Elad™ 560 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I think you forgot the part where I lead the Harbingers the last two weeks of their existance alongside Kahzo, get your facts straight, from beginning to end we made this agreement and I'm merely trying to enforce it. Being still in the chat myself, I just skimmed through the chatlogs around the end events time, and you weren't anywhere to be seen.
Goldrim 1422 Author Share Posted September 3, 2014 You left before the end events of the Harbingers, and he was allowed to return as a mortal, as others did as well. True, I wasn't there for the last one or two days because I wasn't able to and Firespirit44 fell in for me and Kahzo. Who allowed it first of all? Because it's a big **** you to all who DID kill of their characters in order to make it more of an enjoyable expirience for others.
Jistuma 1996 Share Posted September 3, 2014 No one was told they had to PK their characters, everyone that did, did so because they wanted to. I don't think we really need to discuss this anymore...
Onslaughted 920 Share Posted September 3, 2014 We actually got to choose if we wanted to kill our harbs, but of course they won't have their powerful magic
big narstie 1701 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I believe that characters should be forced perma-killed under certain situations anyway and in my opinion as a bystander to all of this **** and completely neutral in that respect I think this is one of those situations. The antag died so just let it die imo
Lago 2572 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I understand what you mean, grating as hell. "Hey, we changed our mind about being undead ice wraiths trying to enact a genocide on all living things and drank some magic potion to make ourselves standard mortals again, so we're totally functioning members of society! Biscuit?" I can't understand how anyone who isn't a dark creature themselves wouldn't respond to the arrival of a suddenly mortal Harbinger by going for their sword, or, failing that, screaming for the town guard, and still claim to be roleplaying. Seems that's just me though. It takes two to RP and people quite merrily talked to Harbingers like they were a mate down da pub even when they were actively undead ice wraiths trying to enact a genocide on all living things, which means that plenty of people are fine with this sort of thing. And if they're fine with it, power to them. Nothing I can or should do about it apart from stay in character myself and treat suddenly fleshy Harbingers the same way any sane character would treat any other omnicidal spawn of evil. Well, except for one tiny snag. For those quick to jump on Goldrim with cries of "leave them be it doesn't affect you" which let's be honest would in a vacuum be fair enough, in olde Aegis the staff were brutally strict on PKs. Goldrim was on the receiving end of this in Aegis with the Axe of Krug. Same with Anthos, look at Harahan Brae: he was banned over and over for violating a PK. Salamandra had to jump through countless hoops to get around his. So I can understand how some people are up in goddamn arms about the Harbingers being given an out when they were told at the start that you PK afterwards, some unHarbingering in defiance of IC sense (yeah I got my skin back guys! I unImmolated it) just because they had sympathetic staff members.Consistency. Either a willing PK is a PK or it isn't. If you're going to let Harbingers dependent on Setherien for their very being suddenly turn into normal mortals, extend the same to Radahan, Goldrim, and all the others who's PKs are currenty utterly inflexible.
Neri 3590 Share Posted September 3, 2014 When I joined the Antag I was told tha since we were final-week Harbs we would not have to PK. I think thats what the difference is. Also, just because the free Harbingers are, well, free, doesn't mean they become all sappy friendly, they just become their old selves, just... slightly more traumatized. Well, slightly may be an understatement. Anyways why did it take several months for this to come up?
Space 2335 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I believe that characters should be forced perma-killed under certain situations anyway and in my opinion as a bystander to all of this **** and completely neutral in that respect I think this is one of those situations. The antag died so just let it die imo From my understanding the harbringers were just turned to less powerful people, and aren't trying to **** around with Sitherein. Also, their these peoples characturs, not just the 'antag.' Let people RP how they want to RP.
Lago 2572 Share Posted September 3, 2014 The Undead were people's characters too. Also, just because the free Harbingers are, well, free, doesn't mean they become all sappy friendly, Too many were sappy friendly when they were still Harbingers. I hope if we ever do another antagonist that they stay in proper antagonist character.
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted September 3, 2014 When I joined the Antags myself I was told that only the higher ups would be forced to PK if the situation came to that point. Why is it that later on they change their mind? Welcome to LOTC, where people are known to be notoriously fickle.
Goldrim 1422 Author Share Posted September 3, 2014 Lagomorphia made it quite clear, thank you, in the end you just shouldn't really be surprised if some odd familiar characters start popping up again, if staff won't enforce this then there's gonna be some really freaky stuff happening, but personally, I'll solve it in RP by killing said individuals every chance I get, so happy roleplaying boys and girls.
