Finnadian 25 Share Posted December 9, 2014 So I was wondering, what kinds of drugs exist in the LotC world. I know about cactus green being 'weed', but what others are their? Do we have real-world drugs? Maybe we need new ones?

oblivionsbane 714 Share Posted December 9, 2014 Quartz dust, ilikefooddude is one of the ones who helped come up with it. I can't remember if it is more similar to meth or cocaine regrettably. There are also drugs derived from quartz dust that I can't remember the name to, such as whatever it's called when you mix it with cactus green. Also, sugar in and of itself is a drug to Kharajyr. L0rdLawyer 2272 Share Posted December 9, 2014 There are a few different drugs made in the labs of Dunrid Grandaxe. They are all distributed on the black market (you can get it without any rp basically) and it just gives you a minor headache and makes you feel like your on cocaine and pot at the same time. Another just acts as weed but is a candle basically.

Ventusyr 233 Share Posted December 9, 2014 I play a character who used to cook his own drugs from every hallucinogenic herb and substance he could find. He came up with this thing called 'dreki', which was sort of like a blend between heroin and cocaine in terms of effects. I'd suggest just looking for alchemy herb lore and checking out the effects, theres a good amount that are intoxicants.

Ilikefooddude 430 Share Posted December 9, 2014 Mmhm, we actually have quite a lot of drugs, though most are unknown to the main playerbase. There are things like... Night Sap- A golden sap which drives the user into a deep sleep filled with pleasant dreams, though wakes them up harshly with aches, pains and headaches. Quatrz Dust- An extremely addictive substance created through Alchemy by the dwarf Gauldrim which causes the user to have a permeating sense of happiness. Cactus Green- Pretty much weed. Cataris- A drug which (apparently, have only seen it used once) Gives the user an extroverted and confident personality until it wears off, giving them horrible mental and physical withdrawals. Zawabate- A herb which causes powerful, reality-bending hallucinations when prepared right. Drilltongue- The nectar of which is similar to Zawabate, causing strange auditory and visual hallucinations. Also makes good tea. Dreki- When consumed causes hallucinations for three hours before the user falls unconscious. They'll wake up with periodic migraines, light blindness, constant hunger, fatigue, uncontrollable shaking, and a strong desire for sugar.Sugar- For Kha' and Elves. Causes erratic behavior and strong addiction among even the most controlled individuals of the races. Pipeweed- Used as a smoking herb, much like tobacco, to calm the nerves. Usually by halflings. Reykja- Light hallucinations, synaesthesia, poor depth perception. Causes intense interest on mundane objects, followed by extreme fatigue, hunger, and a dryness in the mouth that lasts for around half a day. Sprunga- Induces a euphoric sensation that's highly addictive, coupled with an intense feeling of lightness. Causes poor depth perception, heightened sensitivity, dryness of mouth, jitters, numbness of fingers/toes. Shaman's Vitals- A strange mixture that Shamans use to let them drift easier into the spirit realm. Contents are guarded carefully. There's probably more, but I can't recall them at the moment. Note that this is just a quick pass-through of what I can remember, if you actually want any in detail I can explain more later. There are also drugs derived from quartz dust that I can't remember the name to, such as whatever it's called when you mix it with cactus green. Back in Thurak's drug dealing days he created a substance with a few goblins called Tode. It was a mixture between cactus green and Quartz dust, and a whole dose was fatal to most races save for Dwarves and Uruks. It didn't sell too well, on account of the niche community it was marketed to.

Blundermore 2741 Share Posted December 9, 2014 Sugar only works on Elves from what I recall, this is something that has been a thing since Aegis. Cactus Green is a dye that when smoked causes hallucinogenic effects. That's all I know for certain, the rest is more conjecture such as redstone or glowstone or quartz dust. Those ones are less actively used as "drugs" in RP. Oh and when I mean sugar works on Elves I mean they cannot ingest it without getting a sort of "high" from it. Ever wonder why Elves like baking so much? I actually wrote a small post on the subject as to the origin of the Elven Sweet tooth here: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/99159-the-sweet-tooth-of-elves/ if you're interested.
