"Pagan gods, pagan ways."

-

The heathens were in Oren, now. They needed to spread their ideals and beliefs.

Norrenism, or North Paganism, is a remarkable culture. Its adherents, however, live in isolation because of their beliefs. The Orenians simply won't allow them. It starts, as all religions do, as a legend.

In the beginning, Mother Life created a training ground for her children, Svodin and Frijha. Her brother, Iblees, had turned on her and wanted to end her creations, and create his own. She had to teach them to battle the demons of Iblees, so she created the training ground, Hyacintho Terra. The Blue Planet.

Mother Life, or Mother Nature, if you will, laid out obstacles for her children. She laid out challenges for them to overcome. Mountains, Forests, and Oceans. Then, she laid out training dummies. Animals. Bears, Eagles, and Wolves. She created all of them to prepare her children. However, they simply weren't adequate. Another creation had to be, er, created. Svodin and Frija were overcoming the animals too easily. She needed to make someone smarter. She created us.

She laid out the strong, Orcs, and the noble elves. The honorable dwarves and kharajyrs, and the valiant humans. Then she mixed them, and the sub-races appeared. These proved to be more of a challenge, but over time their curiosity inspired the allmighty mother herself, and they began to love the creations. And better yet, her children, Svodin and Frijha had been trained. They were ready.

Like most, Svodin and Frija had desires. And this desire needed to be filled with the men and women of the land. Mortal men and women, who resembled the gods. Frijha stuck with the elves, and Svodin with the humans. After, a while and many mortals, demigods popped up. Ricken, and Fror, the lesser elf gods took form, and Krefflin and Sork, the lesser human gods. Soon, Mother Life had a vast godly family and many mortal devout worshipers. Culture took form.

The core beliefs in Norrenism revolve around honor and fierceness/determiniation. Men and women are created equal, and all races as well. Slaves are prisoners of war, and all other kinds are looked down upon. For a man to enter Gellehalle, the hall of Svodin, where you feast with the gods and fight the demons of Iblees, one must die honorably. The same goes for women who are trying to enter Frigstad, Frijha's hall.

((This is only explaining their core beliefs, I will post the information about their gods and traditions in another post))

Remarkable similarities are found between Norrenism and Lucienism, yet so are remarkable differences. The Mother also corresponds with the Creator as an omnipotent being that weaves the thread of the future. Both accept the demon-god, Iblees, as a corrupted soul. Theologists also argue that the gods could be the Lucienist Aengulry, however in Norrenism, they have much more power and influence.  They both also accept the theory of the wandering wizard, however Norrens believe he was Svodin in his mortal form, who was killed and then rebirthed.

((Scrolls depicting this religion are sent to various religious and political leaders in Oren. Some Norrens leave them in the capital during the dead of night, for citizens to discover in the morning. A request is sent to the officials of the church to brand this as either a heathen religion, or a religion that is the same as Lucienism, just with different names and traditions. A cultural dissonance.))

Ehrick does not take the time to read the scroll past the word 'pagan'.

He beats his fist on his armored chest. "HERESY!"

Simply viewed as ignorant propaganda, the scroll is torched with a sincere disinterest. Men are sent about the capital to tend to the rest of the 'trash' as well.
