People need to realize that both bandit and victim RP is lacking. Both sides, honestly, are right. A good attitude can get you spared by some players, and other players will whine whenever you legitimately win or otherwise get away. They both happen.

 

I honestly think the whole server could benefit if we all worked on RP'ing /better/.

Actually, people need to stop making sweeping generalisations and deal with the specific players causing problems rather than using bomber planes to take out a wasp nest. You'll stir up return fire from all the people who get caught in the blast and you probably won't even have successfully destroyed it.

Ranty threads like these serve to deepen the server divide, generate animosity between different groups of players, and don't actually solve the problem. The people who care already have changed their RP to your benefit. The people who don't care aren't going to care because you yell at everyone anything like them on the forums. You might even convert some of the people who care into people who don't.

Eh, the forums carry no weight for me IG. It's just, a forum. I'm not going to see you (general 'you) and say "Ew that guy from the forum, better treat him/her differently!"

 

I'm going to point out, since these debates include one sided posts, that outright attacking the OP with snarky and sarcastic, or otherwise hostile posts don't help. ESPECIALLY when I read a passive-aggressive post addressed to someone in a completely different thread. There's a problem somewhere, obviously.

I... Have to say something... That I don't know how to explain...

 

Pretty much I get killed... once... every two months... Seriously... I got killed yesterday, in roleplay, by an orc, and before that, I had not been killed since I attacked necromancers.

 

Last time someone PVP'ed me was... I really... forgot... (real pvp'ing, not fun pvping with friends)

 

Why am I not robbed? I don't remember being attacked by Raiders... for months now... Where the heck are all these bandits and this rp? I don't walk around with armor, but I have a lot of stuff normally with me, and I have 40k minas... so... where are the bandits? Please tell me... I want to see if they are as bad as this...

 

[edit] On the other hand, I have just seen a halfling spanking someone in armor, but no one would be dying in that fight.

Sadly, people most villains don't give a rat's ass about providing RP for everyone. Sad but true .-. I haven't really run across bandits. Just people running around in armor robbing people and PvP defaulting, saying "tough ****" to people who ask if they could RP instead. I'd like this to change, along with VAs coming back and PvP default leaving, but sadly, that's not going to happen, at least not soon.

I've yet to see good bandit RP. I'm sure there's some criminal out there that does a good job at being evil. I just have never run into him or her.

They'd be fine if there were actual RP.

 

If proper RP is actually provided (not 5 lines and then ((PvP Default)) ) and then the person throws a fit, that's different and it's on them.

I'm sorry but this is a huge part of the reason people still get away with this bad rp. I want to stop people doing these things, but i can't without evidence. Give me the evidence in private so i can do my job. If they get away with the bad rp, they win everytime and they won't change.

and the amount of rp differs upon situation usually i try to think of a creative way to rob people like saying they owe taxes or their stuff is stolen property but they automatically call upon meta team 6 and draw their weapons so i am forced to rek their asses in pvp combat : )

If you're fine with losing pixels, then why bother pvping? If it is one on one, there is no real reason to pvp at all, other than taking the other persons items. If we are talking wars or skirmishes, I understand that. There's a line when having so many people would just clog up chat and would just confuse everyone. But one on one or a small group of people? No. And if the reason is "because it's faster and does t take forever" whelp, that's rp. If you can't handle roleplaying on a roleplay server, then perhaps it would be wiser to seek a pvp server

I will say, your view of banditry with the whole tax collector thing is pretty cool and very unique. But still, one of one pvp is just silly. Yes, at times victims can be a bit rude to the pvpers. But it's because we would rather roleplay on our roleplay server, and get tired of dealing with people who don't give a rats ass about providing fun roleplay. If both parties find pvp to be fun, then go ahead. I don't understand it at all, but I won't judge if they are both enjoying it. But people tend to forget the real reason people should play villains is to create fun rp for EVERYONE. Not just themselves.

So no. It's not just the victim. It is majorly the pvp defaulted who doesn't care if the other person wishes to rp it out and gives a bare minimum of a few lines of text. I want villainy to improve, but not if the people who are getting screwed over just take it because Johnny bandit wants the victims staff. Pvpers are the ones that need to change their attitudes "bud"
