To sit on a rocking chair with two young children in your arms is a test for any mother. To have the expectations of a fallen empire, the heir to a dynasty and a future king in one hand a to be maiden daughter to a noble house in the other may be a test harder than one would imagine.

Yet to know that the blood within these children you bear holds resent for each other, and launches assault on assault on one another as the fury intensifies between her father and her husband.. a stress like that would be shattering.

As our young Arabella stood in her corner of her room, looking over the two twins in their cot she knew that wherever she stood within these reinforced walls, no amount of fortifications would protect her children, lest her greater family on both sides had a say. She twiddled with her sons sprouting hair as she pursed her lips and slowly shook her head.

What childhood could these two receive besieged on all sides, with their mother lacking a single ally? Her public appearances had been spent barred at the far side of cold rooms unable to speak to anyone, isolated from the family she grew up with from the insurrection that had ensued soon after her wedding to her husband. Would her daughter receive a similar fate, to be a trapped child unable to speak or request, merely told? Was this fitting for a woman of her noble blood?

It spent her a good few weeks to ponder that question. She would have only one chance to spell the fate of her entire children’s life, before they could remember a betrayal she had conceived to commit to.

On this night however, she had been adamant that she had come to a fair conclusion. She attended the cot of her children as they stirred in the night and merely plucked them up. She had already dressed in a long cloak, a broach gifted by a friend long forgotten She slipped out of the servants exit of the castle and down to the river bank, hailing a passing boat and offering the little coin she could for its captain to whisk her away to a distant land, so that she may escape the prison she had vowed in her wedding to live in forever in name of her noble blood.

The ferryman, the first, had rejected her. The second however would come to be a Gondola, a small blond haired elf with a thick cockney accent. “I’ll take you anywhere love, ‘ah love usin’ ma’ Gondola.” It was indeed the gondola lad from the New Malinor harbour.

And so they set off, the estranged elven boy would take her far and wide before admitting he was completely lost. She had stepped off at a port near the southern lands of great Athera, near a small portside hold. Unsure of her location she pressed into the opposite direction, striding with her children into the thick forests that enveloped the mountainsides before her. She eventually came across a cave entrance, warm air pouring from it as the crystals within shone with outstanding glamour.

Pressing on through into the cavern she found herself facing a shrine, enveloped all around by branches, overgrown yet preserved beautifully by the nature around it. She saw no fitting answer but to kneel, praying to any god she could that her children would find safety from the horrible world she had let them be born into as she clutched them as close as she could.

A snap behind her. A pair of stout men watched as she beseeched the aid of anyone who would listen in the room void of any sentient contact. She would come to understand from this pair that she stood in no ordinary cave but the shrine to a god that would provide her children shelter and her family protection, Annabella.

And so they hid her, without a single soul to know other than the pair she would be hidden, certain Rovin’s made aware of her status, and soon to be collected. Arabella had escaped with the two twin heirs to the Carrion Dynasty, the first son of Aleksandr Carrion and her noble daughter.

"Oof. I told him not to trust her. Maybe for once he will listen to me. At least they weren't the heirs."

Aleksandr yawns, his face turning into a frown. "Then who are these kids in my cot?"

Wesley sits at the dining table, eating a fat and juicy steak, as he'd grip the cutlery tightly, as he'd drift his mind to the news of the kidnapping. He'd chuckle faintly, cutting a fine piece of the meat and bringing it up to his lips, before sticking the bit into his mouth, gulping quietly as he'd place the cutlery down, a faint smirk forming on his lips before mumbling to himself "Not as dim-witted as I thought she was..." he straightens his lips, continuing to eat his steak.

The shrilling of a sword being sharpened roars throughout Arcmouth's empty field. Marvin sits on a rock, growling. "She dies."
