gam 386 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Dwarves can use magic. It's just frowned upon unless they're an Irongut of some sort. Did you read half of what is going on here, man? The lore was not changed, to be absolutely correct. It simply didn't exist. According to every dwarf that was around in Aegis, it did. :/
Stag 3234 Share Posted July 28, 2014 This is a thread for dwarves and LMs I find it annoying anyone who is not posts here, it is not their business and chances are they couldn't explain dwarf culture themselves, as for what has been changed the LMs have stick their nose where it doesn't belong, this is our lore we have RPed for 3 years, RP you can't void anymore than those battles we've had with Oren that we've complained about, and I 501warhead is not a dwarf, I've never even seen him besides I the 4.0 build server. Forewarned I am going to be blunt here. I am actually extremely irritated by the tactics you are using here. You need to stop being a child and complaining because there are no "dwarven staff." Staff is staff and they aren't chosen because of their race. They are chosen because of their skillset and ability to carry out the position. Stop acting like the staff is sitting behind some closed door plotting how we can make this server hell for the dwarves. It's just naive and disrespectful. If you think behaving indecently is going to make anyone listen to you I beg you to understand that it won't. On the topic of magic. You will not be able to OOCly enforce this Irongut magic trait but you can ICly. If a non-Irongut uses magic call a witch hunt. Maybe the dwarves see them as heretics using dark magic or some sort of iblees ritual to get their magic. Then burn them or fling them into lava. The high elves don't force all high elves OOCly to be pure. They regulate it through RP. Humans did the same thing about half-elves. I imagine the same thing happened with tiny tiny goblins to an extent.

Eddywilson2 2117 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Just enforce it IC like Humans enforced the oversized human problem. Instead of telling each character they can't be massive/use magic, call them a heretic, and they can either leave it to rest or get cut
susitsu 871 Share Posted July 28, 2014 but what about how uragun used void magic in the lore?
1 1393 Share Posted July 28, 2014 but what about how uragun used void magic in the lore? Uruguan was the father of Dwain, and dwains children can use magic (Ironguts) wouldnt you think his father could aswell? I am curious about how the whole no magic thing actually came into play though.
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted July 28, 2014 I think it's because the Ironguts were directly descendants of the ascended.
1 1393 Share Posted July 28, 2014 I think it's because the Ironguts were directly descendants of the ascended. I do not believe they are descendants of them, but they do have quite alot of ascended in them, although Im really not sure :P

Tethras 278 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Dwain made love to an Aengul (Belka I think). So all descendants of Dwain have Aengul blood. All Dwarves are descended from Yudora and Urguan. Neither are Aenguls. I hope that answers the Irongut question thing.
TEEbrown 348 Share Posted July 28, 2014 I've been around of a long time and can say that dwarves can use magic. My character despises magic, "as most dwarves do," and would never use it lest be ousted by the other clans. Anyway Hiebe was the only Irongut with Ascended blood, so saying all Ironguts can use magic would be false, only ones descended from Hiebe could use it.

I used to be against it honestly, but a few months ago when LM's approached us about it a lot of dwarves embraced it. Either way from what I saw the Dwarven playerbase chose to be able to do magic back then, I don't really see why they want to go back on that. Sky 0 Share Posted July 29, 2014 My alt, whom is a dwarf, has zero Irongut blood and is a hydromancer. OOCly, any dwarf can have magic even with 0% Irongut blood. But who needs Irongut magicks when you can be a super solider of Oren.
