AGP 3169 Share Posted January 11, 2015 -snip- As I've always said, "LotC tries to satisfy everybody and thus nobody is ever truly satisfied." LotC's policy is basically not selecting one style of Rp over another, maximizing total amount of players online but minimizing total amount of players per-group.

lawnmowerman 3040 Share Posted January 11, 2015 well tbfh here, i'm sick of seeing people named Kirito in black duster coats wielding three katanas and manage to cast these fucken spells in no time without even following ******* lore. It literally disgusts me and i completely despise it. I mean Usopp is edgy, but atleast he's the good type of edgy and can actually RP. EDIT: I mean my character is called edgy even if he doesn't really stuff classified as edgy. He's usually just following his tribal culture's rituals and habits which I hate because I get yelled at in OOC for it. I mean I think that having a dark, mysterious character is perfectly fine as long as you don't name him Desu-San-Kirito and use kunais and stuff it really pisses me off. Proddy 2415 Share Posted January 11, 2015 There's honestly nothing that irks me more than seeing Elves with Japanese names, wielding Japanese-esque weapons (i.e katana's) and acting in a very anime esque way with over the top bright appearances and mannerisms. I can understand if you like anime, and want to bring a drop of creativity and uniqueness into your character and your role-play. I'm not trying to **** upon the batch of players who are guilty of this, but I feel as though the Elvish player base would be much more fun and respected if their players acted, well.... Elvish, really.
Katherine1 362 Share Posted January 11, 2015 The current rule for hair dye in Leyulin is keep it natural.Naturey greens, reds, and golds are fine, bright neon pink is not. That's still expanded from the just the green I heard when I first joined the server. lawnmowerman 3040 Share Posted January 11, 2015 @ Pumpkinman, I'm not really overreacting. It just really disgusts me when I see a character called Seyia Katashi that wields three katanas, a double handed blade, ten throwing kunai knives and a ******* blowdart pipe that shoots various poisoned darts that can shrek you instantly, even if he probably did no RP to soak them in the said poison or didn't even get the weapons specially crafted. EDIT: I find so many elves be too loose on following culture. Most of them just try to squeeze between the humans and live among them. I bet there are more "impure" high elves then there are pure ones, which is really sad since the elves are packed with vast and interesting lore that legit 1/3rd of the elves follow. Heff 2460 Share Posted January 11, 2015 I said over-exaggerating, not over-reacting. Lore is there to be based upon, one cannot expect every player to follow the lore to the core. Even PiercingDarkness knew this when he created the Aephes. I for one however am rather curious on why it is so bad that they (elves) choose to 'live among the humans'. Safety in numbers, no? If one is considered impure by the High Elves I'd certainly turn to a larger faction. If one were to follow lore completely one would not have a unique identified character, merely a model of what the lore/server set you as. Also, The Wood Elves get more RP in their city than the humans do, at least; as far as I know so I don't see how the elves are 'trying to live among humans' in the first place. Edit: Elves have lived among humans for as long as Adunian has been a race. Edit: I can't words. grrr the adunians aren't elves weaboo! ! ! #halfbreedsrepresent

Heff 2460 Share Posted January 11, 2015 http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Adunians Adunians are a Half-breed originally born of Humans and Elves. k. Next you're going to tell me that Halflings are no longer forced to worship Knox Oh wait. um ORIGINALLY. That doesn't mean they ARE elves. Just like halflings aren't humans. Bucky_24 132 Share Posted January 11, 2015 I have one question for the OP. Why is your interpretation of the server and what you think it should be like, outweigh anothers? What makes you better than them? Your original post talks about things that should even affect you or your character in RP. Someone is wielding a wrench? Since you should be able to separate RP from OOC, you could be like, "I've never seen this before. It must have been crafted by a master blacksmith." You RP your character on an already established server. The 'History of Earth' and it's technological progression does not determine how on a magical plane of existence, totally fictional and brought about by the collaborations of hundreds, if not a thousand players. Real World ain't got nuffin on me. On the limited time I spend on the server, I play a 7'6" suit of demonic armor who walks around killing people with an axe that is possessed by a violent memory I had when under a certain situation. I don't believe that ever happened in the history of our world, yet it is perfectly acceptable here. Why rant about something you don't understand anyway? Who's to say RP, in the past three years, hasn't lead to the creation of a wrench. Or explain, like our lore actually does, dyed hair. Maybe a fedora was crafted in RP by a tailor? Maybe someone decided, "Woh. What if I made a cloth helmet... that is for style instead of war?" And the hat resembles a fedora? I could literally go out into the wilds, grab a stick and skewer a frog, then call it a Computer. There is nothing stopping me from selling Computers, or frogs on a stick, in any city in the map. Why? Because a name doesn't determine if it's lore-friendly. You made a comment about a cutlass, or just an oddly-shaped sword which is used by various pirate groups in game anyway, and how it doesn't fit lore. Why not? Going with the Names-Doesn't-Dictate-RP rule I made up 5 seconds ago, I could create a new design for a broom, maybe I want to put steel wool on the bottom for cleaning rust off machines, and call it a Rifle. Or a Sniper. I could even call it a Stick with Steel on the End. All is perfectly accepted. It might seem nonsensical, but it is lore-friendly. Get off ye high horse, because this server ain't changing. People will always bring new ideas to the server, many of which I don't agree with, and there isn't anything you can do about it.
Heff 2460 Share Posted January 11, 2015 The original debate was whether or not Humans and elves should be trying to live amongst each other, you are only paving way for my road, My dear Heff. Either way, even today's Adunians are elven no matter how you look at it. They have the blood of elven ancestors running through them. How do I know this? Because each Adunian has both the Elven and the Human curse. Friendo but they are not ELVES so your arguement is invalid. Thats like saying oh yah dwarves live with halflings because they are part human part dwarf. You cant say Edit: Elves have lived among humans for as long as Adunian has been a race. because Adunians are not elves. They are Adunians. They are a half-breed race not a half-breed Half Elf half Human.
