Reminder On Server Policy

Well when a post like this is needed for basic rules, no not even rules just common sense and respect for others. That everyone already knows maybe something bigger need to be done about the community as a whole than just a post as a "reminder". Now that we have this out what about trying to deal with the poor attitude that has driven people away from lotc. ON both the server and forums its hard to find a single topic now without harassment towards one player or group

Yes, but none of this is law.

None of these rules are in fact based off law, we simply gave a suggested guideline of keeping graphic content to the level you'd expect to see in PG-13 rated media. The staff decide the rules for the server based on our community and what kinds of content we want to see prevalent on the server, and what we do not.

Server rules != US law.

It's about time we cleaned up the server. Some don't really understand that we still have young adults whom play here.

Well this is a lot of fuss about nothing. Just don't be too gory lol, that's a pretty easy thing to accomplish. Instead of using someone's organs as puzzle pieces, just cut the person a lot, break their bones and things like that. Not a tough act I'd warrant.

I do really think that this server has a LARGE proportion of its population who are amoral young people, who play not for fun, but as a form of self-worship, in order to acclaim themselves for their achievements in a much easier world to live in than the real one. There is no self-control (let alone a need for self-control, in their minds at least), thus whatever their aims are, they want to take them all the way, so as to not diminish the perceived level of accomplishment they have. Many of this type may not be too innately malevolent (though I'd argue that any amoral person is going to tend toward "bad" things), but those that wish to rebel against authority will do so by breaking societal norms in-character: they will lie, cheat, steal, murder, and be promiscuous, because the consequences of those things in real life are too large to accept (let alone the amount of time it takes to do anything in the real world, as opposed to the near-instant gratification that a time/52 timescale gives). LOTC has become a surrogate real world for the "dark sides" of many people, and when regulation is imposed, those who are rebelling against real-world regulations on their actions will naturally respond negatively. And push the boundaries.

Most of what I see wrong with LOTC stems from these types of players, and to them, I would suggest leaving for a very, very long time. Teaching yourself to do evil (by any standard) things in a fake world has a psychological impact, and will inevitably lead to negative results in real life. For those who spend their constructive energy on LOTC more than they do on real life, I would suggest also that they leave. With such ambition, such willingness to work for hours on end to accomplish things ingame, I don't doubt that the same perseverance exhibited instead in the real world would lead to some great results for you, and those around you.

I play a half Orc executioner, I don't want to nerf him if the other person is ok with it.
