Just A Question

Hey guys, birdnerdy here.

I'm a fairly new player, I joined just after the release of 4.0, and my favorite part of the server so far has been the battles and wars. It's not the Pvp that I enjoy, it's the scale and scope of the battles. That's what makes Pvp on LOTC different than other servers. It has meaning. Planning goes into the movements of the participating players. We use unique strategies and formations in situations that call for them. There are consequences beyond the loot that you get from killing someone.

So here's my question:

In your opinion, what was the most climactic/epic/cataclysmic/enjoyable battle that you have fought in, and do you have screenshots or recordings of it? Thanks!

Aegis, Battle of Revolters at Alras. Me and Ouity became buds via a 10 minute archery duel against eachother, neither of us won.

I remember you mate from our fights in Embermoore, I play the High Elf ex-pat named Duvaindir.

Anyways, I am a pretty old vet and I've always had a blast with military RP. I believe the best war in LotC is the series of sieges on the human capital of Al'Khazaar back in Aegis, five sieges in total and I led the Teutonic Order to win each one back in the first map. Then again, that is me being biased. A non-Teutonic war/battle that I thought was awesome was the Battle for the Dreadfort. White Roses impressed me.

Wow, I didn't expect a nearly unanimous opinion on something like this. I'll have to find a recording of the Dreadfort battle.

The Battle of Snowy Fields and that big one during the reign of Thorin Grandaxe, early Anthos. It was an epic battle of massive proportions, at least one hundred players on each side. The server lagged a bit, which caused the arrows and snowballs being thrown to form a volley over our heads, glitching the lightning and giving it a '300' sort of light effect. It was epic, even though we lost. There are videos.

wasn't really a battle. but when Adunians lived next to Kralta, we'd have shouting matches over the river that divided us, and I was a new adunian, pretty young one too, maybe 11 or 12. and the Kraltans and the older Adunians were teaching me how to shout at them.

like, I'd shout something and they'd encouraged me to shout better at them.

then I shouted something about some guys mother and he shot me in the shoulder with a arbalast.

I fell off the small wall and was carried into the old white rose keep to be treated.

Guess I said something bad enough to be shot.

Haven't played here long, joined in October 2014 (recently had to remake forum acct.). I do remember when the Uruks and Akovians raided the Khas in December. Around 50 Uruk-Akovians total. Not much, 'twas interesting though. I played as an Akovian, but I didn't get good footage after dying to an Uruk ally 20 seconds in.

I forget the name, but it was a naval battle all the way back from Asulon. I know there's a video for it too, yet I cannot find it. Basically though, it was Dwarves vs Teutons.

Ahh.. The Great Admiral Throdo Thervinf and his 1st Mate Boiendl Silverblads with their Crew and armada.. Against the behemoth Dwarven ship.. It resulted in the sinking of three ships that day and a victory for the Teutons!
