Mandate From The Thane’s Council, 1493

It is so ordered that from this moment hence, the Thane’s Council of Urguan shall be replaced in duty and power by the new Lord’s Council of Urguan. This new Council shall assume the powers of the old Thane’s Council as well as a new set of powers for each of the five positions as determined by the Grand King of Urguan. These new Lords shall be selected by the Grand King and it is expected that he do so with the thought of their merit and ability in mind. The positions and their holders are as follows.

It is so ordered, by the will of Grand King Zahrer Irongrinder, that the following positions shall be set as the official titles for the five seats of the newly enacted Lord’s Council of Urguan. The following Dwedmar will promptly assume their new roles in the governmental functions of the Grand Kingdom with the full expectation that they will do their duties efficiently and honorably.

 

The Lord’s Council

Lord Protector: The Lord Protector shall oversee all areas of national defense. This includes, but is not limited to: Assuring the Commanders fulfill their duties and keep a well trained legion, navy, siege division and auxiliary, organizing a guard force to protect the cities of Urguan, making sure all defenses and fortifications are built to standard and providing strategic battle plans and defensive strategies for the Kingdom.

 

The Lord Protector is a prestigious and important position in the defense of Dwedmar interests and culture throughout the realm. This position will go to Akvar Ireheart.

 

Lord Chancellor: The Lord Chancellor shall oversee diplomatic affairs within the Grand Kingdom. This includes, but is not limited to: Arranging regular Lord’s Council meetings and arranging diplomatic meetings to discuss trade, alliances, peace and growth.

The position of Lord Chancellor is a highly important role in regards to foreign affairs and must therefore go to one who is highly skilled in the foreign affairs of the Grand Kingdom. This position will go to Hogarth Irongut.

 

Lord Chamberlain: The Lord Chamberlain shall oversee all labour and production within the Grand Kingdom. This includes, but is not limited to: Organizing the mining and smithing areas, overseeing the work of the Forge Master and Yemekar’s Pick, and making sure the Kingdom has sufficient gems, metals, weapons and armour.

 

The Dwedmar are famous for their ability to work quickly and efficiently when given the proper tools for their tasks. The job of Lord Chamberlain must therefore go to one who will see their job through to the end and efficiently gather the resources of the land for the benefit of the kingdom as a whole. This position will go to Lathros “Oilbeard” Irongrinder.

 

Lord Steward: The Lord Steward is charged with the running of all economic affairs of the Grand Kingdom. His responsibilities shall include the organization of taxation within the borders of the Grand Kingdom as well as the collection of taxes from vassals and holds. The Lord Steward would also be responsible for organizing trade agreements between the Grand Kingdom and other parties for the overall benefit of the Dwedmar.

 

The task of organizing the taxes of the Grand Kingdom is no easy job. The position of Lord Steward must go to one who diligently takes to their duty with zeal and pride. This position will go to Uldar Irongut.

 

Lord Specter: The Lord Specter shall oversee all religious practice and written works throughout the Grand Kingdom. This includes, but is not limited to: Overseeing the work of the High Remembrancer to assure that history is accurately recorded and literature is preserved, overseeing the work of the High Prophet, assuring he stays true to the Gods and preaches the true word of the Brathmordakin. The Lord Specter shall also be responsible for the safe organization and the protection of the sacred arts as decreed by the Clergy and the Grand King. This includes but is not limited to the Art of Golemancy, The Art of Runesmithing, and the defense of relics.

 

This position must go to one who has contributed much to the kingdom and has long been a guardian of the sacred arts. This position shall go to Dormin Doomforge.

 

Congratulations to those who will now honorably serve their King and Kingdom and take these final words to heart. These fine examples of the Dwedmar were selected for their glorious contributions to the Dwed people in recent times as well as the days long past. You few are given the extreme responsibility to help rebuild this Grand Kingdom from the foundation up to be that which it once was in the days of old. These positions are given with the expectation that they will be held in the highest regard and that each of you serves honorably until you can do so no longer.

He put his closed left fist on his heart in front of the king who was meeting with another Dwarf, much to Zahrer's surprise.
