What about former Acolytes and Initiates and stuff? Like my character was one at the end of Aegis and I was never able to finish my trials due to a vacation and the world blowing up and stuff. Would those people that still lived ever be sought out and tried again?

Didn't we go over this a while ago Sprinting that this wasn't true? Shoi herself told us that you were never one to begin with, and seeing how she did the recruiting/all recruiting went through her as leader of the Ascended in Aegis your story doesn't really check out at all.

As for Former Acolytes and initiates we've tried to keep track of most of them, we're planning to extend an invitation to those who do return if their character they were initiated on is still around, as RP is RP.

To sprintin - there were a few at the very end that some people wanted to add. these were refused, and unless you went through the initiation where you were killed you were not, infact, ascended

A rescue mission of what? By the time we found out the mansion was gone etc... And you know how the antag is, it's easy for them to take land and corrupt it but it is a ***** to even convince one GM to try and uncorrupt it. Besides trying to uncorrupt large amounts of antag lands would require that we converse with the antags... which was seemingly impossible at the best of times. I detect that there is a bit of OOC aggression in your words as though you're blaming us for the fall of Lenniel, and though ICly that may be what your character thinks I'd ask you keep that aggression IC.

The significance of Leanniel isn't my character's views - if you recall he was the Lich, not sure why he would blame anyone. Nor OOC, I had no hand in making the town, therefore no bond or whatever else. I would be more fond of the woods adjacent to it - which remained unscathed.

The significance was the Ascended presence itself and the location in which their presence was most prominent, which was Leanniel for a rather long time. The Ascended brought in and prolonged conflict with Gravelords by protecting a supposed Scourge cultist from the Gravelords, endangering the town to begin with. Then when a greater threat came, the actual Scourge, they were no where to be found.

It was just a curious situation, to me. They didn't want to let a single girl get taken by necromancers but they were apparently content with seeing the town that hosted them for years keel over and become a slave camp.

It did make leave me OOCly wondering why you as a group were revived, I admit though, considering that seemed like a very ripe opportunity to make your first prominent comeback move - and it never came.

I suppose with that in mind I would ask, what do you as a group of Ascended intend to do in 4.0? How do you intend to come back into the good graces of characters whose ancestors previously killed you and scorned you?

We weren't given much choice in the matter. And as I said, activity of some of us had diminished due to RL circumstances.

It's to my understanding that as long as Aeriel does not perceive a currently present threat to the world's purity (AKA a MASSIVELY corrupt being such as Iblees or Setherien) she does not provide any power to The Ascended, is this off at all? I recall that being what was basically said come Asulon.

Nah jk. I thought I did a good job with being ascended. I remind you, we cant be everywhere saving everyone. Think of us as like batman or super man. We may be powerful but we can only be where we are to help.

I find it odd how some of you return as soon as the Ascended get their powers back. I mean, I'm not implying anything, and I only mean some, but it seems like they like to play the special snowflake. Though this is just an opinion--were all of the people who were inactive for a very long time then came back immediately reinstated as an Ascended?

No. I'm fairly certain that every current member of the Ascended were active before we regained our powers. Furthermore, for many of us it took up to half a RL year to actually gain a shred of their strength back.

It depends...

do you want to sign you soul away to your Queen and Savior Aeriel? :p

*rummages through a chest to get a quill. "Where do I sign?"

Also I thought Aeriel was male.

No, Aeriel is most certainly female.

Hiebe, what?

Anyways, yes that is generally the case, though why we're back hasn't be disclosed to the ascended yet. Remember Aeriel is a larger than life being, godlike in some forms, perhaps she and other deities know something that we do not yet know ourselves. Only time will tell what exactly that is...

wat.

That doesn't answer my question at all :I

I.E. The Undead gone, Iblees distant. Ascended lost their power.

Setherien appears, Ascended regain power.

It would make sense to me with Setherien dead they would once again lose their power.

No present crazy diety's minions for The Ascended to directly combat, no power to be had.

[End In Example]

Basically that's what I understand from what happened with the move to Asulon. As long as some diety or demi-god isn't attacking, no power.

Edit:

Oh, an actual answer, thank you.

My REAL question: Instead of coming up with new protagonists like the Golden Lance, is the server going to stick with the Ascended? Your opinions, unless you have the admin perspective or LM one etc.

I am serious. The only member I can think of who did something like that was going through his re-ascendancy when he took a leave of absence, and later returned. Everyone else was active to some degree, even if they didn't make a big show of it.

Also, I personally hope not. While we do plan to do something about the antag, it is my personal hope we won't get forced into events once more.

With how the ascended were there was no doubt in anyone's head that there is a high level of elitism that comes with the title. I believe mostly because it's something that you have to fit a certain cookie cutter shape to enter and I personally find that a little uneasy, if it was more open I would be happier.

That being said, is there anything being done on the interior of the group that is trying to change the whole elitism of the group?
