[Feedback] Community Fix.

I think I'm going to go ahead and agree with people who are saying that the community has improved from a year or so ago. It honestly has. That's not to say it's perfect or anything, but it's definitely going in the right direction.

That being said, it never hurts to take a moment, step back, and think about how to treat others in a kind and respectful manner.

I think I'll keep my personal opinions to myself. Hyll Sveariket.

LOL why write this? If you plan to keep them to yourself then why tell everyone your keeping them to yourself?

It is the same as those people who say "oooh i have a secret but i can't tell you" or the people who sigh really really really loud and make sad faces, but say they don't want to talk about it, yet they will say something along the lines of "but its really messed up what has happened, but I'm not going to talk about it: *double sigh.

i guess I'm being an ass, back to my mouse hole. just thought i'd point out the only thing that stood out to me out of this entire post. The rest is the same "lets all be friends", **** i remember the bad ol days, when it was drama, flame, drama, rage on a daily basis; at each other, at staff, at oneself. I have to say from a glance at the past and now, the server is definitely moving in the right directions. People will always bicker and on a gaming server where a large majority of the players are "kids" or "teenagers", i'd imagine they will act like kids and teenagers. And there isn't anything wrong with that, just as long as you accept what you dish out being directed back at you, and you try to be as respectful as possible, you should all be fine. We are humans, we get angry, we lash out, no one is perfect. Nor will the community ever be, it can only be perfectly imperfect and on a progressive path, where tomorrow is better than today, which is better than yesterday.

I think if there was one thing that everyone could do to stop all this would be to split ooc from Ic 100%ly and do not let them transfer. I Believe that would solve 98% of all problems of bully on this server.

I know how people say it's just a game why take it seriously? I think to some it's a game but to other's it's something they can't have in their real lives it's a way out of the world that they have to live in each and everyday of their lives and when they come on here they can be that other person that normal guy or girl. That knight in shining Armour that really does get the girl. They can be that Barbarian that goes around slaying everything in sight. I do not think of LOTC as a game. I think of this place as a virtual world where dreams can really be made real and where the hell that is the real world can be left behind.

There is a very fine line between common bickering and being bullied.

Also, this isnt about an individual person. People are taking it that way. It's not. This is actually an issue that needs to be dealt with, so please treat it this way.

Just be nice to people, and help newbies, it's not a tough concept.  ICly be as terrible/great as you want to be, but OOCly treat everyone how you want to be treated.

Problem is that right now, LotC is pretty much a PvP faction server. Can't really say the war which is about to happen, makes me feel excited, like the other wars have. Not a single skirmish goes by without OOC remarks spoken in RP chat, trolling, or the massive bending of rules to escape tricky IC consequences, which just leaves me and many others with a bad taste. It simply creates a hostile environment.

I don't mean to point fingers, but there are many individuals here on LotC, who should not be here in the first place. Those who are only in to PvP, and couldn't care less for RP. I've also a lack of trust in the staff nowadays, as they don't seem to enforce the rules well. Rulebreaking goes unchecked, and I notice the increase day by day, without any intervention from the staff. Staff has to get their **** together, and bring back the ban hammer.

How many goons will it take to like your comment Hobolympics, I am genuinely curious.

I really don't see any of this dramatic bullying on the server at all. Roleplay and common courtesy has been seeping it's way back into the server and I have been enjoying myself much more in the last few months. I just really don't see any of this happening on the server at all which contradicts the apparent "large bullying problem". Maybe I'm just not deep enough in others roleplay, I don't know..

I enjoy PvP because it is quite fun, I enjoy RP because it is quite fun, but they need to be diluted every now and then. War is common now because PvP and military rp is literally the only exciting thing on the server at the moment. In Asulon people had the skill system that kept them occupied and gave them an incentive to mine and woodcut rather than pvping. The raid rules also contribute towards the OOC bitchiness and levels of PvP, because it's a once a day limit, so people say once per day "Why not make the most of it? We can only raid once a day anyway, why shouldn't we?" They're counter intuitive. Make more exciting things to do than pvp such as a skill system and exploration, and that's what they will do.

In regard to the cyberbullying stuff, if you really get offended by what people say on the internet, you need to get off the internet.

Over the past few months the server has been fixing itself and it's a much better place than it used to be. I don't think much of anything needs to be done, just leave it on its current course. RP is great, new players are rolling in, lag is lessening, community is less chaotic, etc. But, like Matt said, the number one rule of the internet is to take everything people say with a grain of salt. If you actually get upset because someone from the internet insulted your heritage or called you fat or whatever, you need to leave because the internet is not a place for you.

Look, the community is hard to fix lol. Its too diverse to be honest. Due to ban reports and drama people are judgmental to each other and can't stand having the same ideas. This is just how it is and people are going to have to deal with it. Just how life is which is why I think this shouldn't be such an important concern. Don't bust your hump over this because you shouldn't.

All people need to do to maintain a positive community (because it IS a positive community at the moment) is remember that the people on the other end of the screen are just that, people.
