John Ivory 4546 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Upon entering either the Captain's office of the King's Watch, the taxation office of Abresi, or the King's Keep, one would notice a letter either nailed to a wall or simply resting on a table. --- Dear reader, I, Theobalt Rolnik, regretfully write to you today to explain that I am resigning from my positions of city steward and Captain of the King's Watch. Most recently this day I was molested by Lord Ailred Ruthern and his goons, the rebels and a Dwarf. They stripped me of my rights and instantly grouped upon me, mishandled me and tied me to the news post of the city square. I was only saved just barely by his majesty King Heinrik I and sentenced to manual labor, which I avoided. This is not the only time I was disrupted by a man with high position in Oren, this including the Pope himself. I am finished with the mistreatment of myself and feel like my work is no longer deserving of this great mislead nation. Recently I have noticed more and more of the absolute flaws of the feudal state in which Man resides. A power hungry struggle, setting man against man at times can be found. Feudalism has never worked and if I am correct it barely survived within the Empire itself. I am no longer associating myself with such dreadful policies of Oren and move on to a different lifestyle. I hereby resign from city steward as well as Captain of the King's Watch. I am no rebel so mind not pursuing me. Theobalt was a good lad, but he never quite adapted to the social graces necessary to work with people. Edward rolls his shoulder and hears a crack as his joints limber after having been sat down in his cold wooden chair for so long. He gives himself a slight nod as he peers into the looking glass in front of him. Theobalt shouldn't have verbally assaulted at the Lord Marshall, especially when the Marshal was the former Captain's employer. The show of bravado was ill suited for the situation.
