Hey guys! As of today I have taken my leave from the global moderation team to focus on school till the summer as well as put my focus onto building and creating events for the server rather than moderating it. I always say I would rather take an extended leave or just a leave in general than go inactive. In my place a fresh, new one will spring up which is awesome!

 

Freema has kindly let me onto the event team and I am excited with what I will be doing, including having the freedom of a normal (almost normal) player.

 

 

But before all that I have something that is overdue!!!

Do you miss being POWERful

 

I am still powerful! All powerful! Okay tbh being "powerful" or "OP-ed" is nice but you miss out on something. I had all the power to drive my character any which-way but I wasn't driven to do or make any decisions in regards to my RP. That created a stale environment for me which I am hoping to alleviate.

 

Do you miss making plateaus with your mind? :P

 

I make plateaus with my mind everyday. It's awful but sometimes I dream about building in MC and I get a lot of my inspiration to build from playing other games. Currently I am enjoying dragon-age: inquisition and Evolve. Both of which have some pretty spectacular terrain.

Favourite experience on the GM team? 

 

 

My favorite experience as a GM would probably be either getting to work closely with ShiftNative during the development of 4.0 or a variety of times where me and the other GMs would just hang out and talk. I made a spleef arena in a build world that was like 15 layers deep and we all had super efficient diamond shovels which didn't matter because tythus came along and did //cut on the snow and I fell to my death. 

 

There are plenty more but that one is more recent and sticks out in my memory!

I do and I often laugh at that. I would like to think that I got much better with my commands since then and I tend to be a bit more careful when I type something in! Though I think Menarra fired me from being BrandNewLiri a month or so ago. I forget why. ;-;

This is less of a question and more of a, I dunno, you decide.

 

Just wanted to let you know that under no circumstances did I ever intentionally target or think your OOC obligations an opportunity to strike during the initial bronze uprising. The main difference was you, thankfully for us, made your absence an RP problem as well for us to address. Compared to previous leaders being absent for literal IRL weeks to months without any word, and no RP to react to this problem with. It was a relief to us, though not so much you, that we could finally get the ball rolling and RP after such a long period of waiting for something to actually RP to. There were misunderstandings that followed, stubborn stances on my side and after some occurrences that I felt were rather suspect - I thought people were trying to pull the wool over my eyes, and rather lazily at that considering the crap job they may or may not have done, I'll never know and at this stage I really don't care. - Because of that though, I reacted harshly to you, and looking back, too harshly.

 

So, to sum it up. Sorry, when I said we were trying to get on with RP, that's literally all I meant. I was too harsh and inconsiderate to you as well, you received the collective sum of my angst when it wasn't just you who was involved, and that was rather unfair.

 

I suppose my question for you would be, we cool?

Role play tips-  Well when my character moves I sometimes act out how I as a person move and then describe it in words. The hope is to have more realistic movement instead of ninja backflips (which are cool sometimes)

 

I always say go with the flow and if something happens to your character don't take it personally. Also it is more interesting for those around you if you play the weaknesses of your character more than their strenghts. If you are fighting a powerful creature would you realistically be brave enough to not run away? Could you survive a swipe from a dragon's claw without getting injured? I can't really dissect how I RP too much (I am bad at self-assessments in that regard) but I tend to think like this when I RP.

 

Finding RP- It can be hard, I know! The easiest way to find RP is to give your character a goal, a quest of sorts and then you do what you can and interact with who you see to obtain that quest. For instance my side character Faye was trying to locate Petrus so she wandered around, got lost and I accidentally ran into some guys. After trading some brews they lead to the city. It seems like not much but I really enjoy living in the simple, quirky dialogue that happens between characters. Rule of thumb though- If you can't create your own RP, then finding it becomes 10x harder.

 

Most Memorable Moment- I was an ET (I think) and my character, iat participated in an expedition to the North to locate a giant white tree so druid's could commune with it and get a seed (I don't even know the specifics) Anyways, we fought dragons and hordes of minions and I was lucky enough to have my character's magic (arcane shielding) showcased during the event several times. Stopping dragon fire and vollies of arrows from killing the expedition party. Eventually as we traversed through the north we found the tree, and there were like 6-7 of us left. It was one of the only events I got to participate in from the players side during the Anthos antag-era.

 

Three reasons I continue to play LOTC- 

1.) Minecraft is the medium. RP is something I didn't do till I got to LOTC. The building part and the inspiration I get from LOTC is a big reason why I am still here.

2.) It's relaxing. When I am stressed out I can hop on LOTC and build or do some creative writing. Socializing during modreqs was usually fun as well.

3.) Friends. Don't get me wrong I am pretty damn social IRL but LOTC holds alot of friends still and where IRL I tend to the quiet one of the group who is sometimes hard to hear in LOTC that doesn't matter. My biggest pet peeve is when someone asks me to repeat something because I couldn't be heard or they weren't paying attention to me. My diction IRL is a big detriment and I continuously work on it (I am an actor so I have to) but that doesn't matter in LOTC.

I usually enjoy moderating the server but not as much as I enjoy developing content for it. So when I self-assessed a couple weeks back I found that I hadn't been doing what I wanted to be doing. I had stopped building, creating event lines, etc... I found myself slipping from activity and so instead of becoming inactive I asked Frott if I could take my leave.

 

That said I think when summer rolls around I might like to continue helping with the moderation process. I have a blast working with the other GMs and I think it's fun to socialize with players and help them throughout their day. I would want to go back because out of the 12 months I have been GM it was overall a very rewarding experience and although I made mistakes, small and large, I think my easygoing nature fits well on the team. Also this is a good chance for me to reconnect with being a player again which is something all GMs miss out on and it is a highly valuable experience.

 

Will I be returning to GM? I don't know tbh. Depends on a lot of things and I don't even know what those things are yet. We will see though. To be clear I am not leaving the server! This is more like a kitten reboot. I also think it is healthy to get new faces in the team and cycle out old ones so if and when I come back I hopefully will have a new desire to participate.

 

Lots of explaining xD Sorry about that. Bottom line is I would rather take my leave so I have the chance to return at some point in the future than be inactive and removed from the team or worse. Not being removed because they are being nice and holding a spot someone else could fill.
