Petty? We are supposed to fix the community not use some cheap shortcut cause of laziness and lack of will to do anything about it.

 

 

Sometimes shortcuts can be the most effective way of approaching things.

 

Sometimes it isn't that simple for staff to put a leash on every single player, because during times of forum drama, statuses were the easiest and most accessible tool to cause nothing but strife, and new players arriving at the worst of times to see the worst of our playerbase. In times of our occasonal drama is where the LOTC community becomes difficult to control.

 

I remember during every single war, where no matter the outcome, there is always forum drama between the two rival nations, calling each other out with childish remarks, aka "stupid autistic dwarves should die of cancer." or "humans have stupid hackers and bias gms,"  and other flamey statuses that could go on for hours, giving new players a very negative impression of LOTC, and as a result we lose them. Statuses are the first thing they see when they get on the forums.

 

Oh, praise Alan Jesus, we got rid of reputation. Because I'm tired of seeing shitposts, harassment and rude remarks getting 10 upvotes because its being directed at the player they dislike. I'm tired of seeing ban reports and appeals with 50+ upvotes. If you agree with someone, get a pair and ******* say something.

I never said they were rash, I very carefully stated that people will view them as rash. Regardless of how much you can say "for months," there was no announcement about it prior and only the same people were supporting these. The sudden decision to announce you're doing this 'experiment' to the community while at the same time enacting it was rash and as such the over-all decision making process will seem rash to the player-base.

 

Though, as for rep, keep that gone, it was entirely pointless.

now i'm not saying everyone isn't entitled to their opinion, but wouldn't it just be easier and less  stressful just to keep it chill and see how things go like seriously dawg

 

if we have to argue so much about displaying 1 sentence at the front page of the forum then you know we gots issues.

Wasn't calling you out specifically, sorry if it seemed like it. Likewise, I suppose I disagree with your assessment of what does and does not seem rash. I suspect we'd have gotten a similar response, regardless of whether or not we'd given warning. Nonetheless, the feedback is appreciated.

Here's another problem with removing status:  Answering quick questions.  Now ANYTHING that needs to be fixed, whether its connection problems, issues with texture packs, technical details of any sort, people asking forgiveness after d/cing in rp, have to be done with a post.
