Minecraft name(s): Arzota

Skype ID: razid17016

Time zone: Eastern Standard Time

Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: I have not.

Do you hold / have you held any other staff positions?: I have held the positions of Tech Team, Media Team, and Event Team (as an actor and co lead).

What MMORPG/video games have you / do you play? (Past and Present): Excuse the list:

> Dungeons & Dragons(3.5e, Pathfinder)

> Elder Scrolls (Oblivion, Skyrim + DLC)

> Diablo I through III

> Archeage

> Neverwinter Nights I and II

> Several others like Archeage.

What are your characters? Are you willing to sacrifice any to become a Event member?: My character is Arzota Shadeleaf. He can become an event character only if extremely necessary. I've two others, Hilan Athna and Shae'tan which are already technically event characters, and who I would happily put back in such positions.

What race / group do you think your events would best cater to? If none in particular, give an example of the type of group that your events would entertain.: Everyone says they'll focus on one group mainly, I've played here long enough to know the intricacies of each niche so I believe that any party (Be it Pve obsessed, Rp oriented, or Dungeon related) could be catered to by my events.

What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?:

A Good Hook: Without this, characters and players aren't interested whatsoever. A hook is what determines the course of event. Bad hook? Bad event.

Enjoyment: Over all, even if the ET must sacrifice their own time, the player's enjoyment comes first. You are a tool to the people as an actor and so long as that is the case the expectation to make the populace happy is paramount.

Story: Whether it be a short 5 minute tale or epic week long escapade. A good story has four things. A beginning, a middle, a twist, then an end. To make the event memorable, there must (at least) some hint of these elements.

Challenge: When something challenges a player to think, they become involved both mentally ic and oocly. Give them something just challenging enough to elicit a response, but not too challenging as to make them give up any hope of winning.

When was the last time you saw a event?: On this server, it was feral elves event some time ago. Else, Benbo gave me a rather interesting welcome back event with Knox the day after my return.

What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? Are you knowledgeable in lore or great at organizing?: I've been around for about three years with a short break as of recent. I know lore, history, strategies from Dungeon Mastering, and like to focus on chain events. The ET is as large as ever, and I believe I may fit in with the pool of talent already present therein.

Why do you want to be part of the ET?: Its as simple as this. I want to tell stories again.

Create three distinct RP scenarios/events based on LOTC lore that you would organize.

These are pitches to the Managers and Ouity, not to the community. Note: Not all of the group must be handled at once. Eg: 20+ people via 5 person increments in a dungeon.

(Each of these written in skeleton format due to fluidity of players)

1) For 1-3 person: Mage of the East

The event begins in a simple manner. A wandering man with a cart approaches a town and sets down his cart, placing up a sign signaling he has things for sale. (focused on a low population area) Players would approach and would trade for a very specific set of items, each of which holding a magical quality, seemingly beneficial. As the wanderer leaves, all would seem normal for a time, the players enjoying what they have before a screech is heard from down the road the wanderer left upon.

The combat portion of the event begins now. The items purchased would show themselves to be the equivalent of mimics. Enchanted objects with malevolent purpose. This part would be either represented through Rp or a swarm of silverfish, depending on how the players wish to handle the situation. Either way, the mimics would be defeated and show them to be mundane items of little value. If the players follow up on the scream, they would find the cart deserted and the wanderer's hat torn to shreds. The players traded items would be left for them to retrieve, along with an obscure book which can lead the players to the next link of this chain event. If they do not follow up on the cart. The wanderer would be found dead in the center of town the next the players ventured outside, bite marks and burns upon his body, the book in his hand.

2) For a group of 5-10: “Never feed him after midnight”

Darkness falls on the high elven city, one elf still working busily on his last few potions to be brewed. From behind him, the crash of glass is heard, and a small ‘drip, drip’. What he will end up finding is a small, gelatinous creature which seems to be warm to the touch.

The entropy of the event starts here, with many different branches the player can follow. They can end the creature then and there if they are wise enough, or they may let it live, the other inhabitants slowly learning of its existence. This chain event will take place over the course of a month or so. If the players do the correct things, the creature will remain docile, perhaps an addition to the local scenery or a useful servant. On the much more likely account that they do something incorrect to the creature, the beast’s rampage would begin, destruction and behavior completely dependent upon which stage the creature is in.

3) For a group of 20+: Flight of the harpies

This event is prefaced by sightings of the ‘changed’ creatures about a town and glancing encounters during normal Rp. As the players begin to recognize the new, mutated harpy presence, attacks upon individuals near the nest would begin by the creatures. The longer the players put off handling the creatures through tracking and other methods, the more dramatic the attacks and effects will become. Upon the occasion they do follow the harpies, they will find the body of an adventurer, an unfinished map leading to the harpy cave upon his body.

Players would find the cave upon searching long enough, located inside a hollow hill and guarded heavily by the beasts. Players would be given a chance to organize a dungeon party to enter the cave, their first attempt being met with a slue of harpies rushing out, not necessarily attacking them, rather fleeing from the scene. Continuing, the players would find that all but the center chamber of the dungeon is empty, the queen harpy guarded by two dark mages and several warriors. The players completing the dungeon, one mage would speak of “The exodus of her chosen”, before falling dead after combat.

Days after the completion of the dungeon, word spreads of more and more demented harpy attacks around the world. Presumably more and more colonies springing up under the harpies that left the cavern. This is a world event concept if needed, event team adding corrupted harpies to their repertoire of monsters and attacking often with them. Each new nest may be dealt with by a town or group until the desired length of the world event is reached, at which point one final event explaining how the creatures came about may be ran.

How long do you plan to stay in the ET?: So long as I’ll be had, I can’t say for sure but so long as everything is as stable as it was last time, I’m ready to put work back into the team.

Tell me a joke: A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

Despite the attitude I've seen from him during main antag events during Anthos, I still remember a lot of the good events he's done separately as one monster or another. Good RPer, and as long as he's not trying to win anything he could make a good ET as well +1

I've mixed opinions on this, I really like you. You disappeared for a long time, tell me truly- do you feel you can truly do better than you did last time? (You were good, but not great.)

I feel with effort you could pull off some events of epic proportion, but I also feel you'll be another of those sitters who don't do anything. Your thoughts?

In all honesty, my break did not correspond to a break in Rping. Part of the reason I left for so long was to get better in both aspects of coding and RP, which I feel I have done though am much stronger in the Rp sense. You speak of the sitters on the ET, which is another reason why I decided to make this application. After a talk with Fact apparently only a few ET do daily events, I hope to add myself to that list as well.

The antagonist that I led, though not the main focus of your question, admittedly brought out the worst in me. Its what happens when you mix a main character with event work. Learning from that, I think that nothing like that will happen again. Over all, I'm back and I truly just want to help the server be a bit more interesting.

I've spent an incredibly large amount of time RPing with Arzota in the past and I don't doubt that he could do some incredible events for players. He has the experience and the ability to make them extremely enjoyable for everyone and I don't think there could be a better pick. +1
