A middle aged dwarf, sat in the darkness of his solar. Shadows flickered off the walls, slowly rotating around the room as his candle slowly melted down into a puddle of hot wax. Various scrolls and tomes were strewn across his desk, as he tore through them, delving deeper into the ancient records of the Dwarves of yore.

His research notes were piled high on his desk, as he scanned through the final parchment resting on his pile of documents. As he browsed over the scroll, the last lights of hope were dwindling in the depths of his mind, and he came across it. The final piece of information he needed to make his theory credible.

Smiling happily, he hastily gathered all his work in his arms, and put them into a drawer, as he ran to publish his works in a way so the public may understand.

Once his notice was complete, he payed a young lad to post his findings in a place viewable to all. They read,

“To my fellow citizens of Urguan, I have completed a theory that truly explains the Ironborn, and their current place within our kingdom. It starts long ago.

“It is my belief, that the lad known as Darenth, who has been reluctant to share his ancestry thus far, is indeed an Ironborn. According to my texts, he has all the features of our former tyrants. Those features being ; The grey skin of a cave dwarf, as the Ironborn are, and the blue eyes, and black hair that make them out for who they are. But my theory does not end with Darenth.

“It continues to the clan known as Irongrinder. I found it peculiar that the Irongrinders took such a sudden liking to this Darenth lad, but at first I thought nothing of it. However, as I continued my research, I discovered that it is not merely coincidence. The Irongrinders, are actually part Ironborn. This is the reason for their refusal thus far to reveal their heritage.

“It is my belief that the Irongrinders are descendant from a cave dwarf father, belonging to clan Ironborn, and an unfortunate mountain dwarf mother, belonging to an unknown Clan. I feel that the Irongrinders have remained loyal to their Ironborn heritage, even to this day.

“They wish to remain loyal to their pure blood cousins, and help them reclaim the kingdom they lost in the days before our time.

“To further reinforce my theory, look at the passing of Zahrer Irongrinder. I find it troubling that Darenth was the lad to collect his inheritance, and claim Zahrer’s wealth, rather than one of his closer relatives. It seems all the more proof to me that the Ironborn are returning to the kingdom, and that the Irongrinders are aiding them in their quest.

“Now, I know not for sure what the Ironborn’s true reasons are for returning to our nation. Perhaps it is a peaceful mission, to make good on wrongs done years ago. But, what I do know is Darenth is a pure blooded Ironborn, and the Irongrinders are aiding him in someway. So dwell on this my friends, and dig deeper into the mystery that I have revealed.”

Vorstag paces in to the meeting, a disgruntled and shocked look plaguing his face.

He swipes all of the pens and mugs off of the table, making room for a scroll.

He breaks the seal and unrolls it on the table.

Kardel would easily note that he has AMBER eyes typical of a NON-IRONBORN cave dwarf, WHITE hair typical of somebody old, and PALE skin caused by the consistent attempts at the Philosopher's Stone which bleached him.
