bickando 3967 Share Posted January 2, 2015 The Dominion of Martse "Baron de Roy, do you know how a family of Silvan Fâe came into power over a nation full of Humans?" "No, my liege." Andrana was standing in front of an incredibly wide and well polished tree stump made into a table, upon which stood a map of the Dominion and around which stood its leadership. They had been discussing the previous year's raid and how to prevent another one; without the slavery and serfdom of the nations to its north, it had only its Human-based manpower to continue. Most agreed their best bet was just to stay out of politics; some argued for war against neighboring nations. Holding her hand up for silence, she continues talking to the baron she singled out. "We promised everybody outside of our small family's forest unity and protection. We built a castle so we wouldn't be as foreign and we went against our culture to open deals with the Humans around us. We're surrounded by giant nations, de Roy. Increase expansion and defenses." With the Campestribus ultimatum, the Dominion's barons are directed North and West instead. With large armies, it is expected that the Dominion will be able to expand pretty far into the so far found to be uncivilized lands. The trade agreement is accepted with the Iron Dominion, and the Kingdom of Campestribus' nonaggression pact is also accepted, but the alliance against sea raiders is not. The Martse levies continue to be raised in preparation for the next season's raids, the villages and cities of Martse beginning to change into military townships. The homeless and poor are the most drafted into levies, and as Martse expands, retinues too are expanded. The Martse shield-ships begin production, patrolling the coast of Martse to warn against further raids. The Horde of Lur is asked for a nonaggression treaty, promising to help supply the horde with food and not get in its way. Martse's military readiness is currently High and Alert; levies are mostly raised, and patrols are very regular.
AndrewTech 3331 Share Posted January 2, 2015 ~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ King Kaecillius curled his lip, listening to his military advisors ramble on about the situation along the northern border. This would not do. This would not do one bit. But Kaecillius had no need to panic; raiders had assaulted Campestribus in the past. The kingdom had never faltered before under his predicessors, and he didn't intend to let it fall into disrepute under his rule. The levies of Dianium, Faesullae, Legentium, and Abalava would be rallied and summoned to defend their homelands, a total of 6,500 footmen in all. They would begin to dig in, and set up defensive positions in preparation for the impending raids from the Horde of Lur. In addition to the summoning of the county levies, 3,000 Mounted Leigionaries from the elite Royal Knights Legion would be recalled from the Southwestern border, lead by Knight-Commander Sir Charles Vertigrey, to assist the northern levies against the orcish raids. The military awareness status of the Kingdom Campestribus is now set to High; levymen in all counties are ready to be summoned at a moment's notice, and the legions of the Royal Army are mobilized in the County of Lauriacum. Recruitment posters would be issued, calling for nationalist Campestrians to join the Royal Army. (1-2 turn). The Kingdom of Campestribus's military is made up of four professional legions: The Royal Knights, and the three main legions of the Royal Army. The Royal Knights number 5,000 in all, and each legion numbers 1,000; they utilize both heavy infantry and battlemages in combat. The Royal Army is stationed in several military forts surrounding the capital city of Lauriacum. *-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-* In other business... Kaecillius was pleased to hear of the decision by Andrana, leader of the Dominion of Martse, and is indifferent to their refusal to partake in an anti-sea raider alliance. After all, it was their loss, not his nor his people's. The Royal Parliament has also approved the funding of an expedition into the central woodlands of Ruma to search for and slaughter the beast that the Daidrec leader had warned of, though this expedition has been put on hold due to the impending orcish raids in the north. The Oracle of Defensor has also paid a visit to King Kaecillius the IV; he prophesies that Defensor will give him a message for him to deliver to his people soon... ShadowoKing 86 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Fae of Tamenth Last year they called upon the gods for them to arisen by the power of the priest's necromancy, the results was not what Fae of Tamenth expected. A skeleton arisen from the ground surrounded with green aura, it climbed out of the stone signil to suprised to see many Silvan Fae around it. It stood up from it's grave to look at it's skeleton hands shaken in shock. It looked around to find the priests kneeling to the ground with heads low to the floor. Speaker Rhaegos approached it for identity. which it replied it was Setherus. After a year Setherus has became the new leader of Tamenth, it was explained the power of necromacy brought the self-ware spirit of Setherus to a skeleton body but it is limited to stay with the main caster Speaker Rhaegos if he wishes to stay alive. Setherus was told of the situations happening and demanded a shift change of life to Tamenth. A expandison of Tamenth up the river towards The Iron Dominion, as well as complete surround the lake by producing villages and farms. Caravans of supplies and small amount of troops supported for Silvan Fae who wish to start up their own villages. (2 turns) Setherus was reforming the broken Tamenth to have priests to fight along side the troops as necromancers and the new rookies as priests to heal the wounded. He noticed the Fae of Tamenth as been mislead by Speaker Rhaegos greatly but he needed him remain as Speaker for time being. The priest order and army format as changed: 80 Necromancers, 50 priests and ongoing 10,000 troops trained in bow and sword. (1 turn remaining) They were ordered to make unemployed into troops adding extra 5,000 to be trained. Military commander Deventh and his 25 hunters are still hunting south for Daidrec's big creature they wish for them to hunt, they'll return roughly year if they find nothing. (1 turn) Dipolmacy Speaker Rhaegos spoke to the messagers of Horde of Lur for a non-aggressive pact for each nation, Fae of Tamenth will supply food and not interfer with their business. Kardel 1054 Share Posted January 3, 2015 The Iron Dominion The Supreme Overlord-Chancellor of the Iron Dominion looked down on the envoys from his gargantuan crystal throne; a wall of precious gem that had been carved to depict the most important scenes from the Codex of Seven, the Bible of the Iron Drudmur. The Chancellor himself was not pleased. Traditionally, Drudmur leaders had trusted eachother and met face to face, but these foreign nations all sent envoys, and insult to the Chancellor and his Practices. He looked at the Dominion of Martse envoy, curling his lips into a smile, attempting to look friendly, but his old rugged features simply made his dark figure scarier. He boomed out in a commanding voice, which rang from column to column in his throne room under the mountain. "To the Martse, Trade will begin immediately, and at heavy pace. My merchants have been waiting for my word for days." The old ruler turned to the nearest Low Fae messenger, a boy in his late teens that had been dressed wholly in tight green, and had had his cheek tattooed with red ink, marking him a royal slave "You. Go tell the port authority in VenDol'Mara that the trading routes are open. Tell my scribe to fashion you a letter." The youth bowed as he had never before, seemingly in euphoria because he was asked to complete this task, and backed out of the room crawling in all fours (as was the tradition for Low Fae when in the presence of a higher official). "To the Kingdom of Maren and the Confederation of Gal Varak. I ask you for trade and you both want defensive alliances. This. . .is a dirty TRICK" The Chancellor pounds the arm of his chair "I wan't both of you and can only have one. Which shall I have, hmm?" The Chancellor rises from his seat, as all the other nobles and men of gentry bow to the floor, the slaves laying flat on their stomachs below the nobles. The envoys themselves are forced to bow down by the Overlord's iron-melting gaze. "Therefore, I offer a counter-offer. To the Confederation of Gal Varak, my kin. You know. . .my great aunt was of the Northen Drudmur. I am related to your folk by lineage as well as by flesh. I gladly commence trade with you, but a military pact is too much to ask for. It will plunge me into sudden war with an enemy that might be right at my doorstep as we speak. We will speak at a separate hearing." "To the Kingdom of Maren, I am glad we come to like terms on trade but your military pact is too much. An honest relationship does not extend from a string into a rope in a matter of days! A rope needs many long strands of string to be bound together into a well-lasting bond. Making rope from a single string would result in something that a butter-knife could split into many pieces, without even needing to cut! We will discuss more intimately when you offer me better reason to support you AGAINST my kin! Dismissed, the both of you." As the envoys left, the Chancellor immediately called for his War Strategists and Foreign Policy Ministers. The night would be a long one, as the Dominion's stance on the current wars surrounding them would drastically shift. _________________________________________________________________________ And so they spoke. . . _________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile, in the newly acquired lands of the Dominion, the long forgotten Capital of the Drudmur Republic hears the sound of Iron once again. The braziers on the front gates flicker to life as 5000 Drudmur Steelbreakers enter the city with 20,000 Drudmur Colonists following them. Over the Countryside, 60,000 Drudmur Men and Women colonize the villages along with 30,000 Low Fae Labourers that are sent into old Rupublic Mines and Quarries to performed heavy work. Some towns and hamlets are also recovered and colonized by the country side colonists. The Lands of the Republic have been retaken into the Iron Dominion. There is little existence, the native peasants living in the fields welcoming the rule of a Drudmur Empire again. The Low Fae overlords left in these parts are swiftly crushed by their own kin. Land Aims of the Dominion: The Grey striped white is Land that is aimed towards expanding. -0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0- The Iron Dominion has Expanded. Industry: 10 Large Farms are completed. More food is being pumped into the Iron Dominion. Specifically, this food is being sent to the War Camps to help train a number of new soldiers. Trade Agreements are made with the Dominion of Martse, the Kingdom of Maren, the Confederation of Gal Varak, and the Fae of Tameth. (30) Large Farms are put in construction in the newly acquired Dominion Lands. (2 turns) (5) Lumber Camps are to be immediately erected to take advantage of the overgrown forests of the new land (1 turn). All (9)Hamlets and (3)Towns are to be Colonized by Drudmur and Low Fae labourers and put into full action (1 turn). All (4) Mines and (2) Quarries are to be manned by Low Fae Laborers and put into full production (1 turn). Dol'Agran is to be renovated and manned fully as the third City of the Kingdom (1 turn). (12) Fishing Villages as well as (3) Ports are to be erected along the newly acquired maritime territories (2 turns). War: The construction of 2 Frigates and 4 Steel Class Battleships is complete. They are placed in the large lake forming the First Iron Maritime Brigade. Petty raiding ships and glorified canoes would stand no chance against the 4 Triple Masted, 120 Oared Galleys of the Dominion. Even fewer ships could tussle with the 2, 300 Oar, 6 Masted Frigates. 10 Steel clash Battleships and 4 Frigates are to be constructed using the newly harnessed resources of the expanded into lands. Along with the 5000 Drudmur Steelbreakers and 12000 Low Fae Warriors (1 turn), 5000 more Drudmur Steelbreakers and 100 Armored Cave Trolls are to be trained . The Navy of the Dominion moves, patrolling the riverbank. Along with 20 Petty Raiding Ships, the 4 Battle-Ships are dispatched to keep the local fishing folk and expanding Silvan Fae in check. A warning is issued to the Fae of Tameth to tread lightly near Dominion lands. They are reminded that the Iron Dominion will no stand for invasion of land Expansion: The Dominion succesfully expands into the scouted mountains north of it, meeting borders with the Kingdom of Maren. It garrisons soldiers in the discovered city of the Old Republic and begins colonizing the villages nearby. The Dominion aims are west and east. It aims to expand towards the High Fae Union and the Fae of Tameth. It would forewarn the two factions that it does not intend to invade, but simply wants the riverside land. Being closer, it would mobilize colonists and army-men quickly to capture these lands. Diplomacy: Trade commences with the Confederation of Gal Varak, the Kingdom of Maren, and the Dominion of Martse. The Trade Agreement is accepted with the Fae of Tameth. A royal envoy is sent to the Confederation of Gal Varak to discuss terms. A royal envoy is sent to the High Fae Union to secure a Nonagression Pact and a Trade Agreement. A royal envoy is sent to the Kingdom of Maren to Discuss possible peace with the Confederation of Gal Varak. Missing Destiny is contacted to see if there is any people living there. A simple envoy is sent, guarded. The Trade Agreement is accepted with the Kingdom of Campestribus The Lur Horde Envoy is accepted into Dol'Treum to a feats where the Chancellor himself is present. They all sit on great soft pillows on the floor stuffed with swan feathers, and dine on Venison, Beef, and a giant assortment of shellfish. Honeyed Mead and Dark Ale are given to the Orcs. The prospect of an alliance is welcome, but first the Dominion requests a Non-Aggression Pact and a Trade Agreement as well as Leader-to-Leader Council. They envoy is sent back with a guard of 100 Diamondbreakers and two chests full of silver and gold as a sign of goodwill.
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted January 3, 2015 That Orcish Tribe / The Horde of Lur short post Corpses will not be delivered to the Fae of Tamanth, and frankly Rap'Lur finds that a bit weird. The Horde will accept a non-aggression pact with the Dominion of Martse. The Horde's forces of various trolls, desert trolls, camels, horses, various dragoon-like raiding infantry, shamans, and bear cavalry all move downwards on a bloody campaign straight through Campestribus. Tactics will be employed battle by battle, however the above is essentially the strategy. The aforementioned doctrine experiences it's first large-scale test in battle, however it is applied only as needed to defeat the enemy.

Lev had been a knight and was renound around the Kingdom for his slaying of dragons. He had donned the dragon armor at a young age and became known as The Dragon Knight. The Dragon King now sat upon the throne of his father and he was not content with sitting on the throne idly while his legions toiled in a dwarven ambush. =+= Military Actions The legion's numbers had been raised, the standing army now hitting 12,000 soldiers. As the Dragon Legion is ambushed by a much larger force of dwarves, an even larger army of 3,000 marches to its aid, but with battering rams and two catapults. hellfiazz 879 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Porandor Latafrumri Led by the Nalt Frum'Burim, or High Shaman, Buubztik'Lur, the Porandor Latafrumri, the Empire Under the Spirits, had little sympathy for most outsiders, with their false gods and idols, their strange tongues and differently coloured skins. They did not venerate the true divine overlords, the Spirits, and so no mercy was to be afforded to them when the time came, and no regard for their suffering and loss was to be held. Their lives and livelihoods were insignificant to the Porandor, for they were insignificant to the Spirits. --- Expansion down the rivers is ordered, so that the Porandor's power could grow without potentially inviting anger from the Horde of Lur, someone they could seek to ally with. Scouts, warriors and nomads are sent south to claim, settle and utilise lands there. Any tribes there are offered the chance to join the Porandor, or the threat of force. Mines and lumber mills also begin construction to support the expansion effort. --- A shaman is sent to the Horde of Lur to show accedence to their request for an alliance. A message is sent from High Shaman Buubztik'Lur as well: "Brothers of the Sands, we hope that our alliance will be strong like steel in the face of the heathens to the west, and that our dominion will spread like wildfire across their cursed lands. The Porandor Latafrumri will support you in all things, and expects the same from you and yours, Rap'Lur." --- In order to increase Porandori power, threat, and standing, the military begins recruiting. A quota of 6,000 warriors, 1,500 Lur Wolf cavalry, and 100 Shamans is set. Additionally, several dozen war galleys small enough to traverse the desert rivers begin construction. AndrewTech 3331 Share Posted January 4, 2015 ~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ King Kaecillius and his generals were now fully mobilized, and ready to wage the war against the Orcs. But as they sat in Lauriacum, looking over the crisis table, Sir Regulus Nimrod burst into the room. "SIRE!" He cried, panting. Kaecillius turned to him, as did several of his generals and advisors."The orcish army... it's bigger than we anticipated... we're outnumbered almost TWO TO ONE! Heavy losses... 500 knights dead, 2,000 levy men... we can't hold them! We're valiantly trying, but we just can't hold them for much longer!" Kaecillius ordered a maid to fetch the knight a glass of chilled water, and ordered for his horse to be watered and stabled as well. He looked towards his advisors, waiting for options. 6,000 Legionaries, made up of 900 heavy infantry and 100 battlemages each, had been rallied over the past few months. There were three previously existing legions in existence before the raids had begun. 2,000 knights were also still stationed in both Lauriacum and the Southwestern frontier. That added up to 11,000 professional troops that could be thrown into the battle against the Orcs, in addition to the 10,000 or so militia levy men in the south. But these levy men would not leave their families in their own counties to protect strangers in others... On one hand, they could continue waging the war as they were now, summon and risk losing everything. They had the advantage of knowing the terrain, and being accustomed to combat in the woods and plains of Campestribus. But what good were knights, legionaries, levy men, and battlemages against elephants and war bears and camels, being ridden by some of the most fiercest fighters in Ruma? The King decided that the ensuing bloodbath would ruin the nation more than simply allowing the Orcs to continue sacking small towns and hamlets. Therefore, Kaecillius sent out a decree with the majority of the lords of Parliament's support to follow an ancient anti-raiding tactic: All Campestrian forces were to focus on protecting the major cities, the county capitals. They were strongholds, built upon various hills in the Southern planes, and would be very hard indeed for the Orcs to assault with neither siege equipment nor the intent of gaining territory that far south. Campestribans were hasty builders and diligent workers; luckily for the kingdom, the crops of the various villages around Campestribus had just been harvested and had, for the most part, been sold to the major holdings for marketing by the farmers, so they could survive the Winter behind the fortified cities if need be. Raids had come and gone before, and never had this strategy failed the Campestrians in the past. And so, the Campestrian peasants and commoners who's villages, towns, and hamlets that have not been sacked in the south (And the north, though few villages are left untouched by the Orcish raids in the counties above Lauriacum) quickly gathered all the valuables that they could carry and fled to their county capitals. Legions are divided evenly to support each county's levy in the defense of their county capitals. The Royal Knights are recalled to defend the capital city of Lauriacum. Campestrians everywhere prepare to ride out the storm in their holdings, hopefully preventing further sacking, loss of life, and enslavement. The doors of each are barricaded, the drawbridges of each citadel raised, and defenses are prepared. Catapults line up at the ready along each city's walls, and ballistas as well in the maritime counties. After the anti-raiding defenses are issued, King Kaecillius Trentor the IV would put his Lord Chancellor, Count Quintus Bassileus, in charge of the Kingdom during his absence, and ride with a convoy of knights down to the port city of Xanthus, from whence he would sail on one of the 15 grand ships he had ordered constructed to the Kingdom of Maren. -=-=-=-=-=- At the meeting, when the time comes for him to give his speech, King Kaecillius would stand up and clear his throat, addressing his fellow Human rulers. "My Human brothers, Great Emperor of Vyraranium, Noble Dragon King of Maren, Honorable High King of Serault, and others I may have forgotten, it is an honor to come here today and stand before you. I await hearing the of the purpose of why we have been summoned, but I admire the action taken to bring us together already. It has been a long time since Humanity has held a conference amongst itself... Perhaps even since the First Age. I wish, however, before we begin this meeting, to warn my fellow monarchs of the Scourge to the East: The Horde of Lur. They are evil, barbaric, CRUEL raiders whom would see us all ENSLAVED or MURDERED! With such a large army, no one nation can stand up against them. They have war elephants, and camels, and bears... We have horses and archers and footmen. Already they are sweeping through Campestrius as we speak, and already there have been several major battles. If action is not taken to subdue this horde, you know as well as I do that they will come after your nations next after they have sacked my own! I would request aid in purging these raiders from our lands; in fact, I would implore it. No one nation can survive this onslaught, even such power and potent ones as our own. It is therefore nessisary to forge an alliance, however stable or temporary." The King of Campestribus sits back with his envoy, in a throne they had brought from the ship Deliverance with them. He awaits the responses of his fellow monarchs, and curiously awaits the Dragon King's opening speech for the meeting.
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted January 4, 2015 The Horde of Lur Rap'Lur soon finds that the towns do not put up much of a fight, and what does seem to be able to do so is too fortified to efficiently take. Rap'Lur has taken to officially calling his group the Horde of Lur for political purposes. He accepts, and welcomes Buubztik's request of an alliance. He moves his army swiftly around what he ascertains to be the capitol of the nation he is attacking, from stolen maps and such; a city known as Lauriacum upon the maps. After incurring minimal losses, he decides to make his next move as he has the advantage. The Horde moves to cut off the capitol from any other holds, and to refrain from assaulting the fortifiable main cities of the Campestribans. Rap'Lur has some totally broken and loyal Campestriban slaves sent into the capitol city, to burn the food stockpiles of the fortified cities, moving in with the waves of refugees from the ransacked villages. Raiders regularly attack anyone who ventures far outside the Campestriban cities. Fields are salted as raiders pass over them: the Horde of Lur obviously does not care much about lands and holdings, even if the occupants of the held cities leave to farm, their former fields will be rendered useless. Camels are not garrisoned as close to the cities as the standardized cavalry, to avoid normalizing the Campestriban cavalry to the camels. Of the dead horses of both sides, winter clothing is fashioned to protect the Horde from the impending winter. As well, the alliance from his fellow orc Buubztik is accepted without question, along with another message: The situation in Campestribus is under control. However, it would be great if your forces could move to assist mine, to scare these humans further this conquest of mine would be over even swifter. Heff 2460 Share Posted January 4, 2015 =+= The Kingdom of Maren =+= The Kingly Human Court Dragon King Lev Roost stood before the assembled Kings. He spoke with a deep voice and not a very eloquent vocabulary, typical of the dragon men of the mountains. He spoke to make his point, not to flaunt his intelligence. "Assembled Kings, we are men amongst elves, dwarves, and uruks. These other races, long living and all knowing, may find themselves to look down upon the short lived men of Ruma. But this shouldnt be, for united we can carve empires and vast kingdoms out of this unforgiving land, as we have done since the First Age. Even now our kin struggle, against the horde of Lur in a fight to stop invasions. But who is to say this will be the last orcish warpath. Or is this just the beggining? Could the knife ears be the next to march on a grand expidition? Or the savage stunted slavers to the North? There are but few who stay their hand from war against the race of men. We in the mountains have learned this from the rogue dwarves and forgotten low elf lords. A united humanity, a humanity who watched eachother's backs could easily contest with even the oldest elf lord, the most bloodied uruk warking, or the wealthiest dwarf. Alone, us men will perish in a flood of foreigners, but united we will stand as a mountain in a fury of dragon fire... untouched. I have gathered you all here today, my kin, to propose a pact. Known as the Court of Men, we will work in alliance to repel threats to human kind and gain strong allies with the few noble aliens of this world. The others we will leave for the dogs." "As for King Kaecillus, I will dispatch 200 armored plains horses for you, they will be ridden by Knights who have ridden their beasts since birth on the Marenic Plains, and they will not leave their master." =+= The Formation of a New Cohort The Dragon Breath Cohort A cohort of the legion dedicated to the art of pyromancy, trained in the ways of wielding and summoning flame like that of a dragon. AndrewTech 3331 Share Posted January 4, 2015 THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS King Kaecillius would nod at every word of the Dragon King's speech. However, he would frown very deeply, in fact, almost scowl when he pledges a mere 200 knights to his cause. Kaecillius however keeps his cool, and simply replies, "Thank you, King Lev, for your knights. May House Roost prosper, and may Defensor grant you a long life. I was granted High Crown Authority by Parliment before it was dismissed, due to the war we now find ourselves in, so therefore I have the authority to announce that Campestribus will most certainly join this alliance on the spot, as a show of good faith. Though again, I implore my fellow Kings of Humanity for aid. Any number of troops are appreciated, and indeed, we despirately need them. Campestribus will fight to the last man against these orcs, if need be, but reinforcements would be most valued. The more, the merrier." Suddenly, a courier enters the room, and whispers something in Kaecillius's ear about the besiegement of Lauriacum. His eyes widen, but he keeps a cool expression as he nods slowly. He whispers something back, and the courier salutes him and leaves. Kaecillius quickly mutters, "Defensor Defensus, my kin; I'm sorry that I must make haste from this conference but my Kingdom despirately needs me. I sincerely hope you understand..." Kaecillius puts a fist over his heart, and salutes his fellow Human monarchs before leaving the conference abruptly with his envoy. He would leave his Minister of Diplomacy to act in his stead for the rest of the meeting. All that the middle-aged King could thing of was of his wife and daughter back in Lauriacum... Why had he not taken them with him? He, his envoy, and the 200 knights would ride immediately for the Iron Dominion's capital city en route back to the Kingdom; there the King would personally request an audience with their leader, wishing to implore for military aid ; the King would also be willing to negotiate for support if need be. From the Dominion, several prominent knights would split off of the main column, riding for the nations of Daidrec, The High Kingdom of the Fae, Forgotten Destiny, and any other neutral or friendly nations, planning to also implore for military aid, also promising to negotiate if need be. -=-=-=- Meanwhile, back in Campestribus... Lord Chancellor Quintus Bassileus doesn't have much to do during the siege but watch. But this was clearly not a raid. This was an invasion. The gates and draw bridges of Lauriacum would have been slammed shut immediately tater the last of the villagers in the county entered the capital. Therefore, only a few of the saboteurs would find their mark. And even then, many of the granneries of the grand city were already under guard by the Royal Knights and some of the county levy men. Therefore, only two granneries end up being burnt to the ground; 8 remain, and rationing is immediately issued by city officials. The perpetrators of this crime are immediately executed in the most painful manners, such as having each limb tied to a galloping horse and then being stretched to the extreme. As for morale in the outlying provinces, the villagers of the north, barricaded in the citadels, are terrified at the atrocities of the orcs. Men and women mourn alike as their fields are sewn with salt; they only hope that the Preists of Defensor will conjure up some sort of way to cleanse them in time after the war is over. However, they are far from morally crushed, revenge is in their hearts, and they are furious with the invaders. Meanwhile, Legatus Maximus Marcus Plagnet smiles. The ancient strategy was clicking into place. Snowfall was light in the winter months for the most part in Campestribus; it always had been, and always would be. There would be little trouble with the weather he suspected, and the legions and levy men were well-prepared for it for the most part. The 24th of Vanguard had approached; the time was ready. The 9,000 men of the Royal Army Legions that had been sent out of the Capital county all began to march, in unison with 9,000 more levy men from all major cities of Campestribus on the same day, from all sorts of different directions, towards Lauriacum, leaving 3,000 levy men and hold guards per city to guard each, more than enough to hold off a seige. They would keep silent, and attempt to march at triple-time through the plains and woods in an attempt to remain unnoticed. Any Orcish patrols or small raiding parties they would come across would be slaughtered on sight. As the Kingdom of Campestribus is a huge place, it is unlikely that patrols nor raiding parties would be able to scour every inch of the vast forests and expansive plains, nor would they be able to keep accurate, updated tabs on every single city across 1,000 miles of land, especially with them not knowing the terrain as well as the defending forces. Despite what would happen, the soldiers would remain hidden in the woods. They know the terrain well, and are accustomed to fighting on both plains and woodland battlefields. It would also be difficult for mounted units of any sort to traverse the dense forests; foot soldiers only would be able to enter with speed and ease. Eventually, on the 27th day of Vanguard, the enraged levy men and the skilled legionaries would decide to attack, in unison, from the woods at the cover of night, striking at the rearmost Orcish camps whilst the majority of their men would probably be asleep or enjoying the spoils of war. The 300 Battlemages attached to legions 1-3 would target the trolls of the force with their magics, and also attempt to set fire to their camps with their magics as well. Heavily armored leigonaries and levy men alike would attempt to cause as many casualties as possible before the majority of the orcs could be awakened. Then, after their attacks, each individual force would attempt to retreat back into the woods in a gurillia warfare type manner. They would continue to repeat this strategy, attempting to minimize their casualties whilst maximizing that of the enemy's. -=- Meanwhile... The citizens of Lauriacum would slowly become more aware of their despirate situation. They cry out of the god Defensor and to his Oracle, begging for salvation from the Horde of Lur. The Oracle and his preists engage in ancient rituals, strange as they may be, hoping that their god will come to their aid... ShadowoKing 86 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Fae of Tamenth Setherus has grew in strength for lasting two years on Ruma, memories of his forgotten arts were brought back to him but he keeps it secret from his people as he must appear god to them. He wears the anicent armour that the Fae of Tamenth carry as banners to represent their faith. The reformation of the army has became successful of suppyling trained troops, priests and necromancers to Tamenth's cause. Speaker Rhaegos was instructed to gather young Fae and any Fae to train as necromancers as numbers of living is outnumbered by the amout of orcs and humans from other nations. This would increase necromancers count to 300. The military strength on standby are 15000 sword and archermen,50 priests to heal the wounded, and upcoming 300 necromancers. (1 turn) The hunters from south returned with bad news. Military commander, Deventh has been killed by a tragic landslide. A funeral of respect was held for him on that day. Speaker Rhaegos was now have the power on the military ordered by Setherus and their gods. The expandison of the Tamenth's land has increased and close to reaching how far they wish to take. The covering of the lake was completed swiftly as it now filled with villages and farms set of troops to ensure their safety. Small wooden towers built in trees in this expanded were constructed as well. The river side expandison is still in progress with new villages being built, a mine spot located, and farms being planted. The full expandison would be completed in a year. (1 turn) Diplomacy A messanger was sent to The Iron Dominion by their gods name and from their god, Setherus. They will not expand any further towards your lands. A weak looking Fae messanger approachs a orc of Horde of Lur for a message to be delivered back to Rap'lur. Speaker Rhaegos request you reconsider the offer of supplying corspes to Tamenth as it will benefit the Horde greatly into invading west to rid of man on Ruma. A offer is sent to The Kingdom of Campestribus, Fae of Tamenth will give military aid only if they were supplied with the dead corspes of Campestribus's troops. If Fae of Tamenth get large shipment of dead corspes, military aid will come. You don't have to worry as it is part of Fae of Tamenth culture to gift the dead to their gods for strength. Will (TauFirewarrior) 2466 Share Posted January 4, 2015 The Vyrantium Imperium The First Humanic Court The Archon of the Imperium attending the Court himself sits in his designated area of the Court, he is joined by several Magisters and members of the Mage Nobility along with one of the Legates in the Imperiums standing army. He listens to the pleas of the other Kingdoms, hearing of the great Horde of Lur in the East. He finally stands, letting his voice be heard in this conference between human Monarchs "The Vyrantium Imperium is very old, steeped in history, tradition and of course magic. We see other humans as our brothers and sisters in this world. Our nation however does make friends with the other races, such as the High Fae Union. This doesn't however mean we'll let our brothers be stomped into submission by another race, least of all Barbarians from the East. King Kaecillius you will have the full support of the Fourth and Fifth Expeditionary Legions of the Imperiums Standing Army. That is twelve thousand men and which includes one thousand two hundred of the Imperiums Magi. I accept this pact protecting the human nations from non-human aggression, however I do so on the condition that none of my non-human allies are attacked as I will defend them. Take this as a declaration of war against the Horde of Lur and we commit that full twelve thousand to the war effort. I would urge the good King of Maren to send a large host East alongside me." The Imperial Archon sits back down, looking to the two human Kings to see if they will respond Political Actions -The Imperium is accepting of the proposed human defense pact brought fourth by the Kingdom of Maren- -The Magisterium approves the declaration of war on the Horde of Lur- -A Messenger is sent to "The Iron Dominion" asking for military access for its Legions to move East- Military actions -The Fourth and Fifth Legions begin the march to the Kingdom of Campestribus, the forces consist of twelve thousand men, one thousand two hundred of them being combat trained mages. They would wait for the response of the "Iron Dominion" before pressing further East - -The Second and Third Legion Remain in the conquered territory near the Mountains, assisting their High Fae allies whenever needed.- -The First Legion of the Imperium parades in the capital, as the Imperiums Nationalist Holiday 'Archon Day' is celebrated by the masses.-
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted January 4, 2015 The Horde of Lur **** was getting heavy really fast, Rap'Lur found. However, he had an asset that none of the other nations knew he even had. Immediatly after reaching Lauriacum, the patrols would have been tasked with trapping the woods as soon as Rap'Lur has finished talking with the commanders of the initial push. A new form of unit was converted from other types of units, and stolen armor was melted down to be used for other things. Goblins begin building trebuchets on the base of the hills around the valley, to shoot over the valley and into the city. Loaded with dead horses and rocks, once these trebuchets are finished they would begin a regular bombardment into the city. A night watch is established in the camps, and outposts are established, all equipped with signal beacons: If any of the outposts were to be attacked, the beacon would be lit, and another outpost would light it's beacon and so on and so forth. The valuable assets of the Horde were always kept in the most guarded area of the encampment, as that would have made sense to do. The guerrilla warfare sort of thing works on the outermost camps, however the burning of encampments would simulate a lit beacon, and war drums would arouse the soldiers. The attacks devastate the outlying encampments before the Horde can muster a reasonable response. The woods around the encampments are immediately torched by the alchemical fire the soldiers carry. Diplomacy A leader-to-leader council with the Iron Dominion is accepted, but Rap'Lur postpones attending the meeting as his forces are attacked. He does accept the non-aggression pact and trade with his two trade cities, and implores the Iron Dominion to remain fully neutral in this engagement The Fae of Tamanth will be delivered their corpses for total neutrality in the Horde's engagement The Daidrec will have any reasonable request of theirs honored by the Horde for total neutrality. AndrewTech 3331 Share Posted January 4, 2015 ~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ King Kaecillius would remain in the Iron Dominion and continue to plead with their leader. As he hears of the troops from Vyrantium en route, he grins widely. Finally things were going his way. However, he frowns deeply upon hearing that they are waiting for the word of the Dominion's leader to move through their territory... Going around the lake might take too long in any case. But then he remembers an order that he had issued a few years back, when coastal raiders had sacked the Dominion of Marste. Perhaps the fruits of that order would now pay off... He sends a courier for the Deliverance, still harbored off the coast of the Great Lake, to go to the port city of Solva, with an order to set sail for Xanthus and bring the recently completed fleet of Campestrian warships to the Great Lakes. Such is done, very easily, as the Orcs had not bothered with the ships in any capacity, nor had they traveled that far south in large enough numbers to do so. After the ships reach the Great Lake, they would set anchor off of the coast of the unclaimed land south of the High Kingdom of the Fae's newly claimed possessions. Kaecillius would send yet another emissary to the armies of Vyrantium outside of the borders of the Iron Dominion, offering them the use of his fleet to ferry their soldiers over to the northernmost county of Abalava and circumvent the Iron Dominion's borders via an amphibious landing if need be. If they decide to do this, the ships would be at their command. One ship also brings back news of the offer sent to Campestribus from the Fae of Tamenth, as well as a number of corpses stashed in the cargo hold. Though Kaecillius finds the request odd, and rather grizzly, he knows that the souls of dead warriors will always go to Defensor's Haven, and decides to leave Sir Richard Laurence in the Iron Dominion to hear their leader's response to his pleas while personally sets out with the wagons of corpses, guarded by the knights from Maren, to the Fae of Tamenth. He would send a horsemen ahead of him to tell them that he accepts their offer, and is sending several wagonloads of corpses as a sign of good will. -=-=-=- THE FIRST HUMANIC CONFERENCE Foreign Minister Tiberius Oswald would have remained at the meeting, to act in the King's stead, with several of Kaecillius's knights that he'd brought along with him from Campestribus. He nods slowly as the Imperial Archon speaks. "Your support is most appreciated and is greatly praised, honorable Archon. My liege will be most pleased! I am sorry that I must act in his stead, but we must act quickly to save Campestrium... For our capital city, Lauriacum, is under siege. As I currently speak for his majesty the King, and he in turn speaks for the Parliament and Lords of Campestribus, I must agree on the provision of being able to have non-Human allies. However, Campestribus, as the King has stated, still wishes to join this alliance, and in fact will." The Foreign Minister crosses his hands behind his back, and would remain silent unless addressed by the Human monarchs. -=-=-=-=- The Legatus Maximus frowns; the woods surrounding the outlying camps had been burned, and their armies had been forced to retreat. Nonetheless, there was another strategy that they could attempt. Still hiding in the woods, just outside of the camps, the traps would be sprung upon a number of the troops of Campestribus, injuring them terribly and even killing a few. However, units and legions soon learn from their mistakes, and casualties from traps soon decrease drastically. The damage is marginal at best to the numbers of the Campestrians. The Campestrian forces would now attempt to target any supply lines coming from the nations supporting the Orcs towards their camp, attempting to make them suffer as the Lauriacans were. Any captured wagons of food would be sent to the various outlying cities that require them with armed escorts in an attempt to extend the amount of time that the cities could remain besieged. Coastal cities would also take the opportunity to fish and capture maritime food due to the low attention paid to them by the Orcs. Of course, there would be the occasional casualty of a fishing party from Orcish raiders, but for the most part, these endeavors would be successful. Couriers share information around the Kingdom's holdings, traveling under the cover of night. Their spirits remain high, especially with the spreading rumor that reinforcements shall soon arrive to save the day, though they generally remain on edge and are fairly nervous. -=-=-=-=- Meanwhile, in Lauriacum... The Lord Chancellor took cover underneath a stall as a catapult stone smashed into the building next door. Archers and crossbowmen on the walls return fire towards the orcs in front of them, as well as various catapults lined up against the walls of the city. Infantry and calvalry alike would have a very hard time reaching the isolated hold, and in any case would be shot down by archers before they ever reached the immense, incredibly deep gap in front of Lauriacum's gates. The Royal House of Trentor, including Queen Metella and Princess Marie, along with the King's advisory that had remained in the city, would remain barricaded in the most well-protected part of the citadel. The population is now miserable, and utterly depressed. They continue, however, to keep hope, and pray to the god Defensor for salvation. The priests and the Oracle continue to perform their rituals... help from Defensor is most surely coming...
