His parents always seemed to favor Christian, and Christian alays seemed better at everything than Nicholas. After a time of being ignored, he decided to leave his parents with his brother, only looking for a way to escape. His brother bought a small town in Athera, and Nicholas helped him build it, hating his brother at ever turn. After a time, Nicholas had had enough of his second hand treatment. He murdered his brother, leaving the town to find a family he could be a part of. Nicholas found the Adherents of Immortui, and joined their ranks as a Weaver, or student of Necromancy. His love, Mizmah, also joined as a cultist, so they could be with each other. After a time, Nicholas snuck away to make love with Mizmah in the swamp, away from Embermoor. The Gravelords discovered this, and murdered Mizmah. Nicholas would never see Mizmah again, and focused all his time on his studies. Mizmahs death had, however, corrupted his fragile psyche, driving him to the point of insanity. He keeps himself sane through sheer willpower, and could slip away at any time.
