Why is realism fun again

I find playing in an immersive, realistic fantasy world fun. If I wanted to play just a fun, shallow experience, I would go to a different server. You should keep in mind that fun is not the same for everyone, just because something is fun for you, doesn't mean it will be fun for others.

It's called professions, as a beta tester it isn't that bad.. it will make you have to go to a baker.. like me :D

Because pretending real life online is better than real life.

granted.

Personally it gives me a challenge in LotC. I enjoy difficult games, and these challenges would actually make me RP for food, maybe even beg at some points.

Ice, you are a gravelord. You do not need to eat.

@parading bull: I am deeply sorry that I think food spoiling is not fun. i will respect your wish to role-play food spoiling in your pocket, if you find that fun have fun with your "immersive fantasy" of rotten food.

Would be funny to see a gravelord beg for food if you ask me. In any case, I switched my vote because I suppose having hours as the spoiling time can be quite an inconvenience to log in and have no food whatsoever.

I'm afraid of the spoiling causing the server to lag.

Actually, I found a way to make it very efficient.

Now, to answer everyone else, food takes days to expire, if not a week. The only thing that expires in 8 hours are raw meats.

Bread, originally placed at 1 day and 12 hours? Yeah that was too little, that's why I probably explicitly stated that the times were placeholders?

I'm surprised there is a topic about something still in beta stage, it's not even on the main server, and I even have a your view for it. The intention behind this is to wipe clear the old foods and make room for new foods and keep farmers in business. So yeah it shouldn't affect anyone particularly. Play daily, go to your local baker once in a while and pay them some coin for their hard work.

Bakers produce food that can last two times, if not triple the times that you see, so buy foods from bakers! And great farmers!

This opens so many doors folks, and if you think people are going to be dying lots initially, you start off the game with 10 hunks of bread, and stone tools. Not enough? Easy to add more. I don't even need to have monkbread anymore and can simply give people some bread upon respawning. (not enough bread to encourage repeated death to exploit, lol that'd be just wasting time).

It would reduce the fear of you. I LIKE FEARING THE GRAVELORDS.

Can you just make a new game, then? This isn't going to be minecraft anymore. My support is against this plugin as it stands now. Vanilla has and always will be the best thing for this server.

But **** it! Let's add all these mods with the pretty GUI and special crafting recipes! Yay! It's not something that interests me, and it never will. Hopefully that past comment will change as I know I'm going to be disregarded.

My prime example is what nexus pvp was like. It ruined pvp and made it hardly bearable to fight anyone or anything. Add this and I don't doubt it will be any different.

Yes, I do like the dependence of farmers and bakers. Will food spoil in your inventory when you are offline? And will raw potatoes and wheat spoil as well, like their cooked counterparts?

Food is not updated when not touched.

But the thing is, the food /does/ store the time when it was first concieved/baked/cooked. It will check its creation time when you use it or interact with it, and displays the time after which it will expire, so going offline will naturally not affect the expiration process in any way. Cake though, you should look into. It doesn't have an expiry date. ;)

M8 it wasn't passive aggressive. You respond to my serious response making fun of it even though it was a completely valid point, I will respond the same. I find an immersive experience fun, make fun of me all you want, but you obviously don't realize that fun is different to everyone. If I wanted to play a shallow, yet fun experience, as I said before I would go to a hunger games server or some shiz. A vast, realistic world that can immerse me, now that is fun. I understand your point of view too, obviously you don't understand mine because you blatantly made fun of what I consider fun. I'm going to steal this: "Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it is wrong."

Very well, if that is what you feel provides fun rp, so be it.

Also don't steal B's quotes or I will summon him to rain fire on your house.
