Many in Anthos may not understand the idea of storing your money in a place owned by someone else. This is unsurprising, as many of the denizens of Anthos make their trade by stealing, murder and many other kinds of skulduggery small and large.

However, in these unsafe times, with beast, scourge and drake roaming the lands, one may get peace of mind by storing your hard-earned coin in our highly safe vaults. Also, we reward you for choosing to store your money with us, by providing you a bonus amount of money per week called interest - this is currently set at 5% per Elven week.

We also provide other miscellaneous services, such as loans, as well lockboxes in our secure vault, crafted by a highly talented dwarven locksmith. Read on below for more information on these services.

History & Trust

Trust is an important virtue for a bank to have. It's earnt, not demanded. As such, I, Marianne Garlea, believe it best to tell you a brief history of my family to reassure you that your money is in good hands.

Our Values: Reliability, Astuteness, Patience.

The Garlea family hails from the wilds of Anthos, where they began as an agricultural farming family. They often traded with other families in the region, until they realised that they could subsist entirely on trading and did not need to produce crop. After many years of trial and error, they managed to create a small trading company that specialized in money lending, banking and investment. However, after the fall of the wilds into the hands of various Scourge beings, Liches and other evils, they decided to pack up and move to the reasonably safer mainland.

As the Garleans left the Wilds, it was neither organized or planned, but merely fleeing for their lives. As such, many of the family got scattered over various places as they took different boats and routes. Maria and a couple of close family members arrive on their ship on the eastern coast of Anthos with a few thousand minas in their coffers and a desire to rebuild their lives and flourish. A new beginning, it seems, even if it was not by choice.

Garleans can be described as a family of the arts, as they enjoy performing, composing, carpentry and all other professions that produce works of beauty and practicality. They firmly believe in the right for every person to express themselves in their work and hobbies, and will invest in people who wish to do so.

Banking

Our primary trade is the storage and safekeeping of currency. Anyone who is part of a UAC member state may apply for an account, although criminal records and tags such as Conclavian Varsele and such may affect your ability to open an account - the safety of our clients money is paramount.

The fee for opening an account is 10 minas, and your account will remain open permanently without charge unless you wish to close it.

Accounts come in three types: Savings, Investments and Shareholdings.

Savings
Basic accounts are the bread and butter account. You want to store some money safely, so you come and ask for an account. Basic Accounts get 5% interest per elven week as a flat amount on your invested money - it's not cumulative! For example, if you deposit 100 minas, you get 5 minas every week as a flat rate.

Investments
You have a lot of money, and need to store it. Accounts over 10,000 minas count as Investments if you so desire. Investment accounts do not generate interest, but you earn a share of the total profits of the bank, which will be disclosed in the quarterly profit report of the bank.

Shareholdings
Please contact Marianne Garlea if you wish to purchase a stake of the company and become part of the ownership.

Lockboxes / Vaults

At First Bank of Abresi, we also offer highly secure lockboxes, or larger vaults, for you to store your most valuable belongings in. Lockboxes cost 10 minas per elven week, whereas the larger vaults are 50. ((Single and double chests respectively.))

If you wish to deposit or withdraw from your lockbox or vault, you may come to the bank or send a courier ((forum pm / tell.)) and your items will be transferred with speed.

Loans

Starting out in Anthos can be tough. We've all done it at one point. However, if you're in dire straits or need that extra little bit of money to buy the house of your dreams, that legendary sword or a horse of your own, then you may rely on First Bank of Abresi to make your dream a reality.

Loans must be payed back in full within one Elven Week, although larger amounts may have their deadline discussed. We also do payment installments of a percentage of the total without interest.

Loans have a flat 10% interest rate on the original amount per Elven Week. For example, you borrow 1000 minas. Pay back 1100 within a week and you're set. If you wish to pay in installments, you may agree upon, say, paying 200 per week until you are paid off in full. Installments must be negotiated.

Maria clears up the noticeboard of clutter and adds a note underneath.

"Interest on savings accounts have been added to your balance as of this Elven Week! Thank you all for supporting our company and we hope to see more customers in the near future."

She adds another;

"Remember, you can open accounts, withdraw or deposit through sending me a letter as well as visiting!"

Amalric approaches the gates of Abresi, a large bag held by his side. He lowers the bag once he enters the city as a guard swiftly searches him. With a polite nod Amalric approaches what he recognizes to be his family's banners at the front most shop within the city. Smiling, he drops his bag beside him, peering into the bank for his older sister Maria.

Maria posts a note;

"The security of the bank has been upgraded massively - I can now confidently say that our vault may well just be the safest in Anthos. We still have many vault spaces available for only 10 minas per Elven week!"
