Hey guys, birdnerdy again.

This is a follow up question to my earlier one found herehttps://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/121471-just-a-question/#entry1165274

Anyway, here it goes:

What was the most influential/infamous/effective/successful military organization this server has ever seen? What made them so successful? What did they do that made them so infamous? Are they still around, and if not, what made them disappear? Thanks!

Have mercy!

I suppose I'll reserve this spot for the Teutonic Order when I get off work.

I'd say the White Rose. I wasn't around to see them in action, but a lot of ex-white rose members seem very professional in what they do. Ain't no elf safe from the White Rose. Not sure what happened to them, but there's probably something about it on the wiki or on the forums.

There is no superior military organization, for the sake of not having folks beat their c*cks on the internet - both the Teutonic Order and the Order of the White Rose are your most illustrious examples.

The White Rose would be the number one spot, the Teutonic Order the second.  The White Rose just before its peak took on the Teutonic Order at its peak, and won the war.

White Rose! White Rose at its peak defeated the Teutons at their peak. Plus the sacking of Malinor! People made white list applications about their elven parents getting killed by the White Rose. I don't see any white list apps about the Teutons, HMM?

White Rose because we're in applications about us killing elves ;)))

and a lot of other reasons maybe ill explain them

but one key to successful military is delegation. Perhaps the most important factor to consider

The Teutonic Order at its peak? I don't know, that is contested.

IThe Teutonic Order matched the "historical model of civilizations as organisms". The peak of the Teutonic Order was in Aegis, the plateau was when the White Rose faced the Order, the fall being when Slic3man turned them into ruddy necromancers.

The Teutonic Order.

What made them so successful?

I'd have to say an ability to adapt quickly to changing political conditions as needed, a strong core of members, a focus on resource collection, and a very, very real OOC devotion (Whether or not this is healthy overall is up to debate).

What did they do that made them so infamous?

A variety of things. In Aegis? Waging war against just about everything. Asulon? Emperor's "elite" and agents, as well as controlling a huge, autonomous realm in Oren--Hanseti. Everything from scientific experimentation to trying to create a world-destroying device. Anthos? Defending itself in the Orenian Civil War against the Roses and Blackmonts.

Are they still around, and if not, what made them disappear? Thanks!

TO is dead, and has been for a long, long time. Why did this happen? It's controversial. Mirtok will say something different, but I think it was because of a few factors:

1. The antagonist--More or less, the antagonist was going to take over Greywynn, the TO's capital and only major holding in Anthos, no matter what we did. As soon as this became clear, discouragement spread amongst the ranks. I was the most impacted by it and quit. I think Mirtok was angry, too.

2. Inner conflict--A certain leader of the TO was banned and didn't want to give leadership to anyone else, causing a rift in the TO between people loyal to someone trying to take over the TO and this banned person. I'm sure anyone who has any awareness could tell you what I mean; point is, inner conflict was an issue.

There's others that I cant think of right now, too.

The Teutonic Order is like the army of an african Warlord. Filled with brainwashed children shouting their leaders name.
