A Wizard's Thoughts

A Wizard’s Thoughts

The Old Wizard mulled over papers, within the cold windswept halls of Hamaasadeen. His thoughts turning over as though groaning. The Wizard was so deep in thought that he did not even feel his fingers, rubbed raw as he scratched his fingernails into the desk, leaving ever deepening grooves behind.

“My purpose is wasted in this Realm”

He remarked to himself as he finally slapped the notes from the table. Watching as torrents of wind pick the pages up and carry them off into the air across the room. But it did not matter to him, for his head still spun, hundreds of questions shouting out in his mind all at once.

Frustrated, and defeated, the Wizard slumped into his chair, rubbing his forehead before looking to the White stave that sat across the room. The Wizard remembered the words given to him upon receiving that staff, words to which haunted him now like a beast, only to mock him with questions.

“To you, Blundermore, you receive the mantel of Sage Maiavel, may you lead the world as guide in times of peace”.

The words rolled over in his mind again and again, pondering the meaning as his mind slipped back and forth between then and now.

“How am I to achieve such a feat? When wars, and bloodshed reign upon the world? When the very people I am suppose to serve despise and enslave one another for sport and conquest? How am I to take the mantle of Sage if I cannot do the name of Maiavel justice? Is my purpose to simply watch? Is my task to serve a useless and unneeded concept in this world of barbarians and murders?

Rubbing his chin the Wizard sighs

“Truly, the deities must take great delight in mocking me such. To task me with such a fate, when all peace loving peoples in the world had died hundreds of years before.”

Getting up, the Wizard slowly shuffles across the creaking floorboards, reaching for the Staff of Peace as he takes it with great care. Looking at the staff head he sees once again the inscriptions of Ancient Anguelic binding his fate to peace.

“Truly, the world, is not yet ready for such a concept again. Truly, the world does not require me at this time.”

Looking back over to the table he once again rests his hand on it, searching through the ramblings of his notes.

“These questions, they mean nothing to me, for I cannot answer them. I fear there is only one that can answer the questions I seek now.”

Looking back up once again at the staff, he murmurs something under his breath before nodding…

“The Original Sages may have departed from this world, but not all returned to the Immortal planes, I must find Maiavel. Only she has the answers that I seek. She is the only one who can help me find the way…”

Looking at the staff with a stern stare, a plan unhatches in his mind, as all the voices and questions seemingly fall silent, as though an answer was heard.

“We are connected through this instrument of Aeriel’s Divine will. I am she and she is me, this shall be my light to guide my way to her. This shall be my key to unlocking the truth…”

Turning away from the table, the Wizard frantically starts to gather his things, taking a full three hours, he gathered every last research book of importance, every relic and magical equipment he had. Gathering them in the main Enchantry he sets them upon the floor. He wished to be as prepared as possible to embark upon this momentous journey in his life. Preparations had been made and even now, those relics and objects of interest which he wished to leave behind were already making their way to the their respective destinations. Any books he left behind were of little importance, little more than history books, history he knew off by heart.

Placing the end of the staff on the floor in the middle of the room, the Wizard held the staff firmly out in front of him, his luggage in a trunk beside him. Looking at the staff head, he spoke with a calm voice:

“Guardian of Peace, hear me, show me to those which fates intertwine with mine. Show me the path I must take to reach my Enlightenment…”

The White Stave seems to shimmer for a moment, before suddenly growing brighter as a great light seems to form a wall before the Wizard. The wall of light seems to spark and spin before him as a portal seemingly opens up. A great power from beyond the known world had answered his call, and before him he saw the wall of light turn into a mirror like surface, shimmering before him, revealing a grand Forest.

“The Forest of Thought”

A voice seemed to echo in his mind, how he knew this, he was unsure, could it be that the thoughts of Maiavel and his own could also be connected in such a way?

A small notion crosses his face as he smiles for a moment.

“Fate indeed does have humor, that a Wizard and a Druid’s fate would be interlinked in such a way…”

The notion however faded quickly as he turned back towards the confines of the tower one last time. Giving a meak smile towards it before willing the trunk through the shimmering portal.

“I will return one day.”

The Wizard nods to himself.

“And when that day comes, I will return, as Sage, to a land ready to accept peace.”

((Sad you see you go, but if you were getting death threats, I in total agree that you leaving prevents them being acted upon. You were a person I looked up to and enjoyed seeing around on the server, it's sad that you're leaving, but you're right. This server is cancer to tell the truth, and it kills and spreads throughout the cells quickly and causes stress and pain all because of the blatant immaturity of people who think their lives have to do with a computer, and do their best to avoid their real problems, leading them to using LOTC not as a rp hub, but as a "I can be a heroic guy who kills ****" game. Many people treat LOTC like it's important, when honestly, it's not really, and sometimes we need to move on or take breaks. Honestly Blundermore I looked up to you a long time, and it's sad to see you leave. Thanks for being a brilliant member of this community that's dying because of their own blatant hate of each other that leads to them venting their frustrations at their real life on others with the excuse "lol u mad" or something like "its a game, lol, not real life".

And to those of you who have blatantly done this? You've got two options, you're likely to never succeed playing away your life and venting on others; nor are you likely to be a good person. Life's hard, but that's what makes life life. If you waste your life on a computer being rude to people, I assure you that you won't be happy, and that you may end up in a bad position for the rest of your life. That is all. You're friendly-cynical Piercing.))

What Mr. Windraker, however, had chosen to deny, was the inevitable fact that many were waiting, striving to bring forth peace through kind actions. Nevertheless, the destiny of Mr. Windraker was an odd one, but those in, if not hiding, then in low numbers, could wait. They surely could.

And the hope - the shimmering light of hope - was to be seen another day. A day were perhaps, The Wizard, would appear.. Hmm.. Lets at least hope, take action every now and then. Aye.

Lets Hope.

((

Edit after reading ooc paragraph(signature):

Oh.. By the way.. Glasses, over time, if not renewed or tended to every now and then, grow dirty and one will have a hard time seeing what lies ahead. Or at the very least have a hard time seeing Far. Observe.

Sometimes. It's better to walk to the store to buy new glasses and perhaps return later. Than continue walking with beat up and non-transparent glasses. You've been a positive influence to many here on the server and an idol of many. Take care in real life Blunder.

Blundermore I always admired you, but I have had first hand experiences with this also. I agree with PiercingDarkness, but its sad to see you go. Darn... You are a gap we will never be able to replace.

Goodgame server, goodgame.

I thank you for your words of sentiment but that is not the purpose of this post.

I was asked a while ago by someone to create an RP post to explain why I left, at the time I was hesitant about doing so, wishing not to return to the server so recently after leaving. However I eventually calmed down and changed my mind over the subject, and thus here is the end result of that.

What I put in my signature was put there in a time when I was in an extremely bad way a few weeks ago. Tired of it all, I did not wish to make a leaving post like others, so instead I explained the reasons of why I left in my signature and simply left it as that.

I've grown old like the fictional character I portray, old before my time maybe. So much has happened in my real life that I do not wish to personally get into that I simply could not handle bearing the stress of two entirely different aspects of life. Rest assured though that this is the right choice to make.

I suppose that is it then. There isn't anything else I really wish to say in fear that I end up writing a full blown leaving post, God forbid. No, enough drama has been made.

Until our next meet.

A hooded figure adorned in blue and white stands underneath the now long corrupted, fallen tower. His face is shrouded in darkness as he takes a glimpse up, but his stature seems to give off an aura of grief and remorse... He looks down, scenes and memories playing from a time long past... The moments looking out over the lake from the tower, the moments of debating with the old wizard. As he stands there the remorse begins to crush him, with words unspoken filling his mind. He begins to make his way away from the tower when he hears something... turning his head he begins to notice lights in the woods that once led to the farmlands of Malinor in ages past. He turns around slowly, and as the song begins to play he sits down in the grass... these same wisps of light for day after day would every night sing their song to the tower. What was once a joyous chorus has now become haunting melody, with memories of what once was... but even still, when the figure left there was a smile peeking out underneath the hood.

((EDIT: Included song! Ignore the video, but listen to it if you will!))

((Second edit: Song gets weird half way through, sorry 'bout dat. It smooths out toward the end.))

((Tis is sad Blundermore, even though we hardly talked in like the past year. You are definitely a friend worth having, a person worth roleplaying with. It is terrible when people are hateful to the point it where it start causing health problems... Loved you like a brother RPly and OOCly.... :) Take care old friend.))

A light sprinkle of rain pours onto the corrupted remains of the tower. A hooded figure, dressed in white and gold stands at the foot of the remains. It to seemed to be female, wielding a well-used staff. The figure opens her hood, showing the face of the High Priestess. Her elaborate leather and gold-gem headband equipped once again. She raises her head up, peering to the sky as she feels the cold rain hitting on her head.

"Seek what your soul desires. The Path of the Light shall guide you."

Her lips curled, as a tear runs down her cheek. To her she thought of him a kind man with a vast memory of knowledge. She respected him and his unique ways.

" I shall be awaiting your return. As well as the others..."

The High Priestess, pulls up her hood. Shielding herself from the rain. As she turns to walk away from the remains, her soft voice still lingering.

"May Aeriel watch over you, brother."

[i'm sorry, but if Blundermore is getting death threats, justice needs to be done swiftly and harshly. No one deserves this, especially a member who has contributed greatly to LOTC since the beginning. Whoever is sitting there behind a computer thinking it's amusing to bully another player into leaving the server, I hope you're happy. You should be ashamed of yourselves, because you are one of the many things that LOTC's become. A cesspool of flaming, trolling asshats who have nothing else better to do than to spit on the fellow player. It pisses me off greatly.

Don't even give the excuse that "It's the internet!" especially since the majority of you failed to realize that there are human beings with feelings behind a computer, using LOTC as a medium to escape their RL problems. Blundermore has a heart problem, and if he or someone else dies due to our server's horrible behavior, we risk getting this server sued.

I can't say I ever disliked you, or had a long enough conversation to form any opinion beyond 'huh' at you, I can't say I ever knew you beyond bickering in Elyisium, but, good luck in life, this is just a game after all. Even if I disagree with the notion someone can get a heart disease from playing a video game, good luck on the outside of this big metal contraption called LOTC.[]

((Real life, the community has changed into what it is today.  Power hungry, lusting for dominance. Ignoring primary lore and pushing to get their way. It's a battle us old timers have to deal with. As for Blundermore, I do hope you enjoy the outside world. And to get better and healthy once more. ))
