunkers and future fortifications, all sciencetists and teachers are working on the project. Expected is that with the experience of the crafters, this weapon would be done in the matter of months ((6 pages)).
