I don't think effective decisionmaking is based on how many people agree with you.

 

 

Oren has been known to house a lot of trolls and arses but if you banned him for the attitude you shouldn't have banned him for the allegations.

 

 

Being a former FM I understand the principal behind the ban.  Setting an example to those who don't take things seriously.  But at the same time you should not have banned him for what he was being reported for.  Simply warned him to take this stuff seriously in the future.

 

 

If he didn't do it, you shouldn't have banned him for it.  I can't definitively say for certain what he did or didn't do.  But this thread, right here, should be a medium for you to give real answers.  The staff isn't about banning people on a whim.  Charoodler makes very solid points which you do not address but glide over.

 

 

If he was not there, why was he banned for the accusation?

 

 

 

If it was because of his attitude why was it so severe and why weren't warnings given FIRST?

I'm glad you didn't. Don't let people's rage get to you. You did the right thing, and I for one am very happy to see you doing this. Keep up the good work. The amount of friends a person has to spam statuses shouldn't be a deciding factor on a ban.

Admins and Staff should make an effort to make sure nobody ends up feeling like acting like this is okay proactively rather than people smacking each other retroactively. Having a fun server starts with people being friendly to each other and I don't see a whole lot of friendliness from any side. It's absolutely ridiculous how much tension people have over a minecraft roleplaying server.

 

Maybe what Gaius preached about interpersonal communication or whatever his buzzword of the week is is actually correct. People need to just stop being cruel to each other. Real world has enough of that anyway.

Incredibly relevant too because the only time skype has ever mattered in regards to ban reports is when Orenians (AiiM being the most notable) have been banned.

 

I still urge the staff team to rethink this verdict and realize the repercussions of such disingenuous singling out of a player group. It lead to an incredibly messy Exodus the first time and while I'm confident that the current playerbase can be more mature about it, leaving this clear bias and singling out of Knox isn't going to promote server health or growth. Actually doing said job of game moderation (universally warning or punishing those whom broke raid rules) would be better instead of singling one person out, one that you have admitted multiple times to have clear bias against.

 

While Knox can be a drunk slob he's not actually guilty of the crimes on the ban report and if someone had a problem they should have added it to the ban report or made their own, not pmly you private for no one to defend. You aren't doing your job of game moderation as much as alienating members of the community because of your personal distaste.

Again with the double standards. She specifically said she thinks she made the right decision "because people agreed with her". Yet on the flip side it is "rage" if people try to defend their friends. 

 

This is literally the exact same thing on both sides. Both sides are a circle jerk. I see literally /zero/ reason to create this thread Chik if you aren't going to acknowledge these very real accusations. Did you make it just to read the comments of those who agree with you? When there is unrest in the community it is the staffs job to handle it, not just sweep it under the rug.
