Upon the outskirts of San’Orka, a small pit was dug into the pristine sand. Carved from the weak stone beneath and supported by wooden scaffolding, Magra the broodmother (as she is called by her kin) took to raising her children; Five goblins, each red of skin and sharp of tusk. Here the Goblins grew, following in their mother’s task of taming and handling their birds of carrion. Leaving home, the Goblinkin advanced towards San’Orka to begin serving Krug and their Orcish cousins as all Uruk kind have before them. Magra stayed, her youth having fled years before her spawns departure from home. The Magra Goblins remained in the midst of their kin for many years, before finally gathering once more as the Descendant races evacuated the Fringe and took shelter in Thales.

Clan Bestiary

 

Red 'Butcher' Condor

The Red Condor gets its nickname from the bout of carrion it usually consumes, whatever they can find within the desert and scavenge. Its red hue is actually an odd distinct feature of the bird itself, as it’s usually born into a coat of feathers that seem pure and opaquely white. However, the Condor will often fly down to whatever source of red it can find and rub against them to dye itself. Whether it be red clay, rose, or even blood; the beast enjoys to paint itself in an image of crimson.

 

The broodmother Magra was known for upholding around seven of these birds, to which they each would squawk in horridly wretched sounds, “Mama.” They are known to be intelligent but not otherworldly so, able to learn certain phrases and words that they repeat after where they heard them from. Taken from nature, they would use this feature to usually lure prey by imitating the same sounds said prey emits, in hopes to draw them closer as if a mate.

 

Their talons are strong and for good reason, meant to tear flesh from the rotting carcasses of that which has died in the deserts, as well as sometimes tearing at the living should the dead be sparse. Therefore the Magra clan has not only used them for their symbol, but also to stalk those they hunt. Not being the strongest, some rely on hit and run tactics, and these birds assist in those endeavors.

Appearance

Magra Goblins are displayed as Goblins are intended to be; lean, sinewy cousins of the Orcs. They range from Human to Adunian heights, and bear more aquiline features (I.E pointy ears, noses). Magra goblins share the skin tones of their ancestor, Magra. Most display skin tones ranging from a crimson color, to a burnt orange. All Magra Goblins manipulate the growth of their tusks to curve, and create a hook shape, as per tradition. Choosing to display themselves with pride, they often adorn trophies, such as bone necklaces or earrings. The more extreme Goblins will sometimes pierce themselves with bone through the bridge of their nose. When welcoming new Goblins not of Magra's line into the clan, the Goblin applicants are instructed to dirty themselves in paint, blood, red clay, mud- whatever they may find that will give their skin a red appearance.

Outfitting

Magra Goblins have honed their warriors to focus upon the use of axes. When accompanying their cousins into battle, no matter how rare it may be, the Magra warriors may be known as ‘axe throwers’, displaying their lack of proper training in a brutal though inaccurate manner. When not fighting, the Magra goblins do as many Goblins do; tinker. With their heightened intellects, the Goblins take pride in their inventions, and seek to perfect them.

 

The revered Goblins of the brood oft' adorn meticulously crafted armor of bone, constructed by the eldest of the clan, or whomever else may have knowledge of Orcish Bonesmithing.
