The Teutonic Order Battles Demons

*Hushed conversation can be heard in taverns and public gatherings across the lands of the Fringe. If one were curious enough to ask what was being discussed they would be met with a chilling but at the same time heroic tale of Sariants and Demons . . .

"It all started with just a simple routine mission where a handful of Sariants were keeping up with the local settlements around Hanseti. That Hochmeister fella, Mirtok I think his name was, had just finished up talking to a lady of some keep up in the mountains. They were about to head home when a scout reported seeing armed men hiding in a camp below. The Sariants turned around and indeed, there were men hiding away, peering behind canvas flaps. The men descended the hillside and drew near the camp, and that was when it happened!

The men hiding in full iron armor burst from their hiding with the speed never before seen nor achievable by mortal men as the Black Crosses were about to bear down upon them. Their agility was unmatched as they flew up the steep mountain side in a mere blink of an eye, out of the reach of the Sariants. However, one demon was not so lucky and was slain by the blades of many fierce warriors of light. But he too, in a beaten and bloody state somehow slithered up the mountain side at intense speeds, blood trailing behind it. He was slain but his partner returned, to engage one more time before blasting off again!"

*The conversers in the tavern describe in livid detail of how the Demon flew before the Sariants.

Edric listens to recalling of the tale at the ensuing feast, having not had the pleasure to do battle with the fierce demon. He takes a sip of apple juice before muttering to himself.

"Praise the sky gods... praise the Creator. Thank them for striking down this fierce creature on this day."

Sariant Heidmark peered at the man he was near to ending, approaching him in a slow manner. Upon his enroaching movement the 'man' shot for the stars, and soared into the skies above. Later he would take the situation into his mind once more, only reasonable explanation he could think of pertaining to dark arts and the sort.

"Praise the light, praise the Creator, and all that is holy to slay whatever beasts still wander with these abilities..."

Heidmark would end his silent prayer to himself, continuing to feast with the rest of his brothers; and hope to later ensure that no such being would ever plague the ground, nor sky, a second time.
